You can very well start a bead crochet rope without a starter rope. But many like me find it very hard to start a rope perfectly, neatly and flat. I'm new to bead crochet and finally was going to start crocheting my seed beads and I crocheted about 5 rounds of 8sc each and so when I started crocheting the beads the first row is going inside the little piece i crocheted. Do you think the thread or my needle is to big?

And I don’t quite understand the next part of your question. But I can say that if your new row of beads are caving in, then it means that your thread size is too small for the bead hole. why would you have to make a starter tube? and why would you even have to detach one tube from another?
