Please if you can help about below questions: 1-What is CPRI? 2- Challenges of using CPRI in 5G Technology. That means answering the following Can we use CPRI in 5G Telecommunication? What needs to change in current CPRI standard so that it can be used in 5G? Your feedback is a highly appreciated.
Hi Omar, Thank you for your questions and interest in Dali Wireless. CPRI is a Common Platform Radio Initiative: Basically a standard for encoding and transporting I/Q information as packet data between the base band units and the radio equipment. The data stream also includes control and management functions as well as synchronization signals. Dali incorporates what we call CPRI plus which is simply a way of increasing the data density. CPRI can be used in 5G technology but it is likely that NGFI (Next Generation Front Haul Interface) will move beyond CPRI to something that is less constrained in the time domain.
how do you connect to different BTS vendors which use different variety of CPRI ? via base band unit (digital via cpri / fibre?) or remote radio head (analogue)? is dali wireless vendor agnostic when it comes to cpri?
Thank you for your interest in Dali Wireless, Bagh-e Babur. Dali currently connects to different BTS vendors at the analog (RF) level. We can transport multiple rates of CPRI data and ethernet to feed Ethernet based small cells.
