Videos like this are always helpful to anyone who wishes to tackle this little climb for the first time. I mountain bike in this area quite often and it's one of my favourite places. Absolutely love the views. 👍
My favorite route is the Storey arms side, but turn off to the left before the first ridge, then follow the high ground around and up past Tommy Jones obelisk and uo onto Fan Fawr then over the saddle to pen y fan.
Seeing so many people in the comments slate you for how you pronounce it. I live in south Wales and hear plenty of Welsh people pronounce it that way, honestly don't let those idiots get to you, great vid!
Owh god went early on Saturday through the gate by the phone box, that was hardcore for novices, it turned into a scary moment with wind and cloud so came down unfortunately when we got off the big slope the clouds lifted and had no energy to get up again…
No it's not! Like it'll probably still feel steep if you're not very fit but it is a really accessible hill ☺️ definitely a good challenge if you've not done many big hills
I've been really meaning to get out on Tryfan this season! If I get a chance then I'll be up there. If not I'm planning to do an Xmas barefoot hike somewhere (brecons? Not sure).
@@elventuresearth I'm Welsh and some Welsh people feel the need to constantly correct English people when saying Welsh words. I see no point unless an English person asks for the correct way. It's no big deal.
I went up there a few days ago when it was boiling hot. I did it from the other side though and barefoot haha. It was very nice until you get to the slate path which was awful to walk on barefoot but it is doable.
To annoy ignorant, ill-mannered people like you. I googled "the easiest route to hike up pen y fan" and this was a great video for that, thanks @elventuresuk

It's been a long time since you hiked barefoot on sharp rocks; any video soon? : )

Why??? 😩😩
Da iawn.
Have a little respect. The name is Pen y Fan. Nothing to do with a penny or a van.
You could offer to teach me instead of berating me? Have a little respect
You sound like you need lessons in respect not the lady who made the effort to create this helpful video.
Ne'er mind, eh?
Just no need.
Yeah.. my 8 year old did this. Why do you exist?
So that when people Google "the easiest route to hike up pen y fan" they find an amswer
