- Hi every one back on the rats here with my HW 77 .177 12 ftlbs using the Pulsar C50 and PBiR X illuminator , this was my best ever night rat shooting with a spring action air rifle.
Simon that rifle can shot through the eye of a needle you’ve got that setup perfectly. All the very best to you Jack and all the family👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴👍🏻🏴
I did want to say exactly what you did,” through the eye of a needle “. To be fair, I’d say if Simon was to stick a 5inch needle at 20 yards, he’d probably take the head of it…🧐🤓
Really interesting and enjoyable ratting video Simn and Jack, thanks you for showing us this.
I am a 'dyed in the wool ' Weihrauch break barrel rifle fan and when I see "HW" show up in the title I sit up and take notice even more :)
Thanks again Simon.
Hi Simon,
Thank you for your praise and gratefulness. You are very welcome, and thank you for another great video.
Your HW 77 is super, super kit, looks gorgeous, though I think it helps, you being behind the scope, pulling the trigger! Nice to see lovely boy, Jack.
The HW77 at 25 yards, as you've proved, is a tack driver. The Weihrauch's are built like bank vaults and petform the same way.
I stay away from JSB Heavies 10.34 grain, for spring air rifles and stay with 8.44 grain. I use 10.34grain pellets in pcp air rifles.
A top gunsmith told me, keep the Heavies10. 34grain to pcp air rifles and 8.44 grain pellets to spring piston.
Actions speak louder than words Simon and what a nights action this video has been...Well done and thank you...........
Brilliant video as always Simon shooting rats with a BSA meteor at 10 was how it all started for me 👍
Great session on the rats Simon, it's great to see a springer out in pest control action again. Look forward to your new scope video mate.
Always a pleasure watching your videos Simon 🏴👍
Excellent shooting Simon especially with a springer
Cracking marksmanship Simon. Good to see Jack early on in the video.
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼……………………………………………WOW, that first place was COVERED UP with rats!!! Good shooting and it’s ALWAYS good to see Jack.
Great shooting as always, need 2 of you with all of those. Nice to see the old fella at start
Spot on Simon! Great opening in explaining your platform n equipment and always, it’s great seeing Jack. What a night!
Another great vid Simon. Great to see your mate with you again pal.
It's good to see your dog again missed him long time but it's great to see him again great show great dog
Thank you Denise
Great video... C50 so versicle from fox to rats... nice to show newcomers that spring guns are useable with NV. I got the interst years ago from UA-cam vids of rat shooting using Sony video cams. I think we all owe the sport to the pioneers of digital NV
I bet the old research videos have all gone now. C50 is a versitile day/night scope ... got one myself. Thermal is coming on now ...
Hats off to the guys and girls who started the spark years ago ... with Sony night shot👍
Another brilliant video Simon love to see those rats go down keep them coming mate take care 👍
Good one Simon, there's always one.
👍👍👍 Great, the exits are closed with rat carcasses !
Great to see Jack, no words, just a hand. It sounds bad but I taught my two boys gun dog commands , saved them from a broken glass when they were leading a conga at a party when they were little, whistle, hand 🖐️ stop 🎉
Cracking session Simon, tis the season to be ratting again, started mine last Friday, youhave to get one of those number clickers to keep count, nice video
Nice one
Great evening of shooting. Its almost like your were wearing the cologne "ODE OF DUMP" the way the rats were coming out towards you.
That was a serious target rich environment .. I do enjoy seeing rats eat lead !! Great video Amigo..
Fantastic shooting Simon
Wonderful to see ol'Jack
Great shooting Simon, the rats don’t stand a chance when you’re about. Nice to see Jack earlier in the video
Those cubby shots were the best!!
Nice to see Jack there at the beginning.
Keith.
👍
🇨🇦
Good video great to see someone else using a springer but more accurate than me really enjoyed thanks alan
Nothing but positive feedback from me👍. I have to watch your videos from start to finish even if it means the cows have to wait a minute or two longer.
Thanks 👍
Sorted those little pests out, nice shooting.
Great video Simon
Love your Videos Simon good to see jack back your videos are one of the best on here thanks again simon

Great shooting, really like the look of the HW77, love how you explain why you’re shooting, top marksman.Been watching for some months now, thought I’d subscribed then realised I hadn’t 🤦♂️, I have now.
Cheers John.
'Owdo lad! 'Ows tha' bin? Alreet?!!
I've been hating the heat we had a few weeks back and I've also been to a couple of Champ Shows! Both the boys have achieved their Stud Book number and are now qualified for Crufts for life!! I'm reet proud ❤
Q: Do rats ever blink?
How are ti Becksy, thought you had won the lottery and done a runner and gone down under or some where 😂 and ye well done on your Crufts results 👍👌
Another fun video Simon, great job. My best to you and Jack 😊
Just one negative remark! I don't have anywhere like that to shoot. Great shooting and great channel!
lol
Nice shooting mate good to see a springer in action good video to
Thank you Simon for another informative video. I suppose you just have to put up with the moaners and complainers. Even if I don’t quite align with the uploader’s point of view, which I do in your case, I appreciate the time and effort someone else has made putting a video together.
Superb shooting again and still wearing the H for H bracelet, nice one Simon
Great stuff following.
Much appreciated!
Quality video, excellent clarity, nice to see someone using a springer.
Makes me want to dig out the AA pro sport, paper target use obviously !
You are still I'm my opinion one of the best marksman I ever seen
Thank you Rudy
Great video Simon and love the intro with your best mate Jack. I like your HW 77 I'm looking at ordering one because of how accurate they are and being a under lever so the barrel doesn't move like my break barrel Benjamin does. That was one nonstop rat 🐀 supply chain of targets. Cheers Simon and give Jack a pat for me
Thanks Donald will do pal and you will not be disappointed with the HW 77 my friend.
Another great video, great shooting. Nice to see Jack out.👍
Nice one Simon!
You are very good!🙏👍🇸🇪👏
Wow, thank you
Excellent as always
When do choose to use night vision/IR vs thermal scopes? What’s the pros and cons of each? Love the vid.
Ok fella, been a while. Great shooting and a busy night. I've got the same rifle in .22. Which would you prefer to hunt with. Thinking of getting a 97 but not sure which calibre. I've got an 80 and 98 in .177 and was thinking of adding another . 22.
Keep up the good work and happy rating.👌
Nice videos... Are U happy with primos tripod?
Very!
Nice shooting Simon! It's always a pleasure watching your videos!
Is it the 177? Great video 👍
Yes, it is pal cracking rifle
I was just wondering.. what do you do with the dead ones.? 🙂
Muck pile pal
Target-rich enviro~!
lot fun watching you kill Rats. nice see Jack too
That opening shot - crap but that's a lot of rats! Your videos are great, and Jack is clearly a dearly loved pet and a great dog.
This must be one of the best if not the best of your videos on the rats you’ve done Simon, cracking footage and it’s great that someone is using the springers and showing just how good they are in the right hands of course! and we can’t forget Jack the old lad making an appearance too.
I went out on Friday night but didn’t see one rat but it wasn’t a wasted outing as I came back with dinner as I had a quick look over in the field and there was a rabbit bobbing about and I knew it was going to be a challenging shot as it was a pretty good distance but there was no wind and I got my Weihrauch hw100 kt in 177 steady on the gen 3 sticks and allowed for distance which was a guess as I thought it must be at least 45 yards and took the shot and it lept up about a foot in the air and dropped stone dead. I paced it out as I went to pick it up and I paced 48 yards and the pellet had hit right between the ears. The following day I walked back with my range finder and it was 51 yards! I was capped to bits, but I just wish I pressed record on the wraith as it was a rare distance for me and it just goes to show just what a sub 12 ft lb is capable of.
Anyhow keep those videos coming as we need folk like you on UA-cam we’ve lost two within the last two weeks as they’ve pulled the plug and we’ll miss them thanks to the decision maker at UA-cam.
Brilliant hunt! I'm surprised you didn't run out of ammo before the night was done, the rats were definitely out and about. Good to see your old mate, he looks good! Cheers!
I'm in Wisconsin US and I'm creeped out for you sitting on that barnyard floor with all those rats running around! What a great night hunt! can't wait for the next one Simon!
Sturgeon Bay here, Simon is a Legend !
Good to see Jack again. Great shooting like always. Made my day to see you had a new video again. Have a great day.
Great to see Jack and great to see a springer doing the job accuracy definitely not a problem. Great video as always.
Top quality vid as always and outstanding shooting as always too....to the point that unless you know the 77 you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a PCP you were shooting! I can't wait to get back out shooting again and I can't deny that your vids have inspired me to fulfill my childhood dream of owning an HW77. Best wishes mate and thank you for your time to film, edit and share!
Nice to see Jack again Simon. Great spot on shooting as usual. Cant wait for the next one.. 😎👍
Hi Simon, great to see you back here on YT! Would give Jack a treat were I there. Was there once back in 1965 as an Exchange student. Beautiful country you have! Thanks! Dave in USA
😎👏👍saludos mr simon desde chile es increible el rendimiento que le saca al hw 77 al ser un rifle de resorte muy buena jornada de caza de plagas un abrazo para jack 👏👏👏
Absolutely brilliant video Simon. It is nice to have Jack assisting with the intro. I'm an old springer shooter, literally and figuratively, and I'm loving you spotlighting the HW 77. Cheers from Texas, more videos coming soon I hope.
Great shooting Simon, good to see Spotter Jack again give him big hugs please.
Great video , keep up the good work , my pellet of choice ( pretty much fornthe last 35 years ) has been the RWS Superdome, have worked like a dream in all my HWs , currently using a HW95K for my pest work .
Those rats from the first place should start their own Pink Floyd cover band. "Hey teachers! leave those rats alone. All in all, you're just another rat in the wall." LOL Thanks for another fun video.
Great shoot Simon.
I shoot my springers off sticks all the time. Great sport and accuracy, good to see Jack.
Some very very good shooting there Simon. The 77 does perform exceptionally well- can tell just from the movement (or lack of it) on the reticle.
No regulator issues, no power curve, no magazine issues, never ran out of air- superb!
Possibly dropped a few pellets in the mud and one or two in the action though?
Great bit of pest control- keep it up 👍🏻
Lol ye did i
Yet another great video well done, and good to see old Jack still part of the team, albeit probably curled up at home!
great shooting. you seem to be enjoying the hw77 springer. do you like the "pressure" of just having 1 shot? lol. reminds me of that jean Claude van Damme movie "hard target" where lance Henriksen's character has a pistol that just shoots one bullet at a time. it's clever as it implies he's an excellent marksman and only needs 1 shot.
Ye Jimmy obviously i can't reload as fast but i still love using that old fashioned rifle all the same.
that was awesome. Hi from Canada.
That 77 is a peach. You'd expect a bit of a jump when the piston releases but hardly a blip to the sight picture. Nice work mate, very good.
AWESOME! Great to see "Jack". Oh, and BTW, nice video.
Don't worry about negative comments, I post magic and balloon modeling videos on Tik Tok and I have had to turn OFF the comments because of morons saying inappropriate comments.
Great shooting Simon...had a little chuckle when the rifle shot out raspberries at the same time as the pellets...give Jack a hug (and a sneaky treat from me🍗)...I'm afraid my Chocolate Lab Kally is in much the same way as Jack and so precious...
cheers from Scotland 🙋♀
Great shooting as always, thanks for the video. Cheers from Minnesota
G'Day,,as usual nice shooting,
Brilliant to see "Jack" again,But some of us don't always under stand the lingo,,
as for me,,the new stuff has me stuffed,,Like 12 foot pounds verses 30 foot pounds with a 26 grain projectile,,just want to know, ifin i shoot it right it will be dead and Not run around for a week or 2 before being dead,,
Mind i don't have the luxery of having Pounds to buy new gear,Have always wanted a .22 air rifle, but with stiff Australian Gun control,Knokcking a couple of "Minor Birtds" of the perch is a major crime, not killing the pest,,but having a "Air Riffle"
Not the Gun?/but the nut behind the trigger,,That determins Life Or Death.
AND Most IMPORTANT,,""The Target""
That's plenty of meat for a tasty rat pie... In Victorian Britain rich and poor ate rat pie (says Wikipedia). But I'll maybe just stick to chicken and lamb. Good shooting Simon.
What a fantastic video Simon keep up the good work and keep them coming 👍
Thanks 👍
simon, you should think about a new puppy ,It won't hurt so bad when jack passes over the rainbow, we have done this for years and it still isn't a replacement for our beloved familily member it lessons the pain...
Man there were a lot of rats-and big one's too. The only place I've seen bigger rats is in the White House. 😂
There were so many I think Stevie Wonder would have even had a successful night there.
Good on yer Si, take no notice of the snowflakes’ comments previously. Daz (ex Boltonian) now in Brisbane.
Simon are you having any trouble getting the videos approved !
Hi Simon! Thanks for the reply 👍 ya man I just got a strike on my channel for posting a video that was manually reviewed and approved for all advertising 🙄
Nice shooting simon carnt beat a good springer with a nice bit of glass get the internals right and the trigger pull set you have a brill combo for life keep up the good work all the best fred.
Brilliant shooting! The gun and scope combo are really impressive.
Nice shooting. I have the same gun. It's not fast, but it sure does shoot well. Good hunting
Great shooting. Night. Cold. Chatting 🙂
Thank you it's been a while since I saw a rat hunting video with a springer just shows you don't always need a high end pcp to shoot rats
Love springers got the hw 98 it’s fantastic ,great we vid good shooting
I think jack was insulted when you said he was too old 😅 he was ready to go
Another great video Simon. That 77 is doing the business for you. Good to see his lordship too. 🙂
Thanks 👍
Nice video mate, as usual. Some of them rats had balls like a clydesdale horse, Jesus. Keep the great work.
This guys great, straightforward, humane, and a good character. Lovely video.
