I think all boat owners should have one of those tools used by plumbers. It's a long, extendable coil with a camera on the end of it used to look down drains and also one with a magnet. I them both they come in handy.
We have one and you can see that we used in the video. It’s called borrow scope to look in the engine!! I guess it wasn’t vey clear. 😊😊😊 thanks for watching and for commenting. 🤩🤩
Aren’t they awesome!! Unfortunately they don’t take care of bugs which are still present in hoards of murderous pests. Fruit bats in Fiji, especially in the Lau Islands, munch on bananas, papayas, mangoes, breadfruit, guava, figs, and even coconut flowers. They love sweet fruits and nectar, and they help pollinate plants while snacking! So, watch the bats and keep bug spray handy 🤣🤣🤣
How do you know what is acceptable to give as a gift? Also you said you had to take off your hat and glasses, is that a custom or a sign of respect? Beautiful video
It’s a longstanding tradition. Kava roots are the only acceptable gift for visitors to be allowed in the village and in the surrounding waters. Other items will be also welcome, school supplies, rope, fishing implements, and in some places cash. But Kava is mandatory. It is customary for women to wear long skits, long sleeves. In stricter terms men should also wear a “sulu” a wrap around skirt similar to a sarong. No hats or sunshades. Thanks for watching and for your comment 😊
And who said Fabio wasn't handy?!? Good thing Gary was available to talk him through the filter mod. Fabio might have to grow out his beard to full Gary-bushiness as a way of saying thanks🤣
Are any of the mushrooms cut enough and have fallen over?? Can you get any night sky views/timelapses - I bet the skies are great there at night? Donate for a Dream
Great question! We have not seen any evidence of fallen mushroom rocks. Probably they have, or with time they will. The night sky timelapse would be certainly fantastic!! Thanks for watching 😊😊

It’s customary to bring kava to the village chief at pretty much all of the outer Fijian Islands to request permission to anchor by their village and visit their land & water. It is also customary and a sign of respect to remove your hat and sunglasses. Women have to cover their shoulders and wear a long dress or skirt. We talked more about it in this video. 😊😊🤩🤩🙏🙏😍
Wow, great location! What was the depth? Would a full displacement vessel be able to make it in there?
It’s great isn’t it! Yes, you can go in with a full keel, just need to be careful. May best if you follow a good track from a previous boat. 🤩
Wow, those huge bats were the last thing I thought you would see. Given the number bat's and Unless they eat plants, that should mean lots of insects?
