Ti Manno was a head of his time! His song lyrics were and still are right at the Haitian social issues. Changing the world for the better, union and peace, since back in Africa we were fighting like dogs to survive (see the movie “Django unchained”) where black Mandingo were fighting each other until deafened just for one to survive). Gossiping, rumours, and dead wishes, worshipping the politicians and the elites that is the motto of the Haitian people. I remember Jean Claude Duvalier and his acolytes ritualistically used to toss money in the streets just to see people fighting for it. Ti Manno’s songs, and Liberation Theology with priests’ like Arthur Volel, Jn Baptiste, Jn Marie Vincent, Julio Nau, Jn Bertrand Aristide to name a few contributed greatly to the overthrow of the Duvalier regime. Unfortunately, the job is not done yet. The mentality of the Haitian people haven’t changed. We need more Ti Manno to motivate the Haitian youth consciousness and less of T-Vice and Nu-Look that are poisoning their mind by flashing money, women and champagne in their music videos for everyone to see. What ever happened to his kids....they said he was under nurished...did he have the virus...cause back then...people did not know much a bout the virus....or maybe he was poisoned....R.I.P. TI MANNO!
