synopsis:
ಹಳ್ಳಿಯೊಂದರ ನಿವಾಸಿ 'ಗಂಗಣ್ಣ'ನ ಏಕಾಂತವನ್ನೂ, ಮದುವೆಯ ಅವಧಿ ಮೀರುತ್ತ
ಬಂದಿರಿವ ಆತನಲ್ಲಿನ ದುಗುಡವನ್ನೂ ಎಳೆ ಎಳೆಯಾಗಿ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಡುವ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವನ್ನು 'ಬೆನ್ನಿಗೆಲ್ಲಿಯ ಕಣ್ಣು' ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೀವನದ ಗತಿ ಬದಲಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೇಟೆ ಸೇರಬೇಕಾಗಿಬರುವ ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೇನೋ ತಲ್ಲಣ.
ಹಾಗೇ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಬಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಗಂಗಣ್ಣನನ್ನು ಊರಜನ ಹೇಗೋ ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ತಾನು ಕಾಲ್ಜಾರಿ ಬಿದ್ದದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಆತ ಹೇಳಿದರೂ, ಆತ ಬಾವಿಗೆ ಹಾರಿದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಊರವರು ಆಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಯಾವುದು ಸತ್ಯ?
ಗಹನವಾದ ವಿಷಯಾಧಾರಿತ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಜನರೆದುರಿಗಿಡುವ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವನ್ನ ಈ ಕಿರುಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
Shortfilm 'Bennigelliya Kannu' aka 'uncover' depicts the lonely life of a man in a village. His struggle to find a girl and get married increases day by day. He is also confused weather to move to city and change the pace of his life.
One day he's seen inside a water-full well and gets rescued by the villagers. He claims it was a mere slip and fall by mistake, whereas the people around say he jumped into well. What's the truth?

Very nice short movie.. ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ನರೇಶ್ & ಆ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಹುಡುಗನ ಆಕ್ಟಿಂಗ್ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ..
ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಬರೀ ಒಂದು ನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ.. ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವು ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಕಾಣ್ತಿವಿ.. 35-40, 40-45 ವರ್ಷ ಆದರೂ ಮದುವೆ ಆಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಹುಡ್ಗರಿಗೆ.. ಹುಡಗನಿಗೆ ವಯಸ್ಸಾಗಿದೆ, ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂದಲಿಲ್ಲ, ದಪ್ಪ, ಸಣ್ಣ ಇದಾನೆ ಹೀಗೆ ನಾನಾ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಮದುವೆ ಆಗಿರಲ್ಲ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊರಗುತ್ತಾ ಕೂರಕ್ಕಾಗುತ್ತಾ..? ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸಿರುವಂತೆ ದೇವರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆ ಒಂದು ಕೊರತೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಚಿಂತೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡ್ಕೊಬಾರದು.. ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಮಹಾನುಭಾವರು ಮದುವೆ ಆಗದೇ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ಹೋಗಿಲ್ವಾ.. ಹಾಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಮ್ಮನಾಗಬೇಕು ಅಷ್ಟೇ..

Story is awesome.... marriage has become very difficult now ...not only for village side....in society only searching boys and girls are becoming very tough... perspectives of life has changed...both are well educated and will have nice job and girls are working so they don't want to go to village or spend time in home like homemaker and take care of elders and children..so marriage is becoming very tough responsibility

Excellent thought provoking short film. For the current problem, I feel root cause is girls don't want to lot of work in the village homes, and also there is no entertainment or places they can hang out in the evenings. I can think of one possible solution.
Towns like Kumta, Sirsi are the places where these people should think of settling down. These towns are very close by to villages, where people have ancestoral homes. These towns are pretty well developed to satisfy education, medical needs and entertainment needs. Thus settling in such towns provides easy access to their villages, thus helping them maintaining their lands and also satisfying their daily needs. Thus girls will also have no problem marrying them, since not much of daily chores in town life. Please let me know your thoughts.
