The miniseries was heavily inaccurate, one of the main issues with that show being that it used faulty sources, turned a 55-year-old Deputy Chief Engineer responsible for supervising equipment tests into a villain, and a 49-year-old Chemist and Protégé of the Physicist and Principal Designer of RBMK, Anatoly Aleksandrov, into a hero.

Just watched this: stunning, nauseating and a must-watch imo. (Makes a good Trilogy with the historical drama "Chernobyl" and the post-apocalyptic documentary "The Babyshkas of Chernobyl".) The Lies, Lies, Lies... and suffering.

start choosing Ukrainian transliterations over russian. it’s spelled ChOrnobyl and it also holds a lot of value to Ukrainians in these hard times.

I recommend anyone to watch the superbly done miniseries now. Even if you have seen it already. The juxtaposition to the current Russia's offensive war in Ukraine is ever so intense. It shows you how Russia has not moved a single inch forward since the USSR times. Remember the soldiers digging trenches in Chernobyl in March 2022, everyone being lied to...it is truly bizarre watching it knowing what is going on right now...
