20-30%. Look at a plague tale and far cry 6. They're the only like for like comparisons, not all that exciting for cards that are still poorly priced. There needed to be bigger uplifts. Skip these and wait for the refresh, these are not the cards we're looking for lol. The 5070ti will probably perform close to the 4080. Better off finding one second hand when they drop in price any day now and wait for the refresh, that what I'm going to do
The VRam situation is actually crazy because games are getting higher and higher I don’t know. I just wanna know a side-by-side comparison and tested on all the settings compared to the 4090 because I just got my 4090 like two months ago and only got it so I could future proof but I don’t plan on getting the 50 series no matter what but still would like to know
The amount of nVidia praise out there is crazy. I can't believe how ready people are to fork over 2k for almost no uplift at all. Almost all of their increases are *_software!_* LOL! Idk what happened to my original comment, but youtube seems to hate it when I say accurate things about nVidia. 🤔😅
Mate, I'm not sure if they've already improved frame generation or if it's just me, but I was playing Hogwarts legacy tonight with 175FPS solid @ 3440×1440p Ultra settings, RT, Ultra, DLSS quality, and frame gen on. Getting lows of 170 FPS. And my monitor capped at 175 FPS in NVCP. Same settings with DLAA native, and no frame gen got 100fps on average with 120fps down to around 90fps. No noticeable latency! You gotta test it again!
I've found that frame generation doesn't really feel bad when you're starting at 100+ fps, but when you are starting from around 30 fps it feels pretty awful.
Nice video! I can't wait for the benchmarks. For me, there's no point in upgrading because I don't see any games worth upgrading for besides the old titles that I've already experienced with my 7900 XTX. I think people have got a bit of that FOMO.
Nvidia halted production of 40 series cards, so they're running out of stock fast. So if 50 series cards are unavailable due to scalpers, and the only way to get a 40 series card is through the second hand market, which will probably still jack up the price since the 50 series isn't available, then we might enter a period of time where you just can't get a good GPU without way over paying. That's my fear, personally.
Unless Nvidia brings some mind blowing raster performance, I think things may go south. There is a reason they didn't talk about it and we need to wait and find out. Multiple frames generated will do nothing for stuff that relies on real time information like online games if those frames are the wrong information presented. Idk, we will just have to see if Nvidia messed up here.
They showed 20-30% uplift on the only 2 games that are like for like comparisons, and they both had RT which is supposed be a bigger uplift than what raster was. So we could be talking 15-25% increase or less in raster for some of these cards without RT lol. Even if they are 20-30% that's not all that exciting after such a poorly priced generation. It needed to be like the 3000 series after the horrible 2000 cards. The 3080 got a 50% uplift for the same price as the 2080, that needed to happen again to be worth it. Not maybe 20% on average lol
i think 20% is good jump as long prices are not going up. u generally want either to either wait at-least one gen and buy same tier card or buy tier up of next gen
The ONLY thing we know is that the price is better than expected. I'll wait to judge until I see REAL benchmarks on Jan 29. I'm cautiously optimistic. And no, the 5070 will not meet or beat the 4090. The charts are worthless. 😊😊
Anyone with minimal math skills should be able to see that the 5070 and 5070 TI are nothing more send new renditions of the 4070 super in 4070 TI super, and roughly costing the same price. (somehow no one seems to remember these cards exist all of a sudden) All that's being offered here is some AI mumbo jumbo, and the new DLSS is going to be backwards compatible, so this is all pretty much joke. People are talking like AMD is cooked, they're in a perfect position to actually give good deals rasterization performance. The 9070 XT will match the 5070 TI and cost $550, the 9070 will match the 5070 and cost $450 And FSR 4 will win the framegen battle and it'll boost all the cards we already have so everyone should just hold out for a few months.
Good reflex hw for sw observation, good assessment, thks. 5090 has legs entering a new dev cycle, ha, and 5080 w/DLSS 4.5? Nvidia FE price is at the low end of the range of what is possible; $1999, $999, $749, $579 mirrors Ada run end price for 80/70ti/70. But they are not production and sales distribution chain cost : price / margin sufficient at risk production through the initial "producer's ramp' for recouping development cost plus whatever retail and other end sellers will add on their own margin aim. The general marginal cost rule is when volume doubles, at peak production volume, cost halves. This mean the price can be adjusted down IF TSMC, Nvidia and producer marginal cost savings are passed down the production and distribution sales chain 5090 out the gate will be priced for professional use at so said x2 performance over 4090? GB Blackwell represent run end pricing on the price models. Possible for Nvidia out the gate on their own cost : price of GB but not for AIBs that will price higher on that extra step in the production chain which encompasses incorporating Nvidia dGPU kit margin cost offset into their own design production cost. Nvidia mark up on 10Q is + 75% albeit for hardware alone around 52ish%. So Nvidia price is an example of 3rd degree consumer discriminatory pricing where some slim volume of 5090/80 FE will be pulled forward in the supply schedule at producer's risk production ramp, to cement GB run end 'fake PR price' that is not feasible for AIBs + retail until Nvidia past peak 'consumer supply elastic volumes subject marginal cost improvements, on material input volume and learning, approaching 'run end' clearance for 90/80. Where GB full stack AIB sales to sellers will subsidize GB 70ti/70 price as does 4090/80 for 4070ti/4070 currently. Nvidia hopes their own MSRP acts as a regulating price cap but time has shown AIBs will do what they need to do for their own cost : price / margin effectiveness that must be sustaining over the long run. The only time I know of that Nvidia has used their cost of FE supply advantage was in q1 2022 when FE is oversupplied to break the channel cartels 'inflated' post HPC Ampere end seller to end buyer gouging price AIBs and retail will rely on their 1st degree price objective meeting their own margin requirements overall through GB full run. Intermittently FE will be released but never more than 5% of all Blackwell produced on TU/GA/AD full run volume data and best Nvidia not piss ODM/AIB's off cutting into their specific Blackwell sales. FE represent 5% of all TU/GA/GB each respectively, so if you want 5090/80 at $1999 and $999 be prepared to camp out in advance of retail sales to get one at what is their risk production 'lottery price' for that showing of desire or wait another 20 months for 'run end' pricing. I estimate between 500 K and 1 M FE availability out the gate Nvidia averaging 20 M units per quarter Geforce production. mb
Taking 4070 as the 100% reference, 5070 (131.3%) Roughly equivalent to 4070ti super (129.7%) or 7900xt (130.4%) Taking 4070ti as the 100% reference, then 5070ti (133.2%) Slightly stronger than 4080s (123.2%) and 7900xtx (123.3%), significantly lower than 4090d (146.2%) Taking 4080 as the 100% reference, then 5080 (133.2%) Slightly stronger than 4090d (122.1%), but the gap with 4090 (128.5%) is very small.
You're taking the best case scenario form these benchmarks im assuming ( a plague tale ) what about far cry 6 ? Which has somewhere around 20% ? Lol the average between games could be close to 25% or less for all we know
Honestly, we are going to have to wait on real world benchmarks to tell if this generation is going to be meh or horrible. Pricing and castration of features to optimize (from a sales perspective) and (over)reliance on Upscaling and Frame gen to "fix" the self inflicted performance hit might not look so bad if actual performance shows significant real world gains. I'm skeptical of any Nvidia product. In all fairness, Nvidia's actions over the past 4 years in the GPU market justify some skepticism.
I bought both the 3090 & 4090 new. The 5090 could be in the ballpark of nearly $4000 Cdn which prices me out. $2500 Cdn is around my limit. (We have nearly 15% in tax on new items, and our dollar is currently tanking.)
Dude that 5090 is a monster wow. Eventually I will get one but imagine that thing will be wiped out so quickly even at $2000. 5080 is a much better price overall. We will see how much better it’s going to be when compared to the 5070ti. Thanks for the video erock!
They're just going to throttle production and claim it's selling out. Most people are pretty vocally done with nVidia if you look around other tech channel's comments.
is the 5080 really going to be only 1000 usd? I am sure in the shops it will not be 1k :S If the 4080 super supposed to be 1k and its more expensive in the shops, no way the 5080 will be available for 1k

There is no way the 5070 = 4090. Just wait for reviews before you spend your money. Amd bs marketing needs to study nvidia bs marketing. Jensen is a GOD.
Uhh the benchmarks are pretty clear dude lol. The first games aren't using MFG and the rest are. Pretty simple, basically the only like for like comparisons are far cry 6 and a plague tale, which only should around a 20-30% uplift at best ....which would put the 5070 around a 4070ti lol. Obviously the 4090 comparison was with MFG on the 5070. Honestly I'm not excited by any of these cards, I think people are just blinded by the prices not going up like everyone was saying...which i never believed. It was lol just to make the real prices seem ok. Obviously it's worked on some people but the reality is they're still poorly priced like the 40 series and the uplifts are 30% at best from what they've shown. All they've done is move cards up a tier. So a 5070 is not what the 4070ti was, the 5070ti is what the 4080 was etc. Not impressed at all lol I'll buy a second hand 4080 when someone drops it for cheap and wait for the refresh. Frame gen is not something I'm interested in
Actually, no, the benchmarks are not clear. I think the chart is unclear. Steve from GN thinks it is unclear and said so in his video. Tim from Hardware Unboxed said something similar. My Patreon Discord members are all saying it is unclear. So are you the only person who seems to properly understand these charts? We can all see that some games are using Frame Gen and some are not. But everything is muddy here. First of all, Nvidia should not be using DLSS to compare to DLSS. This is point of confusion number 1. The charts will say "4K" but really it is upscaled from a lower resolution. Then Nvidia is using Performance mode which is like why? That mode is by far the worst on image quality and not indicative to what most gamers use. Performance mode was only used to artificially make the numbers look better. Then we have all the frame gen slop. You can't compare single insertion frames to multi insertion frames. It is not a like for like comparison. Next up no one in the industry is using numbers for TOPs. It's always been TFLOPs. Finally, Nvidia is trying to compare FP4 to FP8 which again is not a like for like comparison. So no, respectfully I disagree, these charts are not clear or fair or accurate in anyway. For the record, I am also not a fan of fake frames and I do not think the 5070 will match the 4090 in raster. Even if it did, the VRAM would limit it.
@@ErockOnTech mate, it says in the fine print. the first game doesn't had DLSS or Frame gen, a plague tale it says it only has DLSS3 which means no frame gen. the rest had MFG in 4x mode. i never said they're good benchmarks but only an idiot would be confused by them. i never said they should be using MFG against the normal FG. Ofcourse its sketchy and not like for like, hence why i said only the first games are useful for like for like comparisons. The benchmarks are useless besides the first two games, but it says in the fine print...ALWAYS read the fine print when it comes to this shit. AMD is just as bad with it, look at what they did with some of their cpu benchmarks ( using a weak gpu at higher resolutions etc. to compare against Intel) from what i saw tim had no issues with the charts and understood only the first two games were like for like lol
@@PCgamingbenchmarktime I appreciate you debating with me on this. I did notice a mistake I made. So let me clarify. For starters, I know to read the fine print and I did read the fine print. The fine print to me are the words at the boom. Not the green words under the bars. The words at the very bottom explain the MFG etc. However, there is no mention of Far Cry 6 at all. If you do see Far Cry 6 mentioned in that specific area then we are looking at different charts. With that being said, I do see my mistake. The green words. Far Cry is only RT. I looked it up and Far Cry 6 doesn’t have DLSS. It only has FSR. So in that one and only one benchmark. It’s a native RT test which shows the 5070 is faster than the 4090. Lesson learned. However, it’s also eye opening. RT is more demanding. So why not show the performance gains over native? My thought process is because when RT is turned off, I bet the 4090 is faster or at least the same speed. RT is faster on the 5070 due to the newer RT cores. As for Plague tale, I’m not overly interested in DLSS comparisons. I mentioned in the video at the start and at the end that it was very late for me and I rushing to get the video done and I was tired. So naturally things like this can easily be overlooked. Perhaps if your initial message had a different tone I would have realized my mistake sooner. But outside of Far Cry 6, I think all of my other comments are still valid and for the most part these charts suck. We need independent testing which I plan to do. I’m curious. Why do you not make tech videos? You clearly are eager to talk about this stuff. Thanks again for chatting with me.
@ErockOnTech a plague tale is like for like though. Both comparing with dlss on performance, so even if you don't like dlss it's still a like for like comparison. So only the first games can be used as a guide. The 5070 is no where near the 4090 in anything without MFG. not sure why you think that, I think you're still confused with the benchmarks. The 5070 looks to only be 20-30% faster than the original 4070 that's its being compared at. Both have RT on , the RT uplifts obviously aren't that big if they're only 20-30% ahead of the 4070. They're probably testing with RT because the raster improvement are even less
@ErockOnTech and yes we do definitely need independent testing 100% and I'm looking forward to that, as for making actual videos...that's too scary haha. I applaud you got having the guts to do it 👏 not for me though. Takes a lot of work and patience to do it
The bottom line here is this; you are NOT buying a GPU for PC gaming any longer, you are buying an AI chip pretending to be a PC gaming GPU. Let's see how these will all be garbage in two months trying to push 575 watts over those garbage 12V HP connectors.... Not buying....
Come on man, the RTX 5070 is not a RTX 4090. The RTX 5070 has half the VRAM and they used the 4X (!!!) frame generation against the RTX 4090 which uses 2X frame gen.
For the record, I do not think the 5070 will match the 4090. I even said in the video that if it did match the 4090, then the VRAM would still be an issue. I mentioned the 2x or 4x to illustrate how confusing and unclear Nvidia's charts are. The laymen version here is these charts are not clear, they are misleading, and we cannot derive any trustworthy information from them.
@@ErockOnTech I don't need to I know what these cards are about its down to the software and AI only thing this card has different is ddr7 plus we have to wait for games to support it I'm keeping my 4090 not going any where near these cards

Letting the software do the hardware work cuz it’s cheaper for Nvidia but the fans eat it up saying you shouldn’t care about AI generated frames 😂
I'll test it again!
That might be it@@philrdaly
Rtx 4080 by the way using
Should i buy rtx4070ti super or 5080
We need to wait and see benchmarks of the 5080. But also, it depends on pricing and your budget.
@ErockOnTech thank you for your respond sir really Appreciate 🙏
Nice video! I can't wait for the benchmarks. For me, there's no point in upgrading because I don't see any games worth upgrading for besides the old titles that I've already experienced with my 7900 XTX. I think people have got a bit of that FOMO.
Thank you. Yes, FOMO is always a factor with any new product launch. But the games a person plays is a big factor and will vary per person.
Can we expect a drastic drop in the price of the RTX 4070 super following these announcements?
I can't say for certain. But I would assume so yes.
no, only drop in availability
Not maybe 20% on average lol
i think 20% is good jump as long prices are not going up.
u generally want either to either wait at-least one gen and buy same tier card or buy tier up of next gen
yup same thing as 20 series except not as bad
Yeah overall, time will tell. They didn't cover raster on the 4090 announcement either. But that turned out to be a beast.
@@xwizardx007 The price did go up. $1999 instead of $1599.
Kudos to rtx 4090 people for accepting 65% money scam 😂
I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying it’s a scam to get the 4090?
The ONLY thing we know is that the price is better than expected. I'll wait to judge until I see REAL benchmarks on Jan 29. I'm cautiously optimistic. And no, the 5070 will not meet or beat the 4090. The charts are worthless. 😊😊
I agree on all. Wait for official benchmarks. 5070 won't match 4090 in raster.
2026 5070 ti super / 5080 super for me
Sounds good.
My screen goes up to 144 so I'm not worried about the mfg
I appreciate this comment. It gave me a new video idea.
@@ErockOnTech cheers!
Ig it'll be worth upgrading to a 5090 finally.
Let's wait for reviews.
This mean the price can be adjusted down IF TSMC, Nvidia and producer marginal cost savings are passed down the production and distribution sales chain
5090 out the gate will be priced for professional use at so said x2 performance over 4090?
The only time I know of that Nvidia has used their cost of FE supply advantage was in q1 2022 when FE is oversupplied to break the channel cartels 'inflated' post HPC Ampere end seller to end buyer gouging price
AIBs and retail will rely on their 1st degree price objective meeting their own margin requirements overall through GB full run.
I estimate between 500 K and 1 M FE availability out the gate Nvidia averaging 20 M units per quarter Geforce production. mb
Thanks for the detailed analysis, I appreciate the insight!
Taking 4070 as the 100% reference, 5070 (131.3%)
Roughly equivalent to 4070ti super (129.7%) or 7900xt (130.4%)
Taking 4070ti as the 100% reference, then 5070ti (133.2%)
Slightly stronger than 4080s (123.2%) and 7900xtx (123.3%), significantly lower than 4090d (146.2%)
Taking 4080 as the 100% reference, then 5080 (133.2%)
Slightly stronger than 4090d (122.1%), but the gap with 4090 (128.5%) is very small.
I'm sorry to hear that. That's rough for sure.
5070 Ti
Nvidia is up to their usual nonsense. Counted frame generation as performance increases 😂.
I'm not crazy about the multi frame generation. Looking forward to seeing real gaming performance.
I'm also looking forward to seeing real gaming performance as well.
Still better than AMD nothing burger
I’m excited to see what AMD has to offer for the 9070 XT. I just wish they made the announcement already.
Upgrading from a 3090 to a 5080 or 5070 Ti. The 90 series loses so much value over time, it's not worth it at all.
Dude that 5090 is a monster wow. Eventually I will get one but imagine that thing will be wiped out so quickly even at $2000. 5080 is a much better price overall. We will see how much better it’s going to be when compared to the 5070ti. Thanks for the video erock!
Thank you! Yeah man $2,000 is a lot of money for sure.
They're just going to throttle production and claim it's selling out.
Most people are pretty vocally done with nVidia if you look around other tech channel's comments.
Dang son only posted 30 minutes ago and I wasn't able to be first this time 😭
Dang son is right. You think it takes me 30 minutes to get one comment? You're killing me bro. LOL jk.
Cant wait for the 5090 benchmarks
is the 5080 really going to be only 1000 usd? I am sure in the shops it will not be 1k :S If the 4080 super supposed to be 1k and its more expensive in the shops, no way the 5080 will be available for 1k
It depends on your market. The 4080 Super is $1000 USD for me in my shops.

@@xwizardx007I’m sorry to hear that. What market are you in?
There is no way the 5070 = 4090. Just wait for reviews before you spend your money. Amd bs marketing needs to study nvidia bs marketing. Jensen is a GOD.
The used X4 frame gen for the 5070 in the benchmarks vs 2X frame gen for the RTX 4090. Yeah, Nvidia is being dishonest again.
I agree the 5070 will not equal the 4090.
The thing is. If u wait the price is just gonna go up like crazy. May aswell buy it and sell it if it don’t perform how u want it
Uhh the benchmarks are pretty clear dude lol.
I'm not excited about all the Ai talk either.
F me. I wanted a 5090 because it's the only card that makes sense for AI but 575W??? I don't want to burn my house down.
Fake frames, no thank you
Jensen aint a gamer he thinks we will be fine with high latency and drool over the ai frames
Reflex 2 is meant to lower the latency. But yeah all the Ai stuff is getting old.
Come on man, the RTX 5070 is not a RTX 4090. The RTX 5070 has half the VRAM and they used the 4X (!!!) frame generation against the RTX 4090 which uses 2X frame gen.
He literally said what you typed man. Relax.
@@TheRealDlo He literally said he did not know if 2X vs 4X frame gen was used.
@@TheRealDlo Thank you.
Raw raster is partially irrelevant.
