    It looks so easy when Thor is training. Looks effortless, thereby No injuries, No ego lifting. Love it! Progression.

    • @anthonyproffitt5341
      @anthonyproffitt5341 Рік тому +4

      Yes. Been watching him for 4 years now, and he stays to script, and trusts the process. Who knows how he was 10 years ago, but he definitely believes in the process at this stage. Difficult to progress if your recovering from injuries all the time. His overhead strength had become elite level as with his squat and deadlift. To bad he never got the chance to max log or axle the last couple years of his career.
      I hope Rogue or Arnold’s has the Tbar squat and a max overhead in 2024 and gives the athletes 6 months heads up of the events. Would be awesome to see Strongmen pushing the squat over 1000#.

    Lieber Hafthor Bjornsson, vor 40 Jahren hätte ich mich gefreut wenn du mein Trainer gewesen wärst…!!! Heute bin ich fast 62Jahre alt und werde dir leider keine Konkurrenz mehr machen können…😂 Ich finde du bist ein großes Vorbild für junge Menschen niemals aufzugeben und immer das Beste zu geben! Sounds like you got a solid plan. I really like the fact that you show the warm up sets. As an older lifter (60) I find the warm up sets critical to avoid injury. I wonder if the haters realize that they are just giving you motivation? Probably not, they're not that smart. Must be working though, because you're getting crazy strong again. Keep grinding. His best raw Bench is 280 (with elbow sleeves) and best raw Deadlift is 360. He twice got injured while training Bench and his grip is considerably weaker than Hafthor's. hello Thor i am very overweight around 30 stone and you have inspired me to got to my local gym i tried the bench press today i didnt put any plates on and i struggle to be honest felt embarrassed but it was quiet in the gym . my dream is to at least have some weight on the bar one day but i was advised to do a bench press twice a week , do you agree with this for increase of strength ?

    • @devonsmith4764
      @devonsmith4764 Рік тому +10

      If you're significantly overweight all you need to worry about is getting active and getting your body moving comfortably in the beginning. Don't worry about how much is on the bar, you can start with light dumbells for 8-15 reps. Full body workouts or upper and lower alternating days work well for beginners to get active before pushing highly specific single muscle group days. Hit every muscle a couple times a week and you'll be making lots of progress. Just showing upto the gym is the first accomplishment. Don't be embarrassed to struggle, only be embarrassed when you skip the gym because it's too hard. Good luck!

    • @Hafthorjulius
      @Hafthorjulius  Рік тому +82

      Honesty just do bench press once a week. You are new to the gym and you need to get used to the stress on your body. I’d say train 3-4 times a week. Move more, do 10 minutes walks few times a week and eat healthy. Good luck on your journey.

    • @willh1655
      @willh1655 Рік тому +2

      The most important thing is to keep active, walk, swim, stretch. If you want to lift weights, as a beginner, do lots of reps and learn good form. It takes a few weeks for the nerves in your body to adjust. Once the lift feels good or easy add some weight. The weight on the bar is not nearly as important as consistency with good form.

    It's awesome to see Hafthor get back into strength sports, but I'm also worrying about his health... he looked so much better when he was boxing, so much healthier... to get back into strength sports, he's going to pack on a lot of weight, and he's also going to have to increase his "vitamens", which I fear may have some very real impacts on his health.
    I don't know what strongmen take exactly, but I imagine it's pretty heavy... I just hope his body can handle it. For his sake & his family's.

    Thor do you do BW chin ups? My bench went up by 20lbs pretty much focusing on building up strength in that area..not that you need more advice because I know you've got the Aussie in your corner and your knowledge of course 👍
