@@nbassasin8092 strictly speaking, anyone who makes it to the league is a great athlete. The usual connotation of the word super athlete would be attributed to a LeBron or Jordan.
What I was getting at was that he never RELIED on his athleticism to get to the league but instead had to be mentally stronger than most of the league to make his place. Which is a good sign when considering what makes a good coach.
Typically, super athletes tend to struggle teaching the game because it's hard to do what a super athlete can do if you're not one. Not all of course.

I do agree with most of what you said, and you are right about him not relying on his athleticism, and generally him being below average NBA player when it comes to just physicality and being athletic
but "super athlete" IMO is anyone who spends decent amount as part of the main rotation in the NBA, not just those who are among greatest players of all time
from 6th man on team upwards, everyone is super atlete, sometimes even 7th and 8th man, because that is essentially only the 1% of 1% of 1% of all basketball players, no need to make it even more narrow

JJ has a great analytical mind. I’m super excited that he’s “gonna use math”. Not a Lakers fan but I’m gonna start watching Lakers games next season.

When JJ was at Duke for 4 years he ended as one of the best college basketball players of all time. When he retired after 15 years in the NBA, he ended as one of the best shooters of all time. When JJ is done coaching, he will be known as one of the best coaches of all time. When he is put in a position to be great, he exceeds expectations. Let’s not doubt or second guess his greatness now. Let’s go JJ time to work!!!
