I’m a bus driver myself and in my opinion, cleaning up vomit is the WORST. that’s why I keep a box of vomit bags in the back of my bus. I tell my kids to not touch them unless they need to throw up. if kids are at the front of the bus, I pull over the bus and zoom back there to get the bag. I did have to clean up vomit a few times but I manage…

I’m a school bus driver in Ypsilanti, MI, and we have to deal with a different animal: winter. Additives have to be put in the fuel and we need block heaters to warm the engine because of how cold it can get. Coincidentally, it’s snowing as I write this, and wind chills will make it feel colder than it really is. And the seating is different in order to accommodate social distancing.

that bus driver is funny, I used to be a bus driver as I got my cdl a but couldn't get into a truck right away to be a truck driver, the kids I had on my routes were all pretty nice and behaved except for acouple, I got out of driving school bus as it just wasn't me and didn't want the stressful job anymore being a truck driver is who i'am and who I was meant to be, but yes when I was a school bus driver it had its days, and people worked with made for some good times

School bus drivers deserve respect
as a school bus driver i have a hard time believing this to some extent. especially the part about how hot it is out and none of the windows are down or the roof hatches are opened up for ventilation.
That Bluebird bus has A/C, front & rear. When working properly, the 2 units cool the vehicle down nicely. We got 10 of them this past year. Also, they are PROPANE powered. (You can tell by the GREEN 'bird' over the school door & driver's window. NJ says you need to be CERTIFIED to fuel with propane- as it is MUCH more flammable than diesel. We have a company that comes every 2 days to fuel them.
You must be in some rural Deep South school system then. Even here in North Carolina I have a 2023 Thomas c2 with ac. Haven’t had to open windows or roof hatches in years.

During training for my class B CDL,as soon as the hood was opened,the women all said "Oh, I don't know anything about fixing engines."
I was put in another group for telling them"Remember how we were separated boys from the girls on the first day of Kindergarten? The boys were being taught how to fix things & the appropriate cuss words.I don't know what the girls were learning."
That was a great video. Enjoyed it. I learned how to fuel a propane bus, too. We have some in our fleet, but I still run a conventional diesel. Only those with the propane buses were taught how to fuel them.

My mom was a bus driver and I sent this to her and she thought it was funny and true. She was only a bus driver from when I was a freshmen in high school to a year after I graduated (I'm 19) since she went to a different department of the school district she works for. I also rode the bus from 6th grade to around my senior year. I had some good and bad bus drivers. I love my mom and I do agree bus drivers deserve more respect.

LOL !!!!! Our school buses were Thomas Vista 3000 and Internationals (we did have FORD and I was stuck with one as a kid during a time UGHHH I hated the sound of their engines but they had awesome air brakes)
Vomit happens, it's not that bad in the end. We all have a spill kit, or if it's really bad the shop has a hose or the school has a janitor (in the morning at least.) Also if a kid says they are sick, I have a bag for them. To bad they usually don't say anything.
