@@irlredline7965 It had nice acceleration but I was never able to go over 75 in it due to it being my test. Felt pretty fast even compared to some muscle cars ive driven.
I have a 2013 LT and love the car. As for those saying it is slow, while it is not the fastest thing I have ever driven, it is certainly capable and moves when I need it to. I think the turbo helps out a lot with that little engine, although it is a low pressure turbo. The car in this video is really nice. The only thing different from mine is the RS package/trim and leather seats, which I really wish I had. Fantastic and solid car overall. Great gas mileage and performance/reliability. I just hope the brand doesn't suffer too much from the recall just announced due to randomly shattering front-passenger axle shafts.
That is very understandable. The first generation Daewoo Lacetti was designed by GM Daewoo. The second generation Daewoo Lacetti is the same as the Cruze but sold in other, primarily Asian markets. The Delta 2 platform is a global platform and this car is made in several different countries for several different markets.
these been out awhile in south korea"around 2 years" ,GM Daewoo has been building these ,GM builds these in ohio with mixed parts from germany, korea and the states
Great vid! I've been hearing good stuff lately about GM, and while this is an improvement in performance/quality/features, they are still behind competing manufactures with vehicles in the same classes.
2013 LTZ and I love it. The engine has more than enough get up and go for daily driving. Plus it's reliable and gets ridiculous gas mileage which is really useful in the city
I love your videos!!! Very professional, mature, and well detailed. Do you own a dealership in your city as I saw in some of your other videos? I like the Cruze it's definitley a nice car.
This is one of my favorite videos, and I am going to buy one for myself maybe after two years of owning my 2012 Civic EX Coupe I would trade it in for a Chevy Cruze LTZ or a 2013 Malibu LTZ. It's the trim that I want and the color that I want and all except for the Navigation.
Hey Kyle, normally I don't always make requests much, but I'd like to see if you can try to find the Mazda MPV. I've been waiting for a while (2 years lol) to see one, and you're actually one of the few channels I watch
DUDE YOU DID THE EXACT SAME COLOR AND TRIM LEVEL AS ME IN MY OWN REVIEW OF THIS EXACT CAR!! haha Well done once again! Though if I was to have a new Chevrolet, I'd get a Volt..I'm completely won over by that car!
I work with selling these, amongst other Chevrolets, brand new here in Sweden. We only get LS 1,6 (Manual), LT 1,8 (Manual/Automatic) LT 2,0 Diesel (Manual/Automatic). They're nice cars and priced really well. Where I work we sell around five to eight Cruze a month, not all that bad considering Chevrolet is still a very unknown brand in Sweden.
I bought a 2011 RS. It's a very nice car. Problems - Serious Turbo lag, AC is not up to most cars, real MPG is 31 Hwy, 27 City. The lag when taking off will get you killed so be smart. Compared to my other cars, it's a different world. It is better than the 2011 Focus so kudo's to GM. I have 7100 miles on it and it's in the shop monday for an engine noise. So I will be back in my 2006 Type X for a few days which is an impeccable car.
To all comments about the rev limiter, it only limits the rev in automatic cars while in park or neutral to 4,000 rpms. The same goes for any automatic in a ford or dodge. Japanese cars are limited at like 5,500 to 6,000 rpms
for a first car is great. This car is really safe. has 10 standard Airbags. 5 star both crash test [front- Side}. plus if you get the LTZ and RS package you get an attractive car? its also fuel efficient and fun to drive. I have mine and I love it. I Never want to sell it. I keep it for life
Well the Cruze does have a lot of trim packages for different budgets. From no A/C to this lol. This car along with the new 2012 Focus actually has me liking compact cars now.
I know the studies are not that easy (even if i don't do them in this same job as you do) but I hope, even if it is very utopian, that you will always do reviews on the new car, affordable or not for the middle class people, that I'm in... Sorry for my English again, but I'm learning this beautiful language... Please correct it!
Push-button start became available in 2012, as did the passive-unlock/lock. Oddly enough, the start button on 2012 Cruze models is rhombus-shaped, but the one on 2013 and 2014 models is circular.
I rented a Ltz recently and believe me, the 3.6 liter v-6 has more power than you expect, the car had 26k miles and was about a year old. The power steering had a wine and the a/c was sub par on hot days.. also the tip tronic manual shift mode did not work. I know it was a rental but it still had a good few issues only being a year old at most. Save your money, look elsewhere for a full size...
*For all you reading this* I just topped out at 128mh/h on the local boulevard just now, for a four cylinder, this is a truly bad ass vehicle. keep in mind the speed limit is 45mh/h. :) gotta live.
Also look at the size of the engine. Its a 1.4L. They used a smaller engine to get better fuel milage then turbo charged the engine to make up for the lack of power.
It actually means it will be very easy to improve. Some cars puts up to 150hp/L, it would make a 210hp cruze without sacrifying too much the reliability. Plus the cruze is very well balanced and at ease on track. I hope the adac will replace the 1.8 by the 1.4 turbo.
I recently driven the 1LT and wasn't all that impressed. Then again I'm coming from a family who primarily own V6s and my parent's Mercedes. The car felt dandy in city driving but gutless once you get on the freeway. The small 1.4T also appears to struggle to get the AC going at ~100F degrees. However just as I finished driving the 1LT I got a chance to drive the 2.0 Diesel version, and that one blew me away. It is MUCH more powerful and has MPG ratings to die for. I just wished it wasn't so expensive & the lack of the RS appearance pack makes the TD version rather dull looking.
i had a test drive of this car and im quite impressed by its performance. chevy did a great job in building this car. i wish to buy this baby, but im afraid about its durability and reliability.
I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze LTZ RS with Navigation, a sun roof and the Pioneer Speakers. It has 71000 miles on it and I haven't had a single mechanical problem with it. It is just as reliable as a Toyota and Honda vehicle.
Ashley Lawrence so far so good. I bought my 2015 Ltz, for 22k out the door with 25 miles( now at 13k) and 7 year warranty. It has great power and suspension comfortable but more on the stiff side; avoid potholes (this car is a rebadge German car). To get good advertised gas mileage, drive speed limit and siriusxm is better than Spotify and Pandora. Downsides: Gas mileage is great if your light on your feet and just ok with aggressive driving (30-40mpg). Also, I'm 6'2 and I feel I need a bigger car. Lastly, there are some cheap plastic on the side panels. Overall 7 year warranty and 2 year maintenance. I feel it was a great buy.
Wow, why is there so much hate for this car? Is everyone being paid off by Ford or Hyundai to say bad things about the cruze? Ive sat in all three cars and they are all nice for what they do. And that is coming from a GM fan.
The RS package is only an appearance package, consisting mainly of sportier front and rear fascias, lower side-skirts, and the spoiler. The RS package has no bearing on other features. As it stands, push-button start wasn't available at all during the 2011 model-year, so that's why this car doesn't have it. But on 2012 and later models, push-button start is standard on every Cruze LTZ.
@Scorch1007 I think it is the "RS" package that kills the highway mpg. It is supposed to be able to get 42 in the "Eco" trim which uses the same engine.
Thats odd we have a 2012 model and its circular...very well pleased with the car. Getting 30.8mpg in the mountain area. Had the windows tinted and all is great....I do wish the the manual shift had more of a bold indication rather than the small number/letter in corner of screen.
I think most come with on star . so nothing to wrong. i drive one, and people who say there slow. . dont see me passing everyone on the freeway, going up north ! it does 80 mph very smooth
@flipfloplogic I think what may cost more is that Chevrolet, I know, put in an extra effort to make this car feel like a luxury car while driving it and to do this they added a lot more sound deadening material in the Cruze. This may cost a lot more. If you have driven the Hyundai Elantra, it is not very quiet inside when on the road. Lots of road noise.
I'm not trying to criticize you Kyle but you should use a better camera instead of a simple point and shoot. Check out the superzoom cameras, they take great video. Such as the Powershot SX30 IS.
@giannial1985 @bleachatchatpark Yea, the cruze is supposed to redesign the back cushions to help out for 2012, at some point they might put a bigger engine in the cruze for the north american market, in europe it's also offered with a turbo diesel, buick version will have over 2.0 200 hp, when it comes out fall time.
I drove a Cruze with a turbocharged engine a few years ago for my driver's test. So much power in that thing. One of the most fun cars I've driven.
Those cars are slow asf
@@irlredline7965 It had nice acceleration but I was never able to go over 75 in it due to it being my test. Felt pretty fast even compared to some muscle cars ive driven.

Daniel Colasuonno can you change that turbo to a high pressure one?
These things are amazing. I had a rental one, it was quiet, refined, and sat at maybe 2500 RPM @ cruising speed.
Test drove one of these today, great little car with fantastic fuel economy!
my parents have this car, station wagon with the 2.0 turbo diesel. It travels miles without ever giving a problem, a fantastic car
That is very understandable. The first generation Daewoo Lacetti was designed by GM Daewoo. The second generation Daewoo Lacetti is the same as the Cruze but sold in other, primarily Asian markets. Dude, it seems like every time you do a video, you have awesome music coming on the radio! Comfortably Numb!
I can't wait getting one this weekend.
Very nice Chevy. Everyone who has one, loves it.
these been out awhile in south korea"around 2 years" ,GM Daewoo has been building these ,GM builds these in ohio with mixed parts from germany, korea and the states
My favorite Chevy sedan! Nice review bro.
I own this car and I love it. Great for the price...really feels like a much more expensive car than it is.
Great vid! I've been hearing good stuff lately about GM, and while this is an improvement in performance/quality/features, they are still behind competing manufactures with vehicles in the same classes.
This is very nice compared to the one my dad had. It was the base model. I like this car. It is also very smooth
2013 LTZ and I love it. The engine has more than enough get up and go for daily driving. Plus it's reliable and gets ridiculous gas mileage which is really useful in the city
Dealer dependent for service, I bet
Nope
toyoscio Try again
toyoscio LOL no.
Love your style "review". Well, not quite a review, but extremely informative. Glad I subbed.
Im getting a 2012 chevy cruze ltz tommorow im so happy!!!!
David361 how is it after 4 years?
Just got a cruze 2lt with RS package about 3 weeks ago. Love it so far.
I love my 2012 LT/RS!
+WRB I'm loving my 2012 LTZ RS. :) The RS really makes it.
Hey Kyle I just bought one of these Cruzes today and it's this trim but the car's crystal red tintcoat I love it.
I sat in one of these last Tuesday, and I have made my mind up that when I graduate I want a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze LTZ RS that is The Candy Red!
so did you end up getting one
J how bored are you
Caleb Rinehart Was just curious. Im getting one on monday
I love your videos!!! Very professional, mature, and well detailed. Do you own a dealership in your city as I saw in some of your other videos?
I like the Cruze it's definitley a nice car.
I can't imagine this ever being a Cobalt in the past.

Car of the decade++

Great vid as always Kyle!

It may not be the fastest car out there but that's some pretty damn good fuel economy.
this is actually a very very nice car
I've watched this about 10 times!

Chevy just did such a nice job with this car. It seems like something you'd pay a lot more for.
Had a Cobalt it Sucked, Now Have a 2012 Cruze It is AWESOME!
Any issues?
Good review like always! U think u can do one of the 2012 cruze with the new navigation screen? Thanx!
am I the only one who actually anticipated it's debut when it came out?

My 2013 with 6 speed manual is friggin' great.
love Pink Floyd and my Cruze
Very nice! I like it
I thought it was bad to rev a brand new car's engine, but yet you do it in every video..
i love it i will buy it very soon
I feel like this car is completely outclassed by it's competitors.
I don't much care dor american cars but chevy is stepping it up keep it up!

I love this car my dad just sold his 3 months ago :(
Depending on which options you choose, you're looking at something around $22,000~$25,000

nice car
but were u comfortable while setting on the backseats ???

nice find how do u like it
kyle, how much longer for the viper video? im dying to see that :)

car that my parents just bought today :D
Hey, Kyle, did you hear about the reveal of the all new 2013 Chevy Malibu? It's a lot more fully loaded than the previous generation.

yay new cars :)

you need to do one of the 2012
Nice videos

@HarwoodTech its for in the summer or winter to warm up or cool off the car before you get in
nice car
@cupramac Ecotec engines were used in American cars for years also, Saturns and Pontiacs had them.
I love how all the cars at a dealership are always on "E".
Redstorm_BK2 no need to fill up every car when it’s gonna sit for months. They only fill it up when someone buys it
You have to on all modern cars. I think there's some safety regulation from the US Gvt that requires it.
