- I installed Windows XP on a desktop computer and changed the HDD and battery. Fastest Windows XP computer ever. It has a 80 GB Maxter HDD in it.

We had that exact monitor and mouse when I was a kid. The sound of that click is unmistakable! :)

Yeah, it has the most hits ever in windows! Even we have two windows xp at my school. The one pc is windows 7 and the other XP but it was older than xp

I love Windows XP!
My favorite OS in the history of Windows! I’ve been messing with one of my older XP laptops, but installing drivers for the machine to get audio, wireless, etc is a pain cuz it doesn’t wanna install any of them from the CD. Still works like a new PC!
This one will install the driver, but I later realized that it has no sound card in it.
Mine installed all of the drivers, but dummy me I forgot to install a sound card. So now everytime I get certain prompts, the motherboard beeps.
get snappy driver installer, will fix your winXP right up!
my grandfather built a xp pc which was darn powerful for that time. It had Pentium 4 and an nvidia mx graphics. he is very keen for technology
I miss my old laptop with Windows XP, my dad broke it for unknown reason. I loved playing games from Windows XP, and now, I really miss it.😢 I am now with Windows 10.

I used to see a plethora of those machines in schools and businesses a decade ago, down to the fact it has a Vista sticker but was downgraded to Windows XP complete with era-appropriate peripherals also from Dell

I used to have a Windows xp laptop that used to have Windows 7 on it but now it has windows 10 on it. I’m enjoying the wininit command, because it pops up a blue screen of death
oh there's a new version of winXP integral, it has mypal browser.
I see it runs Windows XP Integral Edition, which is a Windows XP modification with interesting themes.
i used it for a decent amount of time. it wasn't bad but it did seem to bug out and require formatting about once a year. i switched to windows 7 when i realised my laptop would run much faster using it. it was a pentium from the core2due era so the operating system not taking advantage of the multiple cores kind of held it back. too bad web browsers don't support this operating systems.
XP is fantastic, but win7 is the last matrix free OS
win10 is pretty well malware

Sweet! I'm trying to restore an eMachine I got years ago for free. The RAM is dead, and the iGPU is most likely dead as well. Fortunately low capacity ram is dirt cheap. It's also missing a hard drive, and the CD drive is busted
did you use the Dell Diagnostics CD first to install the diagnostics partition on the hard drive before installing XP?
I actually didn't. I put the Windows XP install iso onto a jump drive and just installed it. The version I used has a special SP3 format and I added several themes as well. You can make it look like Windows 7. It origanated from a regular Windows XP install disc. I copied the themes from another install I ordered online. I was going to install Windows 98 considering I have the second addition disc, but the motherboard runs SATA, which is not compatible with 98. I hope this sorta answers your question. I changed the battery and put it into safe keeping incase we had a economy crash with Windows 10 or 11.
Believe me the 80gigs hardisk is the most reliable one.

Yes. I have some with Windows 10 so I can stay on the web, but I needed a office like PC with older style tech, so I went for it. Eventually I need to install a sound card, but this will do for now.

yo i have that for 2007 to 2018, but now i had changed my pc to win10 with better pc setup

Say what you want but being a 2000s kid was the golden age of technology that modern kids missed out on I remember when the computer labs in School ran on Windows XP and I remember playing the original Sims growing up I hate modern gaming for a reason.
The reason it is only showing 3gb of ram is more than likely because you only have a 32bit version of Windows XP installed. It doesn't matter how much ram you have installed in the machine. If it is a 32bit version of the operating system it is only able to use up to 3gb of ram.

Yeah, I am way behind. It's a good thing this is not my house. I keep my house clean year round. Please excuse my mess. I will look for another storage in the future to ease my clutter. But till then, this will have to do. Take out my model train collection and my box fan collection, it will look better.

I changed the HDD because it was bad. It had a Seagate Baracuda in it originally when I got it from the flea market, but it was bad, so I switched it. I was fixing to order one when I found one in a bag of old hard drives. Knowing that it already had a version of XP on it never used because it had a bad registry file, I reinstalled XP.

@@TechnoMinded-qp5in Yeah, that's why I made this. So when the world ends for computers, I will have a PC that can help bring it back to life. And to store my private documents. With Windows XP, you can put passwords on some folders.

Actually, I am an Aries/Sagittarius. Aries is my personal one for my exact birthday, but I was born in December making it Sagittarius. Anyways, Windows XP can be used without a product key as long as you don't connect to the internet, so my most important documents are kept on it. You know how hackers are.
