- Customer newest purchase. This bass is completely factory and has a great sound. I couldn’t really play-it because of the high setup but this is a great sounding bass to say the least with its factory 2 band eq. Because the pickups are not noiseless, customer may be upgrading them soon.
I have been seeing 👀 these basses of late. Definitely has a good tone for stock pickups and electronics
I have the same bass. Switched to EMG pickups and preamp.

Is that neck supposed to be Roasted Maple? I agree with you, it has a really nice sound. But I can definitely tell you're fighting with the action/setup. Thanks for posting even through the struggle...

What pickups would you suggest upgrading the Michael Kelly with?
If the single coil noise doesn’t bother you, I would only upgrade the preamp to a 3 band for more tonal control. If you’re wanting noiseless pups then you have quite a few options out there depending on your needs.
I played this exact model at Sam Ash. It's a great sounding bass but to me, the neck is too narrow.
