Idk about you guys but I really think that this is about a hidden relationship, it’s almost obvious (possibly between Harry and Louis or Zayn and Liam... or even someone outside of that) for the purpose of this comment I’m gonna say for instance it’s about H and L or Z and L... the lyric “cause we are who we are, when no ones watching” as well as “I’m not allowed to talk about it” both support this theory for obvious reasons.
Okay next... the lyric “don’t look around cause love is blind; and darling right now I can’t see you” implies that the singer loves someone but the lyric is somewhat cryptic... possibly alluding to having to be secretive in saying ‘I love you’.
And finally... the chorus lyric “I won’t mind, even though you’ll never be mine” solidifies the idea that people are not letting them be together and for that... the relationship would never work out. I think that this song is basically saying ‘I know it would never work out because they don’t want us to be together, but at the end of the day, I love you, and we are who we are so let’s just savor as much as we can get’ idk if I’m crazy for thinking that’s what it’s about... but the lyrics explain itself and it would make sense that a song like that would never be released. Idk just a theory.

I’m not exactly a ziam but this is 100% about a secret relationship that didn’t end well and Wasn’t exactly 100%… if that makes sense? Like “you’ll never be mine” I think it wasn’t exactly a committed relationship but Def a loving one. What I say is- it’s probably a ziam song, if the shoe fits let it 🤷🏻♀️.
