That conch at 1:34 has THE most frightening eyes of any sea animal (besides the chambered nautilus) that I have ever seen. I can’t even look at them!

Great video, Nick. I had a Fighting Conch for about 4 years. When I first introduced him into the aquarium, my Flametail Blenny went down and bit his eyeballs off, the little twerp. The Conch is now gone and the blenny remains. I am a little shy of putting another one in the tank.

Earl Harman Nasty blenny. Did that happen at the start or end of the 4 years?

That started at the beginning, shortly after I put him in the tank. That conch was a real war horse. I was rearranging some live rock in the tank and somehow he got trapped in the rocks. I couldn't find him and figured he died in the back of the aquarium. I lost one of my corals between some rocks and moved them to get the coral. The conch was there, trapped by the rocks, and I figured he was dead, so I put him on the sand. In a couple of minutes, he started moving across the tank, to my surprise. I am getting a new tank which will offer a larger substrate plain for one to move around on, if I decide to get another, but I worry about that blenny.

I found a sea snail on a huge rock in Cuba. There were thousands of them. I named him Hugo. It had a green rougher shell.

Well, if that ain’t a BIG letdown. All these years I have been thinking that the flame scallop was surging with electricity to illuminate its’ delicate orange lips to find out that it is simply reflected light. Thanks a LOT! DAMN It Man!
