We Played PokeDoku With A FUN TWIST!!

- Zane, Josh, Will, and Peter play PokeDoku with a fun twist! A regular PokeDoku board consists of trying to guess a Pokemon in 9 squares where a Pokemon makes sense for both respective categories. In our version, I made the categories take on silly names so the players have no idea what the real category really is! Will they figure out what the categories really are? Or will they just take wacky guesses? #pokemon #pokemoncommunity
This actual PokeDoku board is live on PokeDoku's website for 24 hours on June 10th! After that, it will still be playable in archive mode for another 2 weeks! Don't miss out! I've linked their website below!

Oh also yeah Dracozolt definitely deserved a full point! Everything I was looking up at the time kept saying no but he should in fact have gotten a full point (I knew I’d overlook it for someone) but the good news is Will would’ve won that either way
Know can u at least explain what the left one were cause i'm tripping over the definitions😭
"He put shell on head. He put shell on butt."

If that quote isn’t on a shirt of mug, it’s a missed opportunity.

For anyone wondering because nobody decided to put the sideways ones
forever sweaty = water
Better than everyone else = Hoenn
Tremblin' thighs = can learn earthquake
Goes both ways = dual type
Better off without me = trade evo
Peaked in High School = middle stage evo
I was half right with my guesses! I call that a win.
clamperl and sobble are both water but got X'd and chansey is technically a middle stage evolution and also got X's for peaked in high school.
@Zonose Clamperl isn't a dual type, Sobble isn't a trade evolution and Chansey isn't a water type. They have to meet both criteria for the box they are in.
@@xdragovian2655 OH I see! Sorry for trying to correct, I assumed you only needed one of them, I got confused by slowpoke and forgot it was both water and psychic
I was gonna say better than everyone else was gen 1 cause of how the fan base can be, glad to see gen 3 getting some respect
“Onix after he pawns all his body segments” would make a good “who’s that Pokémon” - just the head could be Carvanhas shadow
There's something so hilarious, about us getting literally no hint whatsoever what any of the top categories are about because Zan just handed every answer a point. lmao
I mean, you can only get a Snover point if the answer was already incorrect for the actual board. So it still absolutely gives some form of hint, basically as if everyone was wrong.
I'm actually so confused.
Better without me is trade evo
But I thought goes both ways was either regional form or split evo but it's neither
And I don't get in peaked in hs....
@@kettern4719 goes both ways is dual type i think
@@kettern4719 Peaked in hs is middle evo
@@kettern4719 Goes Both Ways is just dual type

For clarification, I did actually get to make 2 PokeDokus! One of them has 6 non-silly categories (that one is not connected to the board we play in the video) and then the Other PokeDoku I made has 3 of the 6 silly names we actively used in the video!
I'd like it if you can reveal what the categories were at the end if you do something like this again.
Especially since the answers will be lost to time
I don’t know if you’re still searching for what the categories are, but forever sweaty is water types, better than everybody else is pokemon from hoenn, tremblin thighs is pokemon who can learn earthquake, goes both ways is pokemon with dual typings, better without me is pokemon that evolve on trade, and peaked in high school is middle stage evolutions
@@PapyrusTheSke1etonwhat's the reasoning behind the Hoenn thing? I don't get it.
@Rundaltonrun pretty sure hoenn is his favorite gen of pokemon!
For those looking for the Pokedoku, make sure to click on the "bonus" option on the front page! The three side categories are given on the website, but for spoilers:
"Goes Both Ways" means "Has a dual typing"
"Better Off Without You" means "Evolved via trade"
"Peaked in High School" means "Middle stage evolution"
Thank you! I could not figure out what the top categories were and it was really annoying me tbh. Even seeing the answers I could only figure out the third clue
Dude, I don’t think I would have gotten any sleep without knowing this. Thank you, that first one made me feel like I was losing my mind. As an aside: “Better than Everyone Else” is literally unsolvable without the Pokedoku reveal, letting your bias swing the game Zane???
I was so incredibly sure that “Better Off Without You” was Pokémon that can use suicide moves… I know it’s a messed up thought but cmon… and it was reinforced by the pokedoku suggested solve cuz the suggested pokemon could all learn explosion or self destruct!
I knew goes both way and peaked in high school was that.
My guess for thw other 3 are:
Forever Sweaty: i think its water type.
Better Than Everybody else: Maybe dragon or fairy type, both are strong. Steel is possible too.
Tremblin' Thighs: I think its Dark or Ground.

I like the idea of Snover points but they become kinda meaningless if you give them out to everyone every time. Instead, how about limit to one each round with the players voting on who had the best explanation to give the point?
Small bit of constructive critism, for a next time please consider making the snoverachiever points not cover the entire Pokémon picture underneath it. Part of what makes a video like this fun is being able to think along at home. Having to keep 22 Pokémon in memory because they are completely obstructed is not the most viewer-friendly design decision. ^^;
Agreed - and they shouldn't change what position each contestant's choice is in. It should be consistent the entire time, regardless of speaking order.
Zane just giving up and giving everyone a participation medal each round is what I'm here for
Lol did the Pokedoku, I didn't do very good, but I stuck with it and finished it after I figured out what "Peaked in Highschool" meant.
weird i tried to do it and it didnt have those categories. it was just actual things like 2 were a type and one was a region
jk you gotta select bonus
@@Godofthemyths you have to hit the thing that says bonus, it's at the top of the page :)
Please explain what better off without me is. I got every other answer but I’m currently looking at every possible answer for this prompt and can’t figure out for the life of me what it means
@@bleachedpenguin6131 I think it's either trade, item or trade item evolutions, cause the correct answers I got for that are Slowking, Huntail and Politoed in descending order. edit: looking at the possible answers for the bottom square, it's trade evolution, otherwise Gigalith and Golem wouldn't be possible, the reason Milotic is a possible answer for Hoenn-Better off without me is because from gen 5 onwards the trade with a prism scale held became the alternative evolution condition as the removal of contests meant the removal of the beauty stat which otherwise needed to be maxed. Both conditions apply in both ORAS and BDSP I believe but other games since gen five require the trade evo.
I am so impressed with all the different types of games you've been coming up with. They're all so interesting and makes my brain hurt trying to figure out how you think of all this 😂😂😂

Honestly doing the PokeDoku first and then returning to watch the video really made it a whole lot funnier.
Goes both ways was the one that took me the longest to get cause i thought it was something else expecially since slowpoke was a correct answer
I thought "goes both ways" was split evolutions and picked Poliwrath, Gardevoir, and Appletun, all of which are dual types. I accidentally got the category right.
You should try to live stream one of these quizzes some time.
Agreed! 😉

love how snoverachiever points snoverachieve by completely dominating this game. snoverachiever points are self-referential!
Parts of onix pieces getting pawned off and eroding over time and molded into now known as dunsparce 😅
You could nerf Snover Achiever points by limiting them to only one person getting one per round
Trust me once we saw how powerful they were by the end of the game we all agreed on that too hahaha
was actually kinda hard but I figured out a few categories
Do you think they meant to put 11:59 AM instead of PM?
No this weeks is intentionally a midnight premiere because the PokeDoku will be available to actually on PokeDokus website for 24 hours after the video premieres!
@@ZaneGamesss That is absolutely fair! Amazing video btw, and I cannot wait to see how everyone does on the PokeDoku themselves
But wait, Slowpoke isn't actually a valid answer for any square.
Slowpoke is a valid pokemon for forever sweaty & better off without me, since forever sweaty is water types and better off without me is pokenon that evolve via trade isnt it? @NerdyZanoth
finally watching this cuz i fell asleep right before it dropped
Dude upon hearing the start of the video i had to check out today's pokedoku.
I cant believe there is actually a special mode for this!! Thats so freaking cool!!!! Mad props to both you and the pokedoku team!!!
It took until round 2 for everyone to abandon actuality trying to figure out what the categories meant and just answered them literally 😂
Love it! Awesome work guys!
Thank you so much for allowing this to exist!
I can happily say that I solved each of your categories. Unfortunately I couldn’t figure it out with enough remaining points to fill out the rest of the board.
well, i managed to figure out goes both ways on my own, but couldnt figure out the other 2 top ones lol
18:56 Dracozolt also gets an actual point, because it fulfills both categories
It doesn't learn earthquake though.
What were the actual categories supposed to be? Since they don’t match what the PokeDoku is at all.
You have to do the bonus pokedoku. I can't really help you on what they are though (except the 3rd one).
From the bonus pokedoku: row 1 is "water type", row 2 is "hoenn", row 3 is "can learn earthquake", columns 1, 2 and 3 are still the names in this video but I believe column 1 is "dual type", column 2 is "trade evolution" and column 3 is "middle stage"
@cobiscobby1 That makes sense. I thought 2 was that it had a split evolution until I got the third one wrong. Nincada and slowpoke worked together to trick me.
The twist isn't the category names. The real twist is the Snoverachiever points.
My argument, why Mewtwo is better than everybody else: Mew has the DNA of all Pokemon and Mewtwo is the upgrade!
So I thought that the bonus pokedoku was just the normal one with different category names so I quickly switched to the bonus but not before seeing dragon as the first column. So seeing the first column named goes both ways, I was like "that makes sense dragons are super effective against dragons". I then proceeded to pick 3 dragon Pokemon for each row and got them correct. Do seeing slowpoke as a correct answer blew my mind. It wasn't until after that I figured out what the category actually meant.
And here I thought I was smart and that I'd figured out dragon. I'd only seen water type before swapping. Only got that column lol
I was wondering what would happen if they chose the same pokemon and then ig we found out finally
I got penalised for trying to answer Galarian Slowpoke (for bottom left) while Kantoian Slowpoke was on the board, which I feel was a tad unfair. Sure, it was a tad cheeky, but nothing said regional variants counted as the same mon. So... just be aware of that while answering.
if you've ever played pokedoku, you'd know regional forms and megas count as different answers. Also, Galarian Slowpoke wouldn't fit the Goes Both Ways anyway
Galarian slowpoke doesn't count because it's no longer a water type. Normal slowpoke is water/psychic, galarian slowpoke is just psychic. So it loses on forever sweaty
@@Mariokemon
I have not. But you're right, I was most likely misled on what the category actually was.
@@InfernalNiek
The row category I was going for was 'Can learn Earthquake', but as pointed out, I am most likely incorrect on the column's meaning.
Same, answered Poliwhirl on Tremblin' Things (learns EQ) and goes both ways (Poliwrath/Politoed), got it wrong... Rip puzzle
Based on the Pokédoku, I'm pretty sure Dracozolt was actually a fully correct answer? Anyhow, fun video and fun pokedoku
If you don’t feel like trying it out for yourself, here’s what I’m pretty sure the categories are:
SPOILERS
Forever Sweaty - Water Type
Better Than Everybody Else - Hoenn
Tremblin’ Thighs - Can Learn Earthquake
Goes Both Ways - Dual-Type
Better Off Without Me - Trade Evolution (Post-Evo)
Peaked In High School - Middle Stage
So was this supposed to be in the morning or near midnight?? EST by my clock
Specifically this weeks vid is yes intentionally a midnight premiere
@@ZaneGamesss ahh Thank you for clearing that up!
Arkoos is a reference to mandjtvs pokemon talk episode where they called arceus arkoos and it has been popular on his channel
okay i fell asleep whilst watching so were going in for a second watch
“Mellyotta” took me out 😂
So Better off without me is trade evo, and Peaked in high school is middle evo, what is “Goes Both Ways”?
A little disappointing that PokeDoku still gives the clarification warnings for the silly categories. So it becomes pretty clear what they are just from that
Would’ve said Mewtwo foe goes both ways and trembling thighs
My guesses:
Forever Sweaty -> water type
Goes both ways -> regional form
Better off w/out me-> evolves via level up ? Literally no clue
Peaked in HS -> single stage
Better than everyone -> legendary
Trembling thighs -> weak to ghost
Probably could’ve made better guesses but I’m doing this at the end of the video and everything’s rubber stamped with snover face
I solved the pokedoku but still never figured out exactly what better off without me was
I’ll have to miss this one since it premieres at 5 in the morning UK time.
You mean that I watched this entire video just to figure out what's the "better off without me" after I did the quiz on the site just to not give the right answers?! Good thing this was a fun video!
I think i figured out the top columns:
Goes both ways are Dual Type Pokémon
Better off without me are Pokémon that require a trade to evolve
Peaked in high school should be middle evolution Pokémon
I’m glad that i got no info on what the categories are thanks guys!
(Pokedoku spoilers)
So I went and did the pokedoku before watching the rest of the video - I actually saw clampearl first and then did it, and I couldn't get the idea of branching evos out of my head. But that wasn't it, so I thought of trade evolutions and smacked Golem into the bottom left corner for a win. This made me completely miss that the second column was trade evolutions because I thought the first column was, and I was having a terrible time trying to figure out what Pokemon from Hoenn evolve via trade that aren't Huntail and Gorebyss after those were marked wrong for me! I watched a bit more of the video and just became more confused when Slowpoke was right and Clampearl was wrong, and thought that I had just misremembered that Huntail and Gorebyss required trading to evolve. Then once the dual typing clicked I knew exactly what the second column was. Tricky tricky!
Btw Crabominable is just a little guy, don't hurt him :( (hes like 4 ft tall and 7 ft wide)
Fun fact, Brock wouldnt be "peaked in highschool" because he would be in highschool. Dude's only 15, Ash and misty are just short.
IM HERE EARLY!!! I wish I had friends to do this stuff with 😆
for goes both ways i thought it meant dragon type since its super effective against itself so i put all dragon types on the left and they all worked, and then i learned it wasnt dragon type and now im confused
If i had a nickel for every time i saw gym leader brock be guessed on a pokemon quiz where the answers are pokemon, i would have two nickels, wich isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice.
By now you should make gym leader Brock the correct anwer in one of these.

And mewtwo for better than everybody else/better off without me!
Quick tell MandJtv that he said Arkoos
Who wants to tell Zane that dracozolt should have got a correct answer and not a snover achievement point?
How dare Josh insult Robin. Otherwise great video 😊. Really enjoying the content
Why is this premiering tonight😢
The video and puzzle on PokeDoku’s website are coming out at the exact same time
Ok, i played the pokedoku before watching this
I didbt manage to figure out better off without me or peaked on high school, but i interpreted goes both ways as genderless pokemon, which all my guesses worked, but i cant figure out why some community guesses worked if that was the answer

Same thing with Kadabra. Its Psychic so it shouldve been a full point
I vote Melly Yoda!
I would love to see Pokémon charedes
Can someone please reply with the answer I wanna do the puzzle but I can’t figure it out 😭
So, “Better Off Without Me” equals “Evolved By Trading”, and “Peaked in High School” equals “Middle Evolution”. I’m not sure about the “Goes Both Ways” one. It’s either “Dual-Type” or “Has a Split Evolution”.
@@dreamfirefight9456 I think the general consensus is that goes both ways is a dual type because Clamperl is not correct.
Goes both ways, has an alternative/regional form.
Better without me, isnt in SCV or has been removed from an dex at aome point, peaked mid stage, better than everybody else either BST, legendary or literally just guys you like, tremblin thighs speed is highest stat or bipedal? Forever sweaty is water type.
...does Josh know what Boofing means lol
Play is my favourite competitor :X
No, Goes Both Ways is either Dual type or split evolution. I just used Nincada to get one of them.
@@dreamfirefight9456 Would you not consider nincada turning into ninjask and shedinja as a split evo?
Don't mind me, I just can't read properly.
Mine were guesses ;p
There no way goes both ways could be split or clampearl would be allowed, it’s gotta be regional form
But I used Nincada, which did work and doesn’t have a regional form. So I am guessing it’s Dual-type.
The noise I made when I got my first correct answer on Goes both ways and forever sweaty.
I guessed Surskit and it was a 0.7% answer!
Doesnt matter when the vid is i will BE THERE. Hashtag I have no life :D

“Better Off Without Me” = Evolve By Trade
“Peaked In High School” = Middle Stage Evolution
“Forever Sweaty” = Water Type
“Better Than Everybody Else” = Hoenn Region
“Tremblin’ Things” = Pokemon That Can Learn Earthquake
Anyone that wants to know the catagories here are what they are SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE THAT DOESNT!!!!!
Goes Both Ways = duel types
Better Off Without Me = trade evo
Peaked in Highschool = middle stage
Forever Sweaty = water type
Better Than Everyone = Hoenn Pokemon
Tremblin' Thighs = learns Earthquake
[SPOILERS FOR POKEDOKU ANSWERS]
I played the pokedoku before watching the vid so I'd go in completely blind. I got the 2nd & 3rd columns without a single wrong answer but I messed up on the 1st column bc I thought "Goes Both Ways" meant split evos instead of dual typing. Ironically, I chose Slowpoke for the 1st square, too, for the same reasoning so 🤝.
My guess what the categories are before watching
Forever sweaty = Water type
Better Than Everybody else = Legendary
Tremblin Thighs = Ghost Type
Goes Both ways = Dual Types
Better Off Without me = I have no clue. Maybe pokemon Ash released in the anime
Peaked in Highschool = Also no real guess, Pokemon worse than their Pre-Evolution. Edit, giving it more thoughts and what categories PokeDoku usually have it is probable either pokemon from Kanto since Genwunners peaked in highschool. Or Fossil pokemon since those peaked when they were still alive
My guesses for the categories before finishing the video are:
Rows: Water Type, Final Evolution, Fighting Type
Columns: Dual Type, changing this to trade evolution, Gen 1/Kanto region.
