I hope they stock it as well as they did the Mario Game & Watch.
There was stock issues every store I go to there are like 10 game&watches.
There wasn’t even an expiration date compared to the Mario One.

To be fair they also marked the metroid anniversary, there are dragon quest games coming for its anniversary and fatal frame 4's anniversary was marked too. Nintendo have done pretty well marking anniversaries considering there are so many happening at once.

Disappointing that there isn't more to celebrate Zelda's 35th, but this is still an awesome treat! It looks even better than Mario's Game & Watch from last year.
I think there will be more celebration in next year around the period of BOTW2 released.
Nonsense! Switch ports of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD for Switch have already been confirmed as "100% on the way", so it's obvious we'll be gettng more than just this!

That'd be a good one! If it's got the same button layout, I could see that one having _Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby's Adventure_ and _Kirby's Dream Land 2_ on it. But I'm not entirely sure which modified G&W game it'd have... _Chef_ with Cook Kirby, maybe?
I wanna say we should, and that’d be especially cool cuz we could get like kirbys dream land 1 and 2, adventure and even chef on there, but I wonder if they wouldn’t only because Kirby never actually had a game and watch game before, whereas Mario and even Zelda do

@Kirby lover Actually, maybe Donkey Kong could be next, though his most famous games are the DK Country series, which are SNES games, but I do believe the original Donkey Kong would be on there. Hmmm..... maybe Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. Donkey Kong (GB), and the first Country then. As for the Game & Watch game, maybe the one with him juggling pineapples in Mario's Circus.
I'm surprised they didn't use the DX version of Link's Awakening, considering it's in color. But, I suppose this will do.

Ummm, are we forgetting Skyward Sword HD? Age of Calamity dlc? BotW 2? (I'm including BotW 2, because Mario's 35th included 3D World + Bowser's Fury, despite releasing the year after the 35th anniversary).

The Mario Game & Watch ended up encouraging me to finish the game without cheats for the first time - it was actually a really neat little machine. I’m really looking forward to the Zelda version 🥰
i am also excited for the release of this game and zelda watch, however i would like it to be available in brazilian portuguese, nintendo has one or two games available in my language, i find this very sad.
Why would you cheat on a Zelda game it is fun being angry and then finding out the problem that’s what makes a puzzle they are challenging
@@Vinster1137 in the first one, there are puzzles you wouldn't think of unless you had the guide, level 7 cannot be beaten unless you bomb a specific area. Nes era games are notorious for relying on walkthroughs via Nintendo power since it mean't more money to them.

Nintendo remembered Zelda II exists. We can add that to the list that includes Famicom Wars and Metroid.
A Kirby game and watch would be cool, it could have Kirby's dreamland, maybe dreamland two, and Kirby's adventure.
Or better yet... A Kirby Gameboy.
Next year is Kirby's 30th aniversary
I'm pretty sure they are now making one of these every year as a limited edition thing or smthng, so a Kirby one is likely. After all it's like Nintendo's third or fourth most profitable series

It is unironically my least favorite Zelda game, maybe even on my top 5 least favorite Nintendo games. I just don’t find it fun to grind for an hour just to get one more hp

Funny thing is that Zelda did have a double screen Game & watch game back in the 80's.
@Vegesther DK Junior got 2 Game & Watches actually, (one oddly titled "Donkey Kong 2," which was basically the final stage of DK Junior, and had you play as Junior) and there's a Donkey Kong 3, Donkey Kong Circus, and Donkey Kong Hockey Game and Watch systems too.
@OctoScoryo probably to celebrate the Game & Watch's 40th anniversary too, and because the original '80s SMB & Zelda Game & Watches were USA exclusives.

Vermin on Game and Watch is the best game to play while you're eating lunch. Seriously. You just hold your lunch in one hand and play Vermin in the other. I've spent a few lunches doing that, and they've been pretty nice.

@@evanhaskel206 storage is so cheap nowadays, I can fit a couple dozen Switch games on an memory card the size of my thumbnail. They could put the entire 2D Zelda library on a game and watch if they wanted to.
Maybe a G&W with Mario 2, Mario 3, and Dr. Mario.

Why would you want a red, blue, and yellow one? They're all essentially the same game. Yellow, Crystal, and a spinoff game (like pinball or something) would make way more sense.

I don't think the limited production matters, as I was able to get a Mario G&W from Target today, and they STILL have more in stock.
I'm now patiently waiting for Mother G&W.
Just get it on a GBA cart and play it on a GB Micro, same difference.
They tend to use microcontrollers on these devices. Even a Raspberry pi has pretty hard time running SNES emulator, and we will gonna require that for Earthbound (now that I think, even Mother 3 might gave an, issue. Although it runs super well on Rpi 0). So, I guess this wouldn't be possible.

Honestly, this is better then the Mario version due to the fact that Link's Awakening is a great game from the time, and actually piqued my interest in this one unlike the other one.
Yeah the down side to the Mario game & watch was it didn’t have Mario 3 and I’m guessing Nintendo thought 2 8-bit games from the 80s harden difficulty wouldn’t be fun

@@lol-ih1tl I’m a little confuse with what you’re saying. For the 25th Anniversary they made Four Swords Anniversary Edition which was the GameBoy Advance game and brought it to the DSi ware. I think it would be interesting to do something similar for the 35th Anniversary by bringing the GameCube one back which was Four Swords Adventures. That game was so fun and would be easier to play multiplayer without the use of cables.

Yep, I wasn’t interested in the game and watch till I saw that Links Awakening was going to be on this latest version. So then I went to Best Buy and bought the Mario G&W. Can’t start a collection with the second release.

You should totally buy the Switch remaster it’s SOO much better. My guess is this Game and watch is somewhere around the $50 - $60 dollar mark which is the same price as Link’s awakening remake. Unless your a collector or plan to play the original, I think that would be the best way (in my opinion)

Maybe include "Octopus" as it's Game & Watch game, and replace the diver with Samus.
It probably wouldn’t have Super Metroid, likely just 1, 2 and some Game & Watch game with Samus in it. But eh, it’d still be nice and on par with the Mario one. I like that this Zelda version has 4 games tho

I been thinking about it especially for my job
I don’t have a phone and I need to see what time it is pretty often so this would be neat especially during breaks
I got the Mario one as a Christmas gift last year and just finally opened it up tonight. Can't believe I waited that long to open it, it's really fun to be able to have Mario available anytime, and I definitely can't wait to get to have the same option with Zelda. I hope Nintendo keeps making more of these new Game and Watches.

@@nicholaskroeplin81 yea I’m pretty sure sure the said “we won’t be doing anymore campaigns or games this year” or something like that.
That doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen. We might get individual ports in 2022. Or maybe even later with the switch pro(if that ever comes). We’ll just have to wait and see I guess.

I'm disappointed this didn't include the actual Zelda Game & Watch somehow. I would've even settled for the GBA version of it.
Didn't people criticise the Mario Game and Watch for not having the original Super Mario Bros Game and Watch game on it?
@@allthelonely4287 I think both were excluded, because neither of those G&Wes were released in Japan. I'd say "Vermin" is more fun though.
@@beauwalker9820I did not know that, although an argument could be made that these new Game and Watches could be a good way to introduce those games to Japan.
I didn't get the Mario one since I can play Super Mario Bros on nearly anything, but I might get this Zelda one.
I think the Mario Game and Watch was better then the previous Virtual Console releases. The colors and brightness were better and clearer too.
