I'm a mild hypochondriac and if I was a tatter I would have a panic attack every time I hit myself with a needle used on a client. Idk how much risk there is but since blood gets on the needle you're pretty much injecting yourself with a clients blood 🤮 Idk how much of a risk of disease transfer there is but that's one of gross aspects of tattooing I didn't think about much until this video.
Shirt cockin’ it had to be the funniest thing I heard on UA-cam all day. Jesus, if someone walked out shirt cockin’ it their tattoo is the least of our worries. 😂
That 9:00 part you said you be uncomfortable walking into that shop. Well that shop is first off in Thailand 2nd its a 100% by appointment only 3rd thats lily lu aka little swastika and his shop the people getting his MASSIVE pcs are not the tPe who are the "i dont really know what im wanting" they are there for his very extreme abstract work and there's no such thing as a little tattoo at that shop. Hope that helps
Maybe doesn't help, pcs i guess is pieces and tPe is a total mystery, could be the music choices and maybe drum and bass/jungle is not necessarily the music choice for steady line work which seems like it might have been part of the subject of discussion.
I don’t like the side leg tattoo that you liked in 12:26. I thought it was weird especially because it messes up the placement for a leg sleeve. Maybe that’s just me but I don’t really like it
That shop 10:56 their daughter has been tattooing since she was like 4 or 5 and it's wild to see this young girl in that environment turning out tattoos.
I sometimes wonder how that kid is gonna turn out, I mean probably fine, but she is surrounded by chaos all the time it seems. I can't help but wonder. Lily lu is a pretty wild person mentality wise, used to a guy who transitioned into a woman, and does some pretty extreme shit. I remember seeing pictures of him when she was still a man, and hadn't blacked his face and eyes out. I also hope she isn't exposed to anything too explicit early on in her life as well, as I know that Lily and her partner (who's also almost fully blacked out) are involved in/make very hardcore porn. One thing I do know is she will be an amazing tattoo artist, and will have more experience than basically anyone her age because she started tattooing so early in her life.
@@Aethereticbro literally read my mind. But only time can tell if their daughter will be happy with her life! I know Lily Lu is extremmmeee, like I recently saw their video on hiking and they mentioned how they just go up and leave for MONTHS to do these biking/hiking challenges while not really keeping in contact, so I can only wonder how their daughter must feel about that but I know they do care for their kid so really hoping everything works out!!
Having morals is a big part of tatooing.knowing when and when not to.i learned stick and poke for me and people want tats but I just tell them to go to a shop for better results.
I have to disagree with you on the "rug tatoo". It looks exactly like a persian rug. I imagine this is an arm of a Persion person whose doesn't want to write something in farsi and be labeled at first glance. Source: voices in my head. However, I agree...it will look like shit overtime. A giant red stain...
Yeah I disagreed during the video too, looks like embroidery or a Persian/Turkish rug and was pulled off very well. I've seen enough experimental work on Ephemeral Remys channel to know that might actually look fine in the future if it gets touched up again. It might also blob up and look unrecognizable too. 😂 That being said, I'd never get a tattoo like that, but whatever makes people happy.
I just got tattooed by Wayne @7:51 last Saturday in Las Vegas. He’s 100% what you see in his videos. Most genuine down to earth guy. It was really awesome getting a tattoo from him. Definitely give him a follow and get a tat.
As a drug addict in recovery... hitting yourself with a dirty needle that you were using to tattoo someone else is f*ckin crazy. You should treat that seriously "like one wrong prick" can forever change the rest of your life... and you so casually talked about it like it wasn't even a big deal... bro... brother that was alarming. Dirty blood in your open wound is terrifying to me. That's like my worst nightmare. You talked about it like you stubbed your toe. I hope you got tested every time that happened. Some blood born pathogens don't test positive for up to 1 year. You can get hep C, hiv... etc. Very serious stuff. It's not like "oops" I accidentally pricked myself with a strangers dirty needle... no big deal.
@@Bearzo23 Hell no, your tattoo artist should ALWAYS open new needles from the packages right in front of you. I've never had an artist that didn't open new needles right before tattooing me, and I feel like it should be obvious. No reputable artist is gonna pull some random ass needle from the back of the drawer
Regretfully, as a tattoo artist, its part of the job. It happens. I have the dots also. Hopefully your client is telling the truth on their release form in regards to if they have any blood borne illnesses or not. A tattoo needle doesnt pass the skin and into the bloodstream, so its much different that injecting with a used needle. On top of that, when it happens, the pressure is less if you were hunkered down tattooing a line. And after it happens there is nothing you can do about it anyway. Be careful or course, but all kinds of accidents happen. I’ve even heard of Doctors cutting themselves during surgery…🤷♂️
@mjriemen lol dirty blood doesn't need to enter your bloodstream for you to contract a blood born disease. I do not know where you heard that lol. That isn't how blood born pathogens work at all. It just has to get into an open wound. A needle poking into your skin is an open wound you silly goose. Your silly bro. Them poking a needle into their skin and then into your own skin is enough to give yourself any blood born pathogens that your client has. You don't need to get their blood injected into your vein lol. Yeah you just trust your life in the hands of a stranger and that they tell you the truth. The honesty policy with strangers... good way to die. This seems like a preventable part of the job. This seems like something people do out of complacency and being careless
I’ve been watching free videos online to learn and practicing on fake skin at home, but I already know there’s situations and details I’m missing by not being able to afford to quit my full time job to have an apprenticeship in a city an hour away. Unfortunately tattooing is an extremely limited career path
Let me just preface by saying that great video and love all your videos. Everybody is definitely entitled to their own opinions. My thoughts towards the 2nd video about the online course. I understand that hands on experience is infinite better than something you learn online. However, knowledge is just as good. I can see online courses as a knowledgeable learning curve to able to nit and pick what works and doesn’t work. Hands on experience is definitely different but not having knowledge how intricate an art can be especially it being permanent is crucial in the process. You don’t read a book just to read it, but to understand it.
When I see the red and black tattooing, especially the one in this video, it makes me think of clothing branding. not an icon like the Nike Swoosh (which would be so terrible to get anyways), but the word Nike, or the word Addidas or Gucci.... unless you're being paid $1,000,000 to advertise for that company, I wouldn't do it. Hell, I'd be hard pressed to do it for 10x that, but I guess if times were desperate..... red and black words.... nah.
