Man, you are the best freaking teacher here on UA-cam. Everything you teach makes perfect sense. I love how you include theory in your videos too. You're also really chill about everything, man keep on helping.
Thank you!
This dude is like a scientific music teacher. :D great stuff! needs more views no doubt!
I've been watching your videos for the last couple of years. I'm just now discovering your earlier videos. I'm impressed with your teaching.
lovin' the videos. so glad I found them. i like the way you deliver the information in a format that can be comprehended and put to use almost immediately with a little woodshedding. great stuff!
You made my day , thanks for posting and make it easy man!!! you´ve broken the myths of teaching modal guitar. Thanks again from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Man, I have said this more than once! Your videos are highly informative but also, your sense of humor is great!!! All your videos are worth seeing.
Great work!
I've found the best lessons on youtube. Great job David. Thanks!!
Great lesson man! Thanks for the useful material - I will be sharing this video with my students.
I've been teaching for years now, and you've been giving me lots of new ideas to pass on to my students!
Love it ! what a fantastic and effective concept explained very clearly and simply, really opens things up.
This was the most profound thing I have ever learned on guitar. I have applied this knowledge to not just pentatonic scales. I am forever in your debt for what you have taught me in this 6 minute video.
Walliman, Dude you rock!! Your explainations of the modes and the mechanics are the best on the web, Lots of others out there who really know their stuff are good, but when you explain things it just seems so clear! Thanks man, when i get caught up I'll be on your web site getting a few of your lessons!
That was a superb, absolutely fantastic lesson. Many, many thanks 🙏🏻
You are such a gifted teacher. This really opens up the fretboard
Excellent! So easy and so immediately useful. Thanks.
Amazing video. Thanks so much. I've been stuck in the minor pentatonic rut for ages and this shows a great way to move out of it!
wow you just bridged something together that ive been trying to figure out for at least a year haha made tons of sense, and very inspiring thank you again!
Hey man, this was great!! I have been strugglin with modes forever but this made so much sense!! Thanks a lot..comming from a player that ALWAYS uses pentatonics you just made my day! Cheers
This has been one of the most usefull lessons Ive seen in a looong time! thank you for sharing your knowledge! all the best, Btw I subscribed :)
Your vids are among the best I've seen, excellent teacher.
PS the desk kicks ass!
EXCELLENT!!!!!! So many people complicate this- NOW it really makes sense!! Thank you!!
Wallimann, you are the absolute best guitar teacher on UA-cam. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
And then we combine these pentatonic modes with the relative locrian arpeggios that you tought us in other video. Sir, you're GREAT!!!!!!
Best regards Mr.Wallimann, great respect for what you do.. This is by far the best lesson I found when it comes to using Pentatonics
great video. it helps to be able to see all that i've read be put to practical use. thank you very much.
Very clearly explained! You're going to help a lot of people with this. I first discovered these modal pentatonics by drawing a diagram of the major scale all over the fretboard and then just staring at it for hours to see what superimposed. Wish I'd had UA-cam back then! :)
Ideal minor modal sound changes, same pattern, although in same mode(Dorian).
You made theory practical/interesting/functional...Great teacher...
Extremely helpful tips! Thanks much, keep em coming.
I've been playing a long time now...and I just learned something I had never considered! Thanks for posting!
Thanks for the rest post mate! You're videos are inspiring:)
endless possibilities in music, ..thanks man, this is so helpful! more power man! :D
Terrific lesson, and very useful. Thanks for posting this!
That melted my head! Totaly subscribed!
Opening up my eyes to lots of possibilities and really starting to understand modes and their relation to pentatonics......thanks to you David!!!
I was actually just realizing I can play B Phrygian shape and E aeolean to kinda "shred" a little and move around the fretboard and still be in A Dorian......now I can use minor pentatonic box 1 in A, B and E as well!!!
Thanks!!! You are a great teacher,my play has improving a lot because I watch your videos,Cheers
Your videos are very good David. Thanks.
You have very useful demonstrations, thanks Wallimann!
Another great lesson demonstrated and explained very well.
Your lessons are great Wallimann! I just got the buzznut, what a great little gadget! I may enter the contest but i have to redo the original i would use, i am thinking of using the buzznut in the vid. Thanks for the contest and sharing the info!
absolutely great lesson man! just kinda fugured it out on my own today, with the E pentatonic over an A, but didn't know what the theory behind it was. then i saw this video and it made it all verry clear! thanks a lot!!!!!!!!
Hi David, best lesson I've seen in awhile!!!! God bless....
@Wallimann My guitar teacher was a jazz musician that taught me this technique back in the 80s. I am glad that you made a video to make people aware of it! Yes, it is a truly effect method. It also sounds like your are playing something far more complicated than it is. I also use it to form arpeggios within the melody; kind of like SRV was good for.
This is a very complex issue that has been explained and used in very simple terms - nice stuff!
fantastic video. not just the content; you have a great method of explanation.
good vid dude it really helped me to see the scales in a different way thank you
Thanx for your help man! Priceless!
Great lesson. Thanks for sharing man!
Nicely presented. been meaning to figure out how pentatonics related to modes and you did it for me :)
Thank you so much. I've been playing guitar for decades and never knew about this; I can't wait to show my bandmates!
Great lesson man... Good information well put across, Many thanks!
Very very useful and well explained. Thanks!
Really nice lesson man. Thanks !!
Man, i love yor guitar phrasing and tone!
Wow, very well explained, great lesson. I really appreciate it, thank you.
It's great to have those lessons David. Obvious things aren't as obvious as we would want. I know that knowing shapes of "major scale" Ican play all the modes just by moving them to certain positions, but what You covered here is new to me.
Great lesson thanks Wallimann,I think this can help me advance my playing, cheers.
Very awesome idea, and lesson. Thanks for posting.
I appreciate you sharing your skills with us!
Wow! You're a great teacher and a great musician too. Thanks for the knowledge. :)
Thanks this really helps clear it up. please make more.
i kind of stumble upon this concept over the years because Im a play by ear kind of guy who started in blues but then found Jambands and Jazz...so this really clears it up for me ...you know like why and how it works...Im never thinking of scales but thinking where do i want to go melodically with intervals so thanks
Hi Mr.David, your right hand expression is amazing and outstanding.Seems that your guitar is suffering from heavy cold and throat ache!! It gives an unusual tone and flavour for the way you play all the modes with your brilliant musical ideas....brilliant
Great Lesson. Many thanks.
Probably the most spot on explanation I have ever come across ....
Yes! I needed to see that. Thank you very much!
After 1st video, I just instinctively subscribed.
Even though I know my theory well, you give me new inspiration to challenge myself even further.
Thank you very much for that :)
@Wallimann ,thanks, the concept of connecting melodically is the key!!!
Brilliant lesson on the go..thank you appriciated.
great teacher,simply clear and useful...
Incredible lesson. Thanks for sharing
Good lesson sir! Thank you.
Thanks and keep posting, great teacher!
Very easy to digest..very nice lesson
great!! tnx for this lesson, it's very helpful and informative
Absolutely great lesson-being an advanced player, Seeing this was fresh and new-Its the approach you are using- how you look at the modes. And with this-you-can add for example a note or notes of say the natural minor , Em in this case to color the solo-as with the Phrygian as well, B in this case-Nice!
I had figured out that all the minor modes contain the pentatonic shape, but I wasn't sure if I could actually apply that concept till I saw this vid. Thanks a lot!
Great Lesson...finally, someone explained how the pentatonic scales can work over those modes, easy and just great! Now please explain how to use the modes over the I IV V progression..Thanks
Thanx and above all things ..... continue with your lessons, please!
Cool playing, thanks for the info.
With all the notes in those 3 pentatonic scale you now have the Em scale. Great vid, it gets different ideas and inspiration going.
Great & useful lesson!
excellent lesson David, merci
