As a non-guitarist, ever since I first heard the High Hopes solo, I hoped for a convincing synth replica. It seems, Ample Sound has managed it once again. Thanks for the in-depth review!
I think I sped to my studio to download this as soon as Ample Sound sent the download. Great review, by the way. It’s nice to hear an actual guitarist’s take on it.
Hi Mike. I think the correct one for Capo is 'Ca-Po', because it's from the Italian that means 'Head', or from the beginning, from the top. I'm not Italian, but I speak a little bit and also French and Spanish. They all have the same pronunciation for vowels. I loved this slide guitar. I'm making one for me right now. I'm also a luthier. Regards from Rio (where we speak portuguese) lol
Yep, it comes from Italian. But it's actually a short form of capotasto, which means "main fretbar". I'm German, and we say it like in the English word "cup" with an o added at the end.
Wish I would have jumped 5 months ago however the regular price for all you can create with this instrument is infinite and I certainly will use it in my future compositions. Thanks Mike.
Wow, Impressive attempt at reproducing this instrument for the digital platform and as always a great review. Did I miss it or have Ample Sound missed a couple of vital attributes for this instrument? The 'hammer on' which is a must have and also the slide from an open string (you slide from the nut). Hopefully these can be addressed in the first upgrade.
HI MIKE, GREAT VID AS ALWAYS!!! I am admiring your Gretschz on the wall behind you with the Bigsby. What Model is it & di you have ANY complaints? At all?? Would you buy it again? I am looking for a hollow body & Gretschs look so pretty. Wondering if it would be a good second guitar OR do you know of something as good but less $$?????
Heya, nice to see you here as always :) My Gretsch is a limited edition G5420TG. I absolutely adore it. Plays wonderfully, and still stays in tune when I abuse that Bigsby. I needed a careful setup after I bought (as most guitars do). I'm thinking of upgrading the tuners to some locking ones, but the stock are not bad, and maybe having the shielding improved, as I feel it can be a little noisy. Nothing that would stop me buying another one without a thought! And in Gretsch money, it's really not that expensive :) But this was limited edition, so you'd need to getva used one I think. You can see a clip of me playing it here... ua-cam.com/video/tq7dJxWvUZA/v-deo.html
Can you give tutorial on how to install this plugin into cakewalk? i have it and can access via midi on my desk top, but i cant get it to come up in cakewalk
Could you play it using MidiGuitar, getting a midi track, and then add the articulations in the editor? Which, actually raises an interesting complication. If you were playing guitar, you'd have to avoid doing any articulation because that would confuse the software later. I really ought to learn to play piano.
Don't worry about a copyright on "Amazing Grace". From Wikipedia: "Amazing Grace" is a Christian hymn published in 1779, with words written in 1772 by the English poet and Anglican clergyman John Newton (1725-1807).
While Ample instruments are great, I find this to be a little more convoluted than perhaps it needs to be. Rather, I have chosen to select the INDIGINUS Lap Steel guitar. It's equally as intuitive and the sound is every bit as good. Plus it's less in cost. BOTH are good, for example Ample's has a lot of features that you can muck about with but Indiginus seems much easier to navigate to me, than this would be. And while I love Ample instruments, I also think Indiginus is worth the look and at a bit less price point. Compare them as decide for yourself. But they are both very good.
@@kangkane5121 Ah,ha, I THOUGHT I stood corrected but according to Indiginus's site it IS labeled as a STEEL Electric Lap Steel Guitar. So in fact they are the same thing as Ample Sounds instrument. So check out Indiginus's site and you'll see what it's called. As a matter of fact the streaming interview that Simeon Amburgey of Praise Tracks did here on You Tube with Tracy Collins who developed the Lap Steel instrument - Tracy himself said it was a lap steel guitar and in fact even says that and I quote "if you're looking for that sound, there isn't a lot of difference between a lap steel and a pedal steel guitar"!! And in fact, that is accurate - they do sound VERY similar. Check out that video ua-cam.com/video/Ukol-VwZAbA/v-deo.html at about the 27 minute mark and hear his explanation on the issue.
good sound .. but interface and play mod is horrible !!!! is impossible to play !!!! you play solo and enter arp in solo grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!((((((( ok!? )))!!!

As always, thank you so much.
We are big fans of Pink Floyd, and David Gilmour is my god :)
I was stuck for an interlude in my recent project.. Thanks for sharing this. Got an idea.. This has beautiful sound
Glad I could help!

The best review of this lapsteel
Thank you for the heads up.
I'm waiting for the download to finish!
Ample Sound. Good.
:)
Thanks for this video. Went ahead and bought it on sale. Using it with my Linnstrument and it works great. Thanks again.
bought this one. it sounds convincing.
Have fun!
This definitely fills a gap that needs to be filled. I have been thinking about buying a lap steel guitar, but maybe this would be the way forward.
Certainly takes less space :p

Intant country vibe , I don't have anything like this in my Plugin libraries thanks for the heads up Mike 😎

Sounds great.

Awesome for Country!))))))))
Thanks for this evaluation. I can see using this. I love and appreciate all of your videos.

Thanks for a super-clear (and enjoyable!) explanation of this plugin. Much appreciated!
So weird. I was just now trying to program a lapsteel part on strum 2 and a notification for your video popped up!
We are listening!
Hi Mike, have you checked the Impact Soundwork Lapsteel VST? Similar price with current discounts, so I hesitate between both.
I have a real lap steel, darent try and play it. Loving this VST..
Great review! Did you do one for Ample Guitar M II Lite?
I think I did in some of my early videos yes.
Found it. 2018. Thanks
Awesome sound!!

There is not hammer on samples but there is pull off samples on open strings

Indiginus make a great lap steel - The Steel. It’s cheaper ($59) and the GUI is also very intuitive.
Hi, Just a question, can you tell me if need a midi keyboard with after touch syatem for play with this VST
I like your T-shirt
Awesome
thank you sir

not to worry, Amazing Grace is public domain
:)
I believe the word capo is pronounced, Cay-Poh. Here in the 🇺🇸.

That is a Pedal Steel but this is a Lap Steel, different instruments and styles.

Hey ^^
Hey MC!
I've always heard "capo" pronounced with a short "a".
sounds are great, but installation is pure exotical nuisance (fortunately - at least - "service center" is about correct...)
I say capo.
Lol
