At twice the FPS the game runs twice as fast. Find and click the secret hamburger in Star_'s halloween video to see a Nuclear Throne video with higher FPS versions of the game - and a bit more.
Ditocoaf It's in the Dreadout one, At the beginning a burger appears on the office desk around 15 or 20 seconds into the video, to the right of the computer mouse.
The reason it's actually locked at 30FPS is because it was programmed in GameMaker Studio, which has a thing called Room Speed. It sets both the maximum frame rate the game can have, and the speed at which everything goes, so basically every code is executed 30 times a second, as you'd expect. Changing that variable to 60 would obviously allow 60FPS, but it would also require Vlambeer to change *every variable in the game* to the double of its current value (or half, depending), aka it would take a LONG while.
