- I had the privilege of having John Cashman work on my 1964 Lincoln Suicide Convertible. Here is a video of him explaining how to get a stuck trunk lid open. It's a great hack. The labels you see are provided by John during his service. He also goes into the window control as well. Great guy. I highly recommend you google him if you have a Lincoln. He travels the country with parts and all he does is service these old Lincolns.

THANK YOU for the 411 on these fine old soft top Continentals that are works of art and an all too often pain in the ass. FoMoCo should have included this info in the factory owner's manual

I believe my hydraulic pump is weak has problems actuate the top and the trunk lid really slow and sometimes it just won't move anymore

Beau is there a way to close the deck once you open the deck this way? The user might need to close the deck if the problem can't be resloved without ordering parts to fix the opening issue. I wouldn't be able to back into the garage with the deck lid up, or leave out on the driveway with the deck up. Thanks

My top open and close , deck lid close when open top, but deck lid won't close when top is up . How can I fix it?
The motor runs when I jump the unlock relay, but nothing seems to happen. The lid doesn't move at all like yours in the video. How long should it take? If the motor runs and doesn't unlock, what do I do now?
When pulling the swicth, only small ”click” hears from left back corner of the car… 🤔 nothing else happens or hears.
Should I remove the back rest and jump the relay like you showed here..?

Easy instructions. I tried it and it's a no go. Trunk unlocks. Deck lid wont go up. Wonder if it's a relay problem?

I have a 63 Lincoln Continental Convertible and my issues is the trunk wont close. The top is down and "appears' to be locked but the Lid does not fold down and trunk does not move down. Any help in trouble shooting is much appreciated.
Yes, I have run into this problem as well and know how to solve it. I will post a video for you soon. It has to do with the two switches on the top the front window. When the top is being raised and the top meets the front window there are two latches that engage to hold the top to the window. What you can do to get them to engage is sit in the drivers seat and manually push the front of the convertible top towards the front window as they meet. This will help the hooks engage and trigger the relays to close the trunk lid. Hit me up on facebook and we can chat. Beau Ralphs

i my name is luis i have a 1967 Lincoln continental coverble . my problem is that i had this guy work on my 1967 top because it wasn't working. so what he did is he took all the relays off and the pump that is under the relays now he can't remember how anything goes can someone help with a pictures of where all the relays and pump hole goes thanks you
