I was walking home from the library today, where I try to go when it's hot outside because they have air conditioning and it is 103*F outside today. Anyway, I was walking by a business building and there was a woman outside next to all the business people and even though she was dressed up, she was dancing. She was really moving. She was shaking her shoulders and doing dramatic arm dips. I walked by and thought it was cool but didn't stop. But then I realized that the song was really beautiful. Totally unexpectedly loud and belting around the street, so I turned around and asked her what it was. She pulled out her phone and said it was this song.
I discover this incredible artist in the 70s. His hoarse voice is so gripping, so moving that I have each time tears in my eyes. I don't speak Russian but it's like I understand each an every word he sings. May this tortured soul be now at peace 🇫🇷🙏🇫🇷

Good choice 😊. In my opinion, music is one of the greatest ways not to just simply get to know about a language, but generally feel the whole inner beauty of it. I learnt Russian thanks to Vysotsky, English thanks to Eminem, Belarusian thanks to Wajciuszkiewicz and now, I'm seriously looking for a good German artist to help me discover the magic of that brand-new to me language.
It's not enough to learn Russian to understand V. Vysotsky. You would need to learn what Russian Orthodox church and another popular religion - Marxism have done to great many generations of Russians. That harm goes on even now.
