😃 The issue is being exaggerated as if it's a national crisis. After watching this, Kappaphycus appears for me a bigger threat to the ocean than the large industries establishing on coastal areas, which will release gallons of wastewater into the ocean. Most people don't truly understand how nature and ecology work. I'm damn sure 99% of people don't even know that Conocarpus is a mangrove species. On the one hand, the government promotes mangroves, while on the other, people criticize them. However, with proper management, this species can actually benefit the environment.
just like palm farming as main crop in indian cooking oil strategy instead of giving MSP for oilseed like groundnut, mustard, safflower, sunflower, olive, sesame, flaxseed which can grown across india and more sustainble than palm.
I am surprised that with such a long coastline, India has not developed a seaweed food culture.
