According to ratings, the LG G4 (with MLA) can do 1,459 cd/m² in a 10% window in HDR mode. So the G5 will be able to do approximately 2,042 cd/m in a 10% window in HDR mode. Sorry I will wait to see the results from ratings. LG's claim is more than likely in vivid mode, which is important, well never.
Have my current LG CX for the last 5 years so might upgrade to the G5 or M5 when they release. Hopefully will be a nice upgrade especially as I’ve started to notice some burn in on my CX creep in.
Hey David, I've been watching videos and reviews of yours since I was a young teen. I'm about 30 now. Lol. Hope you've enjoyed the career you've had with doing this stuff. I think you're possibly one of the most OG TV reviewers on the web.
It’s not exactly about peak brightness but average picture brightness - and that should increase 40% as well (100% white will increase that much) - and that’s big
Why is it that we by now have hundreds of videos from their new TVs, but nothing about the Ultragear Monitor stuff? Or have they only released the TVs for now?
Why is brightness always associated with best picture quality? I even turn down the brightness on my C3. I get that HDR requires a lot of nits, but i always use the dark room option. Dont look extreme bright displays.
@ at what 80 degrees? It’s totally irrelevant change in practical terms. The colour shift was the pink shift they had in previous gens - but I don’t think we will see that anymore
@ Last year’s C4 started shifting colors at 29 degrees & color washout started around 48. The shift was particularly noticeable because it toward green last year not pink, which hadn’t been seen since 2018ish.
@ if I remember correctly it was pink tint - not same color washout like we experience on led tvs - whilst technically correct - but pink tint wouldn’t say was always apparent
true, after updates its great. also gamemode is fixed. not dim anymore. but if the lg g5 is so much better. i go for the lg g5 77 inch. and i exchange my lg g3 for it. think i must paid 2500 euro for it
they are not. Smart buy. I did not understand all the hype on the G4. LG must have been funding the YTers somehow. On paper, looking at the numbers, the G3 and G4 are near identical, also they're always panel variances in panels. To ay more for the G4, I mean unless it was under $100 more, id go with the G3 and be incredibly happy. Id argue only a couple people on earth would be able to walk into your home and be able to tell that your TV is a G3 rather than a G4. When did you pick up your G3 and how do you like it thus far? have 3 LG C's and a LG B7 still runs and looks great.
Hold LG to account with their ongoing uniformity issues on their OLED's and then we'll listen about brightness and wireless boxes etc. All I want LG to do is make a TV which doesn't have vertical lines all over it when watching football or have pink/green tint.
@@AndrewB23what do you mean why ? So they can put the panel in a room with a lot of light or even indoor lighting. Brightness helps, but this would be great for low brightness
That depends on ambient lighting conditions, the brighter a tv can get the more scenarios it can present an ideal hdr image. Beyond that there's all kinds of uses for expanded peak brightness and full screen brightness, this is hardly the last stop on the train.
@@Healthy_Toki If the TV's brightness affects the dialation of the eye, a high brightness TV in the dark will keep the eye from being able to appreciate the darker sections of the image. Likewise, when there is room light, your pupils get smaller, and doesn't need as strong of black levels (like OLED), to think it is seeing pure black? I was thinking there is like a dynamic range of realistic human vision (from light to dark), similar to how the ear has trouble going past 80 dB of dynamic range in terms of what it can appreciate
okay so we have great hardware in 2025.. but do we have film that takes advantage of every space of the matter for everyone to just stream on something like this?
Try rewatching the last 5 years of these video's, where this same guy reviews the G1, G2, C3, G4, and now the G5. Every year he says the same thing, "Best picture ive ever seen". Im still unsure what the exact difference's are between the G3 & G4, the numbers do not lie and they are almost identical. I like when reviewers say dont look at the numbers when they are talking about the numbers. I have a prediction, in one year this same reviewer will review the G6 and say "this is the best display I have ever seen". Am going to go out an a limb here and say you should expect the same nonsense indefinitely. Its videos like this that remind me that at its fundamental core, UA-cam is just a large advertisement ..
Doesn't really make his statement false. I would assume they improve the picture every year, and also in terms of showcasing the differences side by side. Now do the improvements mean anything to the average person, probably not. I'm sure people would find it hard to see a difference between the G3 and up it it's not pointed out to them. In short, a good time to find G3 or G4 on sale
Where are the lg rollable TVs , they need to make them affordable Why do lg have amazing concepts but they don't take of Lg are Xerox parc Invent the thing then someone takes it
The g4 stands didn't work, the G series is designed to be on a wall. They should make the c5 better to be like the g5, but without the slim design. They already have the B5 to be the cheaper version. And they should make a 72 inch version for the C5, cuz 65 to 77 is a lot.
My G4 is sitting on a stand. Holding up great ! Your comment is irrelevant. I seriously doubt you even own one otherwise you’d stop with the stupidity 😂
It was all fine until the end. Saying C4 was the 'bang for buck' TV for him last year is a joke. C4 was basically a C2 without any inprovements worth mentioning. C4 really missed out on MLA and if its not MLA nor a 4 layer stack as roumored about G5 the C-series is a no go this year as well. QD-oleds are pulling ahead 😐

LG G5??? What will be the latest concept of this???
I am at CES I can confirm this tv is awesome vert bright indeef
Disappointing that they are going to not include the stand mounts in the lower sized tvs! Once again! Come on LG! Not everyone wants a wall mount!
Yeah the stand for the 77 inch G4 is £250 in the UK totally outrageous.
LG built quality and design are suck which applies to all products.
Kinda of like not putting the charger in the box for cell phones.
LG and Samsung are going the way of Apple, less for more. Which is why Panasonic and Sony are the best in the business

Surprise theres no C5 110 inch yet
Forgot to mention the biggest difference between G4 and G5: G5 is brighter without MLA.
And the G6 will have the bright panel of G5 with MLA lol
G4 is plenty bright enough
Not in color. The white subpixel dilutes color saturation at high brightness, which this G5 seems to mitigate though not as well as QD-OLED does.
@@jakeola10every year will get better. The G4 color is very good for an oled. The only real revolution will be PHOLED

Did the G5 viewing angles take a hit without MLA?
Every OLED have perfect 90/90
