Trainspotting returns to the big screen from 24th May via @ParkCircusFilms in a brand new 4K restoration supervised by director Danny Boyle.
Renton (Ewan McGregor) is a heroin addict, and he and his friends are deeply immersed in Edinburgh's drug scene. When he decides to get clean, he has to battle against the allure of drugs and the influence of his friends in Danny Boyle's BAFTA-winning Irvine Welsh adaptation.
Directed by Danny Boyle (Shallow Grave), written by John Hodge (Trance), and also starring Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, Kevin McKidd, Robert Carlyle, Kelly McDonald and Peter Mullan.

For those of us that can't attend a big screen showing, I hope that there are plans for a 4k blu-ray / standard blu-ray with a completely unedited / uncensored version of Trainspotting for those of us in the UK. Choose Home Entertainment.
There is already a 4K blu ray by the Criteron and it’s stunning.
@@lukesbeans Not in the UK though
The 4k criterion is region free...
I really hope we get a digital release too!
Whats up Chippy
I can’t wait to see it on the big screen again
How am I just seeing this the day it comes out !!!?!?
Not even in the US 🥺
are they re-airing it on Film4?, i remember them airing it a long time ago as a double bill with stand by me
The coloring is strange, but i'm looking for the remaster.
The colouring is definitely off you're right. I think most of us know the film to be much "pinker" looking than what this shows us. However, I'm pretty sure that this was the original theatrical look of the film that's being remastered whereas the way most of us have known the film to look before was a result of a botched dvd transfer from the original negatives. Still I prefer the pinker look as I think it adds more to the film but I suppose it's good to see a restored version of what it originally was.
@@Owen-ub3fvno, my eyes are perfect. I'm just more used to the film having a pinkish look not this green un-saturated look. And try to reply to comments a little bit nicer

I think it looks stunning but the Criteron version is much better.
It does look incredible and like they shot it at the same time and on the same characters as T2. However I prefer how it originally looks in all it's grainy non high def and nostalgic glory. It's should still look like a piece of it's time and not updated to the modern high def look of T2. That's one of the things that's so interesting about T2 in comparison to Trainspotting. The low def to high def contrast helps convey the passage of time.
Got my ticket booked. Are we going to get a 4K blu ray over here? Or am I going to have to pay through the colon to import the Criterion disc from the US?
The criterion was only around £2 more than it would cost if we got the criterion 4K over here, I picked it up for £32 off Amazon, still haven’t popped it in yet
@@Dan89201 That’s a very decent price tbf.
Before he became star wars Jesus 😅😅
They’ve changed the colour too much. Looks like it’s been directed by Zack Snyder 😅
Great film though
its all blue, every time they make old movies blue
This is how it’s supposed to look, the transfer was supervised by Danny Boyle
I kinda like it, it's kinda strange tho
@@Dan89201 Danny Boyle hasn't had good taste for a while now
@@Guadeloop can’t say I agree there, yesterday was ass but t2 and Steve jobs were both good
Money for old rope eh?
Have people lost their eyes? I don't know about you guys but these restorations should concentrate on matching the original master as possible. My Criterion laserdisc looks better than this.. Also my 35mm print looks nothing like this. Not sure about you guys but put instagram filters on my favorite classics is criminal.. When you keep going back in on the art you start to kill its magic. This is a big problem and i am shocked people don't call this out more.
Aliens is 100x worse this nonsesne is beyond pathetic 4k is a resolution why they have to completely ruin something for 4k is beyond me these 4k releases are geting more fake and more ugly and more sterile it's the visual version of everything being woke I don't want it to look digital and fake and plastic and shiny I want the movie in 4k resolution that's it leave tne rest alone
not the best trailer. I am very sorry for this comment.
I think they've kept the original trailer, but now in 4K. Shows how far trailers have come.
yea this is how trailers were cut in the 90s, not so much smooth sailing is it?
u are right it is the same cut@@pineapplejam.
