- My grandma always wanted the movie Marley and Me so for christmas we bought her the movie and the puppy to go with it. She had no idea!!

Agreed. Why do so many people assume that simply getting a puppy at Christmas or on your birthday will make you abandon it as soon as it gets older? Only irresponsible owners do that, and they would do it no matter when they got the dog.
Agreed. It probably wasn't even in the box until she opened the DVD plus, my dog has a crate smaller than that box, and she loves it. It makes her feel secure!
I got a puppy for my birthday, a Maltese, but they had to take it away because my mom didn't like him. I feel good for her anyway, and I can also feel the great shock of getting a pup!

Dogs are awesome, despite being in a dark space for some time, the puppy didn't get scared and wasn't aggressive at all...and yes, very beautiful dog!

i love the movie marley and me also,so my husband got me a puppy shes a lab and newfoundland cross,shes only 6mos old right now and she already 79lbs,i love marley

I know right? And that was a pretty big box anyway! It's pretty simple to put the puppy in the box and leave the lid off untill it's time to give the 'present'. It's suprising how few people realise this...

To be fair, they'd already had it for a week, and I doubt it was in there more than several minutes.
If they'd done this with a cat, I'd tell you not to worry, because everyone knows a cat's favorite toy is boxes. But yes, putting a puppy in a box is a little more iffy.
I got my puppy for christmas when I was 5, this video reminds me of it.
People need to stop calling this animal cruelty, cause it is not.
The box has holes and the dog is in the box for a maximun of 30 secs.

This is one of my favorite "Surprise puppy" videos :) I can't wait to get my puppy. I wanted to get a lab first but my mom wanted a smaller dog to start so we are getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Once i move out i am getting Lab.

For my 8th b-day I got a dog and its a yellow lab exactly like marley it'd freaky how alike they are. My dog is 5 years old still needs to be in a kennel when we leave the house And gets into everything. He is also 130 pounds
You think they would have KEPT it in the box? They would have, as we did for my cousins present, put the puppy in the box just as we were about to give it to him.

well what we did was keep the box and puppy in another room UNCOVERED. and just when it was time to bring her the present we placed the lid on loosely so the dog didnt suffocate. i would suggets using this method so the dog can breathe. cause it would only be in the box for about a minuute.
i dont want to jinks it but the puppy is sooooooo ADORABLE!!!!!!!
