If these numbers are accurate then aew is definitely not going to last long.
if you really saw the annual report, wrestling show did generate more money. WWE is underpaying a lot by using the term contractor
It's true report
Tony Khan time just a number. His company going to shutdown soon
I agree that's what killed WCW . I think they need to keep pushing the young guys . Kip Sabin and Penelope Ford needs a bigger push
That’s not what killed wcw all the big stars were signed to turner deals not wcw what killed wcw was Ted losing his company and all the people trying to kill the company for years successfully getting it killed of tv Eric was gonna buy wcw with a backer aol just sold to Vince got Pennie’s on the dollar
Tony’s Dad has a hell of a lot more money than Vince, Tony can afford to pay his wrestlers this much
Cody the only one WWE pay more. But also WWE built most these wrestlers up so it makes sense for them to have a higher salary at AEW because they have recognition. And plus this is codys second spell at WWE
AEW offers him good money, so he leaves WWE
@@wrestledata yeah and then came back for 5 million
@@wrestledata nope. he left wwe years after aew was even invented

If you wonder what happened with WCW, this is exactly what.
here was a lot more to the downfall as well. Not just overpaying for wwf talent.
Yeah I remember when WCW had weird UA-cam accounts reporting fake salaries about the talent.
This is why they have contracts if Tony doesn’t seem like they can deliver they end up with a Cody goodbye.
3M dollars for Bret Hart for misusing him 😂
@@JD12Dawg Cody left because he wanted to be great not because of money and the ship starting sinking as soon as he got off the boat 😂😂
AEW following that WCW business plan.
He was an evps brother and a coach as well as being in on screen character. So makes sense
The only difference is WWE ain't buyin no AEW
Nope Tony is richer than Vince
@@meatshake4103 correction Tony’s dad is richer than Vince. Also Ted Turner was richer than Vince and we see how that turned out.
Well some business man are just idiots but I feel like aew has gotten very far and it has lots of potential.
Mother of the overpaid... Damn, AEW better sign a 500M TV deal or they are out by 2025.
Someone can’t do math lol
You are st*pid
Wwe underpays talent
@@midnightexp1752 could absolutely be the case. But businesses are about making money, and you’re not going to be making money paying people like PAC $2m a year, only for him to be on the lower mid card or barely used.
If these numbers are accurate (personally I doubt they are, especially when you have things like merchandise deals for both companies) and are par for the course.
Also the idea that Khan has more money than Vince, therefore he can afford to pay these people more doesn’t work that way. Rich people don’t stay rich by over spending on every performer. 5 years down the line AEW is still not turning a profit, things will change.
This story has already been told twice. Bring old WWE talent over to their company by offering them more money while saying their frustrations will be heard in AEW. The costs of running the company balloon, and eventually it can non longer continue.
Wrestlers deserve their money, so happy for the people getting more. I’m strictly speaking on financials. But like I said, I just doubt this is accurate anyways. There’s too many things like merchandise, PPV buy rate points, etc to give an accurate figure on who is getting paid what in both companies.
Let's not forget this isn't Jeff Jarret and Dixie Carter with tna...
Tony Kahn is literally worth well over 6billion .. more than enough to sustain talent and make sure the shop continue to run

@@tazuki_xxsomi4503 it's not real . Nobody makes under 250k in WWE . Maybe the NXT guys
Ruby didn't make 80K when with WWE, the base value for WWE is 250K for the main roster. Considering that as independent contractors wrestlers have to pay for their own travel, food, hotel, gym, etc...If she was making 80K a year, she'd barely have any more after her expenses where paid, and that's before taxes and personal expenses like clothing, house bills (maybe even rent). That pay would make even less sense considering that according to Jon Moxley and Y2J, extras get paid 500 bucks, and a wrestler could get that much just by showing up, knowing that and considering that she was doing both TV and house shows, it would make no sense to have her wage be lower than what she gets for her appearances (remember not the same pay, wrestlers get a base wage, and their appearance fees and merch/gate cut is paid separately)
It could easily be her nxt salary as it's a lot lower, especially during the black and gold days

Yoo these numbers can't be real
for more accurate comparison, also point out how many matches they did in WWE vs AEW. If Sting only had 1 match for $300k, then in AEW 20 matches for $1m is cheap.
Most of these basically just reflect where on the card each promotion was lining them up (including the inversion with Cody, in WWE he is THE babyface, or was intended to be, in AEW he was an upper midcard sort of vet guy (and probably had a separate salary as an executive as well).
When you get guys who stayed at roughly the same positioning (ie Big Show and Danielson) theres not much overall change.
Punk and Jericho are the obvious big leaps. But we're comparing a salary a decade ago for an upper midcard to a guy AEW was positioning as the company face. And Jericho's latter days in WWE weren't even full time.
Fact is WWE made them worth that much. A Father may not look strong enough as his son but end of the day son kneel to father.

If you really believe that wrestlers going to AEW is getting paid much more than WWE, first of all, the video never cited any sources so who knows if those values are the accurate. Second, you really believe that they are getting paid more for doing less dates? WWE wrestlers are on the road literally at least 3 days a week, they perform for TV, house shows, PPV etc, while AEW wrestlers are on the road like 3 days at most, and that's including Rampage if it's live, and PPV. And it's not like Rampage is live every week, and they only have 4 PPVs a year. If we count out Rampage and PPVs, they are on the road only one day. Plus, most wrestlers going there are mainly for the relaxed schedule, money rarely comes first to them. This video not having sources is misleading enough for any sane person to know that it is not accurate.
The fact that Ruby Soho and Pac is getting that much more to do nothing with them is ridiculous and a company throwing away money
I mean the numbers are straight up bs. I’ve looked up the sources used and they know as much about their wages as my left ass cheek. Hell all we know for sure is main roster wwe workers are guaranteed a minimum 250k, soooo how the fuck was Ruby only on 80?
Well tony doesn't know how to spend money since he grabs money from his daddy anytime he wants, however Vince uses common sense and he knows how to spend his money better than anyone...
So Vince bought WWE from his dad with his own money
Tony khan is BORROWING money from his daddy to keep his wrestlers.
Astonishing how much some are making in AEW, either because they are grossly underused on TV for how much they are paid (PAC and Miro), or they are just not that good (Rubi, sort of PAC).
Dustin getting 2 million is a massive overpay.
With all do respect, I don't believe these numbers. I will like to know who is the source of this info or where did they got it from. As far as I know this is confidential info. I'm a huge AEW fan and really hate WWE. But I believe that WWE pays more. Most of the wrestlers chose AEW over WWE because they were either fired or because they prefer happiness over money. They have way more freedom and personal time being in AEW. Freedom to have another career job in what they studied, more family time, more free time, a lot of them work and are champions in other promotions, a lot of freedom in creativity of their characters and storyline, and the list goes on and on.
Someone get Jim Cornette to see this… this is an atrocity 😂
I mean these numbers are bs and Jim is someone who would know the wwe numbers are bs based on the fact he was working there when some of these guys signed there first contracts so wouldn’t be tricked into thinking they somehow make less despite being proven stars. The only solid number we have for any of these is all wwe maineventers make 250k so how can we take Ruby being on 80 or any of this blokes stats seriously when the only fact we have counters some of them
That people still find Cornette relevant is the REAL atrocity... 🙄

Out of all Mox has the most paying salary in AEW
And this is why AEW proves Bishoff right, they are paying out more than they are making
I thought that people needed to take a pay cut when they left WWE for AEW.
Why would that be the case? Khan has unlimited funds... and has to overpay to get talent. WWE has a longstanding system of paying talent. AEW is making it up on the fly.

I seriously doubt Dustin Rhodes is making 2M per year. Apart from that it seems accurate, AEW as a upstarting company needed to overpay some of the bigger draws to convince them to jump ship

Wrestlers are not paid a flat salary. There is a base pay, plus per match, plus merchandise royalties. The actual amount of money a wrestler earns per year can be highly variable. Paying wrestlers to sit at home is a fairly common practice now, so that the company can sell their merchandise and prevent them from working for other companies. This video doesn't say which year the data is from, or it's base pay or actual earnings. And even base pay to base pay might not be a fair apples to apples comparison, as the per match pay or number of matches worked can very wildly. Likewise, a single high intensity spotfest match is more work than a squish match, so per-match payments aren't comparable.
Aew have some salaries of ladies help my brother
TNA made the same mistake that WCW did and from what I see, AEW is making the same mistake. A shame, they should push new talent, I'm not saying it's bad to have established stars and I'm happy for Jeff and Dean, Jericho already has many achievements, he doesn't need more. But they should save a lot of space and see if they can push with the youngsters, handle them well, perfect them, invest in protection and try to lower the Hardcore style a little. My humble opinion.
Got the reason why Cody rejoined WWE😂
