She lost in the finals of both, so she didn't.... She deserved to win both the French and the Australian open at least once in her carreer, but she played in tough years. If Venus were 20 now, playing at the level she was playing at 20, she would win every grand slam easily. And I would say the same thing for all the top players of that era. Wozniacki was very smart to come back. She almost beat Coco, the champion, on her first GS tournament since coming back. She has a good chance of winning another slam in 2024, she doesn't have to beat Serena, Clijsters, Henin and all those players who didn't let her win more GS titles when she was no.1
nope. She just showed why Serena has 23 and she has 7. She lost against Serena ..no harm here. but the other opportunities..? she messed up. Did not deserve it
She would have won them if she deserved them. She was never going to beat Serena here but she should have won the rest. She showed us why she has 7 slams to Serena's 23.
I agree. I also wish she’d reached number one again given she was the prize money winner that year. I still think she had an impressive 2017 nonetheless.
@@harishwala5882 She lost in all three finals she reached: Australian Open (to Serena), Wimbledon (to Muguruza), and Year-End Championship (to Wozniaki). She also fell in the US Open semi-final to Sloane Stephens.
I still believe Venus held back due to Serena being pregnant she didn’t even take her to 3rd set in that final Venus actually had opportunities in that first set
Yes! I totally agree. I remember saying to myself at the time that I have never seen Venus’ forehand be so solid! I believe she was working with a new coach at the time. He did a good job with her to improve her forehand at that stage of her career.
@@JWNS08 no she was she was still with david Witt he just made small arrangements atm that time plus Venus was at her healthiest and fitness post her auto immune disease hence why she was able to play at this level her energy levels allowed her to she eventually left david wit back in 2019
Yes, I remember at the Wimbledon final against Muguruza, she was up 5-4, 30-0 and she ended up losing that game. I can tell she was so disappointed losing that game. Muguruza ended up winning 8 games in a row after that to win the match. Losing that 10th game in the first set was huge for her mentally and she didn’t recover.
@@tisanbako She's playing on organisers mercy anyways, and snatching wildcards away from young players who can actually win. She's gonna do this for 10 more years, it's sad people like you don't see the problem here.
2017 was her year! She deserved at least 2 slams

very unfortunate that Venus didn't win a slam in 2017 while accumulating the highest prize money by the end of that year
This was an awesome year for Venus. She should have won Indian Wells, Miami ,Wimbledon, US open and the season ending championships
I agree. I also wish she’d reached number one again given she was the prize money winner that year. I still think she had an impressive 2017 nonetheless.
What is so Unfortunate?!!😮

Venus is the only player who can change the direction of ball at any position and this AO21017 is the best example of her best game... She is the GOAT
That forehand was on fire the entire year

That screaming backhand at 1:15 WoW.
What a season this was for venus, it sucks she couldn't win a slam 😕
I loved how Venus played in 2017! She may not have won any of the finals she reached but she did damn good!
I love watching her play. Thank you AO !
Legend!!!
Venus was still pretty quick in 2017.
World class..the best of us humans
Venus was on a mission, sad she couldn’t lift this tournament, but glad she went that far once again proving haters wrong 😅
Brace on back and all
Ughhh I’m still mad Venus should’ve won atleast two slams in 2017

Queen on her own way.
Also got to the match where had she won it, she would've finished the year as no. 1.
Australian, Wimbledon and YEC runner up…all incredible achievements, wished she one of them though 🥹
It was nice hearing come on’s from her ! She rarely does it
Damn just watching these you can really see how Serena was just a level above everyone else.
Serena im the way... again, but both are winners, it's still all in the family.
As per usual, she let her bratty little sister beat her.
Yep won against her in Montreal and Indian Wells 2R or 3R and loses another grand slam final to her.
Venis is pure class
Unlike her arrogant sister
I guess AO is going to give her a wild card that's why this video is being shown???
Don't know which part of her career is gonna be remembered, when she won slams or when she kept losing 1st rounds.
Atleast something will be remembered. While you’re being forgotten
@@tisanbako Better than being remembered as humiliation.
Probably the way she changed tennis forever. You clown.
