I love how Nakamura's singing keeps evolving every year. It won't be long until he's the same level with Ryotaro Okiayu. ...Now, catching up to singers like Tomokazu Seki, Toshihiko Seki, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Mamoru Miyano, Nobutoshi Canna, Shoutaro Morikubo and Tatsuhisa Suzuki will take years. :P It's especially difficult with the first two since SekiTomo can go opera level and SekiToshi's never sung a note off-tune in his life (even live). And Canna was going to be a singer before getting into voice-acting - it shows.
Now, imagine if the composers behind character songs evolved too. Personally I like it when VOCALOID producers get to be in charge because they have diverse styles and know how to make catchy songs that don't sound corny or flat. The character song album for Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku turned out pretty nicely, to give an example (I didn't dislike one song). It had people like Machigeriita, Karasuyasabou and Kurage-P behind it.
