About your question it's not easy to answer. I have a Modern Guthrie Govan Signature so, woods are almost the same, I've started playing guitar on a strat so 22 frets feels more like "home" to me, I feel that the Thorn's are more versatile to play different styles. Tonewise Thorn's have less output pickups compared to the Govan's (But both works well with Distortion, I play metal with the Thorn lol), Thorn's feel warmer, Govan's sounds more "spanky". So it all depends on what sound I'm looking for. Hope this helps, cheers
