Jagathi Foundation: Basti Dost AY 24-25 Q1 Update

We, the Jagathi Foundation’s "Basti Dost" initiative, is a heartfelt mission dedicated to uplifting underprivileged children from slum areas through after-school remedial classes and holistic education, while ensuring they receive nutritious meals. We believe in nurturing not just academic growth but also life skills, values, and confidence.
In this first quarter of academic Year 24-25, we’ve organized vibrant drawing competitions, eco-friendly rakhi-making sessions, joyous Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, and dance contests that filled the air with laughter and creativity. To further support their journey, Jagathi Foundation also gifted school bags to the children, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed. We extended our love and support beyond the children, teaching their parents basic life skills to help manage household tasks and finances, all in pursuit of our vision of 100% literacy for every family.
Our founder, ‪@durgakalyani6567‬ has poured her heart into this project. She didn’t just teach them academic subjects, but also instilled essential life skills, respect for parents and elders, cultivated good habits, and fostered a deep love for their country. She played, laughed, and learned alongside them, becoming not just a mentor but a true friend-guiding them with care and compassion on the path to becoming responsible and kind-hearted individuals.
Our dedicated volunteers, too, have been instrumental, stepping in whenever they could to share their knowledge and kindness.
Together, we are building a brighter, more hopeful future-one child, one lesson, and one smile at a time.
