i agree-like in the beginning of the show, I thought the show was going to go there, but then they started being more obvious with Mary/Lazlo thing. But I personally find Mary slightly creepy, and the relationship with her and Lazlo to be slightly messed up given their history and the dependency.
I'm so glad I've found other Sara/Laszlo shippers! 💕 Thought I was the only one too but happy I'm not 😊
I find it weird too, but the mistress foretold its existence when she mentioned that one would fall for him not because of his intelligence, but because of something entirely different. They basically wrote Sara off with that. Which is a damn shame, because Sara and Laszlo's chemistry was way more palpable.
I ship Laszlo & Sara, John & Sara and Mary & Laszlo... I'm disturbed
I think that Sara and John love each other but they are one of those "love is not always enough" cases. They love each other but want different things from their life, things that are almost completely incompatible with the other desire.
I do believe that Laszlo has a more kindred sould to Sara's. They are much more compatible and do have strong feeling for each other. Sara had even a crush on season one. Laszlo taught that he was too damaged and pushed her away and she let him. I hope in more scenes for them in an eventual third season. If not then someone needs to write about them.
I'm so glad someone sees the potential in these two cause I thought I was the only one! They are developing a deeper emotional connection due to both challenging each other's perspectives/views. This is influencing them to change in how they think and approach situations/life. Its subtle but its there. I'm sure I'm not imagining it lol. But I don't think either one of them realises it. Not yet anyway. I hope they explore this relationship because I find all their scenes alone together so far are filled with tension, intrigue and curiosity. The camera angles are interesting as well. The focus a lot on how they react to each other and so I figured the show is slowly building them up. But maybe they won't since majority of fandom is leaning towards John/Sara. Regardless, thanks for making this lovely video!
upeksha6 Ultimately, I think John is too conventional in his view of male/female roles for Sara. Laszlo is an iconoclast like her and would be willing to accommodate a less conventional relationship.
I feel the same! There is so much more to Laszlo/Sara than there is John/Sara. There's something about the way they film the two looking at one another, with long pauses etc that just make me hope they're going to develop their relationship in season two rather than with John. Here's hoping!
Agree with what you said @upeksha6. I noticed the camera angles too and the way they shot the scenes between them as if the world only consists of Sara and Laszlo. I am very confident that the writers are leaning towards Sara and Laszlo. It is in those little things. The way they reacted to each other, the stare, the smile, the "wanting to know more about her/him", etc. In the "forgive me" scene in Eps 10, Laszlo called her Sara, not Ms. Howard. And after the celebration dinner in Eps 10, Sara, despite she kissed John back in Eps 9, after reconciling with Dr. Kreizer, she "rejected" John again and admiting that she is in love with her "dreams". Gotto say that those clues are enough to conclude that the writers are builing up the Sara - Laszlo relationship.
Jane at Home Agree totally. I forget which episode and scene it was, but I remember John saying something that set off alarm bells for me in that regard and it immediately made me think a relationship between them could never work out.

I’m so glad I stumbled across this video!! all I keep seeing is John and Sarah shipping videos and I was starting to think I was the only one that shipped Laszlo with Sarah. In season one it was looking like these two were actually going to get together and they had some beautiful moments. I love how there was an equal balance and a shared respect. Sarah was able to open up, truly about her father and vice verser with Laszlo. They would bicker and Sarah was not afraid to speak her mind at times. I loved how Laszlo treated her as an equal and pushed her to her limits because he saw her potential. Even when he slapped her there was tons of chemistry!
My favourite scene between Sarah and Laszlo is after Mary’s death when he opens up to Sarah about what his father really did to him and then Sarah reveals what actually happened to her dad- such a beautiful moment between them that felt like two friends bonding but also two potential lovers. I’m sorry, but I did not see the chemistry with John. I think it was forced. He was always pining over her and making a move. I think by the end of season two Sarah was dealing with Libby and feeling isolated and alone, sleeping with John was more of an urge like she needed to feel something- rather than love. I personally found their love scene awkward and it truly confirmed they were not meant to be. I really hope there will be a season three.
It is important to emphasize that lazlo and sara was not a collective delusion. it's undeniable that they were falling in love in season one, the way they looked at each other, the tension between the two, the way sara was dedicated to knowing everything about him and the way lazlo started drinking whiskey because it was sara's favorite drink. it would be a beautiful love story, but it's the old classic: teenagers, regardless of the plot, for some reason will always prefer the main character to get the hot bad boy for the simple fact that he's the hot bad boy 🙄

exactly. sara and john are fine i guess but they’re also so bland and have zero chemistry, whereas these two had it _from the moment they met_ . honestly i was floored and so sure they were gonna go that route, and i just ended up disappointed.

I honestly thought they would go that direction in the first season but I was wrong. Bit disappointing to be honest. Could have been an interesting couple. Sarah and John are cute but I feel like Sarah is too complicated for him, what season 2 showed. Also the thing with Mary (in my opinion) came out of no where and felt weird; because, as I understand it, Laszlo raised her for at least a part of her childhood and was like a daughter or at least little sister to him. But I guess the other psychologist is a good fit for him.
