I really don't understand why the 'Member's Choice' has any place being included in a review of articulation, accuracy and build quality. The point of the review is to help people make up their mind. 'Member's Choice' is opinions from people who have already made up their mind. It makes no sense to have it included and affect the ratings of a figure (in this case, causing a tie). Include it for interest, maybe, but don't give it any weighting.
Wow, Takara had a heck of a rally there. To me Engineering, Transformation and Build Quality are the most important categories. Hopefully the FT version does it better.
Thanks for the comparison! For info: The gun at 2:50 is huge on the Takara because it was huge with the G1 toy. It was a gun for the sled, not for the figure. Also, again, just for the info, my Takara Ratchet cost me $90 initially at BBTS back in August 2017, although I had to pay a hefty $150 for the Ironhide reissue in 2020.
Ultra Magnus was my last XTB figure I bought and I was hoping Ratchet and Ironhide would be up to that quality level but I’m sadly disappointed 😢. If they could keep that formula they had with Magnus XTB wouldn’t have a problem.
I take the position that while diecast may imply quality it doesn't necessarily impart quality. Some companies overdo the diecast, of course, I'll be getting the FT when it comes out.
Yeah a lot of people falsely assume heavy = quality, which is likely why companies shove so much diecast into figures. There are plenty of heavy figures that are genuinely awful quality.
This comparison was really helpful! I was thinking of getting the XTB version, because I thought it looked decent. But seeing how it compares to the Takara, I think I'll just wait for FansToys. Thanks, Sony!

Really nice VS here, and the score show how Strong TT option was and is. XTB blew it when they decided to go with the segmented faux chest windshield. It would had been a better solution to just do a dual windshield twist at the base. This figure should not be under XTB but KFC.
There's several things that XTB does nicely, but this one (in my opinion of course) is a miss. I prefer the Takara. I am looking forward to FT's though, hope they'll have better articulation than Takara.
Own both i actually like the transformation of the MP one and hate the transformation of the x-transbots but the x-transbots looks way better in both modes and the asscesaries are even better i hate the waist on the x-transbots though not hood at all and some of the transformation is just over engineered and didn't need to be
Xtransbots looks better and matches or exceeds Takara in accessories. However Takara wins in quality and engineering. Xtransbots is so inconsistent. Their longhaul is good but this, not so much. Frustrating

As the ALt mode size looks the same as Takara, should fit inside MP10 and 44 trailer iam guessing
Takara's is painted, apart from the bits like that one you point out. It also was prone to paint chipping issues.
Still think Takara is better, their mold isn't the best but XTB's figure looks like crap...

Mpg Dia clone iron hide is $125. Xtb aren't changing at this point. It's always been they're failing.
