This 1:1 scale drivable Hot Wheel dream rod was formerly on display at the magnificent Petersen Automotive Collection in L.A. and I made an annual SoCal pilgrimage to admire it at close quarters, for a number of years. Well, it's back out in the world and my boyhood dream of a real life Twin Mill in action has come true! It's loud, completely impractical and goes like the bejabbers! What's not to like? Absolutely nuthin', that's what! ❤
I want a driver mod!
This car performs exactly as I expected. Luckily, I have driven this multiple times in Forza Horizon with my steering wheel setup, and it's completely bonkers.
Is it on Forza Horizon 5?
@@uncletacosupreme7023 yes
I have to ask....what is Forza?
@@SquirminHermanthe1eyedGerman It's Microsoft's racing game franchise.
@@yongling9825 ahh, ok! Thought it was some new car or something! Guess I am too old & too old skool to know the games! I prefer tinkering with my real 1960s & 1970s classics sitting in my garage
Now there is only one question that is in every car enthusiast's mind "how fast can it go?"
Not fast enough to out run your inner demons.
Great to see the Twin Mill developed and running.
Aah finally a real Hot Wheels car.I hope to see more of these wild designs being built.
this car is about 20 years old.....😂😂😂😂 and there are lots of other real hot wheels cars
Hot wheels has made many replicas, most notable is the copo camaro
Finally 22 years ago!
I remember when this got built, but as a kid I never would have imagine a real version would exist. The blue looks awesome. However I would have designed the driver seat in the center like a mclaren f1 for better visibility making it much easier to see where you're going.
I think the drive shaft, and possibly gearbox, runs through the middle. F1 was mid engined, so they didn’t need to worry about it.
@@HALLish-jl5mo A Good engineer might be able to work out a solution for that, or build a mid engine version of the twin mill. 🤔
@@smavtmb2196 Technically Twin Mill is front mid engined (between wheels, in front of driver, the latter presenting the problem).
But how could you possibly change this? You can see the engines, and the driver. You can't put the driver in front without making it not a twin mill.
You could make it front wheel drive, but nobody wants that
@@HALLish-jl5mo That's why I suggested a new mid engine version. The life size twin mill looks amazing, but is basically only art work. It's barely drivable.
@@HALLish-jl5mo I think you would have to have the driveshafts extend back behind the driver and connect via chain(s) to a transaxle, though packaging is very tight with so little space between the seat and axle line. I imagine the drive would be torque tubes to a beefy carrier housing that would rigidly connect the drive outputs to the transaxle as you definitely don't want movement between everything. Would probably have to be a single seater, too, with the drive running down the sides. Of course, it's really only drivable in the loosest sense of the word, either way, so it's not like practicality matters. Rear mid engine makes a lot more sense (as much as two side-by-side engines can), but then it's a totally different car. Either way, it's a fun thought exercise.
That's a VERRRRRY sketchy test drive at 7:00...
Driving in first gear?
I can make it better
Incorporate hybrid engineering for sorta daily use
but I'll build my own just gotta figure it out still😒
@@Murkylifewhat is bro blabbering about
The Twin Mill... the best EVER Hot Wheels!!! .. we loved this car as kids 50 years ago!!
I love this monster!!!! The fact that it actually drivable and street legal makes me so happy!!!! I even have it in Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza Horizon 4 and 5!!!!
This is outrageous! What an epic build!
That was RAD. Nervous Smiles from all. You got to drive it! Even if just for a minute. More Please.
Thank you!
Knew they wouldn't let her make a full throttle pass 😔.
Soo disappointed about it, they need to make those engines better to not smoke up
Deora II will Always have a place in my heart.
Pretty much unusable but so cool!
My two kids have Twin Mill Hot Wheels. 🙂
I've always thought it was awesome that such an over-the-top toy car was brought to life. I realize the Twin Mill is just a show car, but I'm not impressed at all with that horsepower number. You would think that two 502 big block engines capped with superchargers would be making AT LEAST 3,000 horsepower, considering a single 383 small block with a centrifugal supercharger or twin turbos can easily make 1,400 horsepower. Still a pretty kewl car nonetheless.
The twin mill is fabulious! But my star racer is Nicole Lyons, Its good to see you doing great in Cali.
the twin mill was my favourite hotwheels car when i was younger, this build is amazing!
Every body talk about Twin Mill, but that's beautiful Deora & Boneshaker.
Freakin cool. ...... Awesome. .... Greetings from india 🇮🇳🙌🏻
The Twin Mill has a special place in my heart as the only Super Treasure hunt I own, and it's from the wild.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! THAT IS ONE BADASS RIDE!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING!!! GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
Tbh and seriously they have to put a new test driver for this beauty beast..
yeah.. having grandma drive it.. just trying to peak thru the steering wheel andd driving slow was pretty lame
Decades, and decades, ago I remember getting Hot Wheels as a kid. I had the Rally Case with the original batch purchased in the late sixties. As the line expanded I remember getting the Twinmill except mine was green
I had that Hot Wheel as a kid when it first came out.
A rocket ship on wheels. Perfect description for the Twin Mill.
This is the most ultimate HOT WHEELS car ever built in real life! That is the car i am shall drive. As well as other Hot Wheels cars.
"Твин Милл 1". Легенда Хот Вилс.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Should've put the driver seat in the middle ...
I can't believe they actually made it !! I used to have the third version of it. The one with flames. Fun times !!
I absolutely love the twin Mill my favourite childhood Hot Wheels car of all time mind-bl🤯wing insane design again I absolutely love the twin Mill
Great video! Crazy car...wouldn't want to go for groceries in that...(I love Hot Wheels.)
2000s to 2010s kids love this car
I can't take this seriously with this woman as the host
Foreal
Absurd, stupid, unpractical... Which makes it PERFECT, love it, I want one
Absolutely incredible! I never knew there were life-size Hot Wheels cars! 😮
I remember as a kid going to auto Rama or a fair and seeing the life size Red Baron hot wheel car.
@@tfodthogtmfof7644 autorama! Went every year here in Detroit with my dad in my youth.
I see. Interesting.
Ten year old me is over the moon with this video!
It's nice that the legacy brands are making an effort to get them interested in things not of their imagination.
That’s terrifyingly hilarious. I’m glad that they had the balls to build something so ridiculous.
Looks like it was already leaking coolant at 6:02 😢
Haha, this was awesome! She was great!
I think I have like five or six different twin Mill Hot Wheels and this video was so sweet to watch
I had this car on a T-shirt that I got from Walmart. I loved that shirt. ❤
omg my fav hotwheel of all time. big love!
When was little, late 60s. The first image of Hot Wheels I saw was the Twin Mill. She looks great!!!
I wanna see a real Jet threat. As a kid in the 60's and 70's it was always the fastest and I had over 100 different cars lol
That was some test drive. My Grandmother would be impressed!
I really enjoy this program.
Thank you!
Y saber que salió en la peli de HighWay 35, es muy satisfoctorio verlo rodar y que realmente sí se le ve mucho poder jaja
Every 10 year olds dream car come to life !
Hot Wheels can look back at their old designs that lasted very long as toys, and life-size 'em.
I’ve seen this at multiple car shows around America
One of my lifelong dreams & goals is to one day have a real life Twin Mill of my own. Mine would be a better automatic version, rather than the more unreliable manual-stick shift transmission.
Hotwheels created another iteration of this model called Twin Mill Gen-E which was meant to be an electric version, though since it is a toy with no engine the only change to the design was to remove the jutting out engines. You might have the best luck with creating your own Twin Mill in this form, a) for the better drivability without 2 big blocks obstructing your view, and b) because of the greater mechanical simplicity and relibility of having no transmission. Just one moving part in the motor (or motors if you want to go dual-motor like in many EVs) and plenty of space in the long sweeping front for batteries. You might even be able to set some range records with how much you can stuff in there. That's what I would do anyway bu I would understand if that would not satisfy the itch you have for twin V8s.
I’ve been wanting a video like this for a long time…!!
The Jack Rabbit Special and the Splittin Image are the most Iconic Hot Wheels.
We need that Hotwheels live action movie.
This car appears in team Hot wheels the origin of awesome in cartoon network 2014.
I suddenly remembered my 1993 Ice versions of Splittin' Image & Twin Mill, and I still have them.
I remember seeing many videos from show-goers over the years and years back it was looking pretty worse for wear and just downright sad. It could barely run if at all and had to be pushed on and off of the trailer. Although I feel it could use some revisions mechanically still to help preserve it and/or make it more drivable (I understand it probably wasnt meant to be) but it has come a long way. What a rad machine to be brought to life.
That car needs a fully digital semi transparent windshield with digital side cameras.
Lucky. You got to drive my favorite Hot Wheels car ❤❤❤❤❤
Fastest car sitting still that I’ve ever seen… the stuff of dreams & legends.
Oh wow 👌 now we just need the bassline with all its speakers!
Gotta switch gears. You about blew it up😂
I hope oneday someone would build the Rev rod from team hot wheels CUZ THAT CAR IS AWESOME
Did good on this. Keep it going.
Imagine how much more fun this thing would be to drive if it was a standard
Supra MK4 entered the chat
supra mk4 ; hold my beer
i want one!!!
amazing to see my favorite hot wheels bring to life
There's another one of these out there. I saw a video of a guy that built one in his garage. It's well built too.
Woow... How crazy to drive this car!!😅😮
"when you get up to speed"
Going about 10kph
I love it when Hot Wheels Cars are built...
Lucky lady! 👍🏻
Oh daaayyuuummm!! that is epic indeed.
My grandpa gave me my first Hot Wheels in 1969 & I have been collecting ever since! Got the Twin Mill in 1975 & still have it in the original package ✌💖☮
Awesome. This thing is waaaay short on rear rubber
Put the steering in the middle
Great job, looks Awesome,
As a Hot Wheels collector and a Muscle Car enthusiast, I have to say in this case, looking cool and realistic must have a point where they meet in the middle and are compatible. She could barely see the road, it was way too loud, she couldn't go faster without the car responding negatively due to handling issues, and it easily over heats. This car makes a cool toy for kids, but in real life it's disqualified from becoming a daily driver let alone a safe and practical vehicle.
I love twinmill and twinmill 2 I have both
Very beautiful and awesome
You should probably get in touch with Gotham Garage. They built a full size HotWheels for a client but their would not smoke you out! It was also so good looking x
I would love to see a life sized Bassline.
The body shape isn't terrible for top speed runs. I personally would redesign the car with a single V8 turbo an a longer tail for added stability.
Then it would run great at Bonneville for rubber tyre records
Only 1400hp? I’ve seen vehicles with singular engines that put out that much. Mostly monster trucks, mega trucks, sand rails and rock bouncers, but still. Could’ve gotten a lot more outta those engines.
This is a show car, it might not even be able to drive 100km without dying.
HP is irrelevant for a build like this.
2 Cheap stock LS engines would beat this easily, but they wanted 2 monsters full of chrome to show of.
The Titanic had more hp as well, why doesn't a Corolla have as much
Cool vid with some incredibly corn ball writing and acting lol
Yeah the presenter has an awkward vibe and weird personality.
Man I would love to drive twinmill
Awesome 👌
Roadbeasts number 17!
I would love to see a hot wheels monster truck twin mill in real life at hot wheels monster trucks live glow n fire next year
I wish I could drive that car even though I'm 13 I still want to drive that car
They should have the 'Top Gear' guys test drive this hot wheel
Dream come true!
A front mounted camera running to a screen inside would help with visibility, surely they could fix the overheating issue with intercooler and fans? possibly 100% coolant in cooling system and run it with some alcohol to reduce combustion temp?
6:45 is when they start the car ur welcome
I love this build it's my childhood toy, but if I'm gonna build one, I would like the regalia body from Final Fantasy XV just like twin mill engine in the side
Another FUN FACT @2:10 looks like that Directional is pointing the wrong way.
What a crazy, cool ride but something better suited for the car shows!
If only the driver seat was on the middle like the Mclaren F1 you could probably daily drive this Beast.
Front hd camera with a screen inside would greatly help visibility.
Please do the deora ii next🙏🏼
