NO SNAG SHORT ASSIST HOOKS ON LIGHT POPPER
I rig this light popper with scaled down rigging for GT and Tuna Poppers/Stickbaits.
This summer, trevally and queenfish are abundant on the surface and trying out this rigging for them to minimize damage to the fish and make a fast release - especially for the queens. They fight hard and if using trebles, they tend to get ripped pretty bad. Summer fishing for them is very touch and go since a lot of them don't survive if you don't revive them properly.

When has anyone ever had snagging issues when fishing a top water lure for gt or tuna? Also, cheesy LOUD music isnt necessary. everyone be trying to emulate the most annoying aspects of TV channels these days. The reason that most people watch streaming services and youtube is to avoid that crap
the hooks snag with the split rings or snag with the body of the lure. it happens. I'll be more careful with the cheesy music next time.
Awesome I will try making ones for a popper I had! Thanks for the tip on this setup!! 👍🏼💪🏼🎣
Hope you enjoy
Good work as usual
In this one, you're puted the stoper knots a far away, and you didn't stop with the hook point like you're usually do and you tell me earlier that's because don't make a gap in fish meat and I know you aren't a random guy so why you did that in this particular one master
you can do the same, but this isn't a jig...the dynamics is slightly different.
@TheFishingKit I got it, thanks
You always answer, I appreciate that
what do you mean "once the fish grab then nothing"?..
I said, as soon as the fish grabs, then that's it...PTFE is super slick, I mentioned "being victimized" right? it is super slick that the hooks penetrate with very little resistance...so...once the fish grabs the lure...thats it..done deal..it's hooked.
thanks again for the video, I will also try this setup on the smaller jigs 60/80 grams, greetings from Belgium
This tutorial is specifically for plugs, there are other tutorials for jigs in the channel that might suit your needs better.
@@TheFishingKit what is the weight and size of the popper you use? thx
its 10g i think if I remember correctly..not more than 12 for sure, its about 3 inches or so
