We all have stories to share about selling our past cars however we have happy memories of them I hope thanks for your comment and please subscribe or share
An amazing survivor in the perfect colour , I recall going with my dad in 1961after an invitation to view the newly introduced Ford Consul Classic at a small independant Ford agent in Cambridge - The Dan Morley Garage .I seem to recall he was not that impressed !. A friend later bought one in blue/white , reg. no. 2226 RU and enjoyed many trips in that one.
Affectionatly known as the Dagenham dustbin in its day. Missed shutting his fingers in the boot,so had a second try in the doors! Andrew is a major figure in the old car world👍🏻
I’ve counted all of my fingers and all present , known Andrew since the pre Camra days of coach trips to pubs selling the old fashioned beers thanks for watching iconic Brands please share and your support and subscription is appreciated
@@IconicBrands123 Have the doors on your Classic ever opened by themselves ? I almost lost a passenger when the door suddenly swung open on a corner. I adjusted the catch mechanism many times and it would still do it on occasion. My first car was a 55 Ford Pop that I bought for 20 quid in 1971.
If only we had hold onto some of these classic cars of the past a pop for 20 quid sounds a great bargain now the mgb doors open and shut as they should but I guess overtime with time on the mechanism this might wear and happen fortunately mine is okay but I will keep self opening doors in mind lol
@@IconicBrands123 At the time I was glad to get rid of the Ford Pop and buy the Ford Classic which had a heater, and I did not have to hand crank to start it !
The 1st car I owned was a 1958 ford consul with a column change light dip on the floor hand brake on the dash 3 seats in the front and 3-4 seats in the back. No disrespect to this car but the 58 model was far better😏
Same colour as the one i owned, my first car...mine was 926 EOK, fairly close registration plate.
You Must have envisioned many early memories
Absolutely adore these ford classic's .. I still kick myself for selling mine in my mid twenty's .

Most certainly yes 👍 thank you 😊
They sure did, the Capri hardtop.

Great feedback Thanks for sharing this memory of your car and happy account of your time with your Dad
Useless information time lol, RU would be a Bournemouth registration
@@peterward3965 RU 4 real
No question whatsoever This is the best looking early ford the UK ever made.
Yep 👍 there’s another video of the same type of car on my UA-cam channel as well thanks for sharing your thoughts
Thumbs up mate, most people took a portable(lol)radio with them to avoid needing a radio licence.
Nice car ,cheers.
And every time you turn a corner the radio would need re tuning lol 😂
I had one back in the 70's and loved it. Darker blue than this one and if I remember it right, a 1500cc engine with floor change..
The original radio for these and capris was a radiomobile valve unit.
5 star indeed 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks for watching UA-cam video channel iconic Brands 🙂
Also available as a 2 door & also there was a Consul Capri which was a fast back

Sweet.
Indeed!
Well done.Will you consider selling?
Worth a try I will ask Andrew if he is interested but personally I’m sure it’s a keeper!! For him
I had a Classic that I bought circa 1973. I think I paid 100 quid for it. It ended up putting a Cortina GT engine in it and sold the car around 1975.
Great memories of when everyone drove a classic car!
