I have customized these baking pans to work perfectly in your 14 cm & 16 cm ZEBRA Loop Handle Pots for wonderful horizontal dry baking performance!
There's something amazing about fresh baked cookies or cake when out camping and this system makes that easy. Treat your friends or family to a fresh loaf of bread right out of the camp oven while out in the wild.
Thanks for the likes, comments and shares!
Easy bake oven for grown ups haha, love the innovations you keep coming up with. Thank you so much for your instruction and time
n8mayfield My pleasure! Thanks!
What a true survivor you are! No doubt that you and your family can trek out and eat well. Thanks for your video!
Thank you for the kind words! 😊
what could be better than a freshly baked bread, with butter and jelly while camping!! man, this is cruelly good!!
+Rommel Cruz Laughing! Thanks!
Not jelly (presume jam) . Better some nice tangy cheese.
I love the sounds of your family in the background!
+I Cactus Rabbit, Yeah, something seems right with the world when families are together.
i see your motivation man! it is awesome when your wife and kids wake up in the morning to the smell of food cooking while camping! i did that at least twice in the past and it became an indelible memory not just for me but for my wife and kids as well! thanks man!
+Rommel Cruz Yes! Thanks!
I hope the wife and kids do something really cool for you for Father's Day for you as its rare you see such a great dad like yourself these days. Crumble cake for the family out in the field! You rock my man. Only great dads spend the kind of quality time with their family like this building those assume memories. The kids bantering in the background just make you smile when you hear them. Hope your business keeps growing.
RViscara You are too nice! Thanks so much! My family is really the whole point for me. They're everything to me.
Oh you killed me when you put jam on that nice fresh bread! Noooooo!~ lol thanks for the post! I will subscribe! cheers!
Cool! Pots have come a long way since I started backpacking about 45 years ago!
+Kathleen Schallock These are actually a pretty old product. We have recently improved them with our Patent Pending Clips
You're the best Steve
Do not watch this if you are hungry. ;-)
Nice job, I just ordered the baking kit and Zebra pot. I cannot wait to try some of this.
Russell Macpherson Thanks! You're going to have a blast! I go into these baking projects thinking, "I'll likely screw this up, but at least I'll learn" then, to my surprise they keep turning out great! It must be a good baking system or I'm just getting lucky? Please let us know how it goes for you. Cheers!
Wow, this is great, just ordered the 16cm billy can with the baking option, cant wait to Get it in the Mail, gonna bake me some bread and put some butter and jam on top, yummi, atb Hans Petter
Holly poop Batman those bake goods look so Scrumptious👌🏻👏🏻from Denver Colorado
Lol they definitely ARE scrumptious! Thanks for watching!
Good tip to have the rocks in the pot!
Steve, I don't own any of your gear yet - hopefully that will change soon. But I have to say, when it comes to innovation, testing, and demonstrating your products, you are second to none. And you also know how to make a guy hungry. Cheers.
ColoradoCamper Smiling! Well, thank you very much!
영어 잘 하나봐ㅋㅋㅋ
Outstanding Brother Steve 👏 I know this review was 7 years ago, but now that I own The bigger Billy 3qt Pot, I need to also save up for the Baking kit, along with the new Chef Knife 🔪. It might take a little while to save up, when a person is on a Fixed income, it just makes it a little harder, I think you are a master baker, you make it look so easy, I hope you are okay with another FIREBOX Fan Boy, I love all of your awesome products, Thank you for Sharing your review. Sincerely your freind from Mo Rick and God Bless you and your family 🙏 and God Bless America 🙏 🇺🇸 and God Bless all of the Great Veterans and First Responders 🙏 🇺🇸
Thank you Rick! sure do appreciate you!
Order in for baking pans and other accessories for my Firebox and Zebra pot, thanks Steve!
Paul Buikema My pleasure Paul! Thank you for choosing Firebox!
nice set had my first bread out the billycan and its work well and the bread was very tasty
henk Schutte That's great Henk! I'm glad to hear that you like this method and are having good success.
Wow, this is awesome video! thanks for sharing!
+Rommel Cruz My pleasure! Thank you!
What a genius idea!
+Slain Liberty I'm not the first to do it so I can say yes! I agree!
WOW! you made me hungry ! cool!
Thanks Joe!
You have my attention sir. I will be looking into this setup more. +1
Thanks for checking it out!
Nice bread.
Thank you!
Genius invention as much as i dont go camping. I love the pot oven idea
Thank you for the comment Lida, glad you enjoyed watching.
a very good education video
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it.
This is another fine demonstration! You need a spatula to match your tongs in order to lift baked goods from your oven and pan system. Your fears about too brown or black don't seem to be warranted. As a life-long bread baker, I would say your loaf is great!
Thanks James!
thank you for your demonstration.
+yxhankun My Pleasure, thanks for watching!
When I get this pot, I try bake bread directly in pot in horizontal position. Dough fill it when it rises and when I scroll pot on the fire, bread not burn in one spot.
Love it
Steve, thank you SO much for the closeup on the firestick placement. That REALLY helps me. The second slot down on the side and the first slot on the horizontal top. Got it!
Now I have another question for you - I'm so excited that you guys have taken such an initiative to create the metal top clips, cut the pans and offer the in-pot support/rack. That's bringing a true entrepreneurial spirit to your product line. My question has to do with my trying to choose between the Z14 or Z16 setup.
As I told you before, it's just my husband and me and we never entertain while camping, so I'm thinking Z14. However, I wonder how the baking mixes correlate to the size 14 setup as opposed to the 16.
When you bake with the 14 (I'm assuming you've done so), do you have to adjust the recipe for size to accommodate the smaller pans? In other words, it might be easier just to go with the Z16 setup so we wouldn't have to modify any recipes.
Your thoughts?
Lellobeetle I'll answer both questions here. To keep the coals on top I use a rack I made from a coat hanger. I have some much nicer ones being made, but they won't be ready for about a month. You can see the one I made here at 4:44 ua-cam.com/video/9FdVIxQ_Qw0/v-deo.html
Most of the mixes are for an 8x8" pan so even with the 16cm set up some will go to waste. With the 14cm pan most mixes would make two batches. So either way you should be fine.
Okay, that really helps me. I'm going with the Z16, I believe, and I can wait to order when you have that last piece made up because my next camping trip isn't until late September/early October to Allegheny National Forest. As usual, thanks for always being such a great help! You have some of the best products out there.
Thanks for sharing!
Nice job! 👍
Thank you!!
outstanding!
+oxycrimson Thanks!
wow. just awesome
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for this.
You are so welcome ONETIME OUTDOORS Dj Rayner!! Thank you for watching!
Another question, Steve. (Sorry!) You've got your coals stacked nicely on the top of the pot but it appears you have some type of metal wire square type of thing. Do you have some aid which helps keep the coals on the rounded edge of the pot? Ex. @6:00
Thanks for the information
My pleasure again thanks for watching!
Love it!
Paul Buikema Thanks Paul!
I use the Small pot and lid as a Pizza and bagel oven haddnt thought of using the main pot on its side But do camp bake/roast in heavy dutch oven
+FGYT Shooting It's nice having more uses from the one piece of gear!
yes i have my basket full on Fireboxstoves.com ;)
Cool!
Thanks 👍😎
Nothing is more delightful than eating a fresh hot bred !
I agree, it is pretty tasty! Thank you!
The large one would be cool if the lid locked tighter. Then if it had a thermometer and an adjustable air vent built into the lid would make this perfect.
Wow it vary vary good ide. R illy
Thank you for watching!
I'm not seeing the 1 quart baking set available on your Fireboxstove website . . . I would like to order the 1 quart Billy Pot but didn't see the 1 quart baking set to go with it
Sorry, We don't make a baking set for the one quart pot.
When I make this at camp, I’ll most likely find small rocks that were in the river at some point. Do I have to worry about them exploding? Idaho rocks can be unpredictable
I've never had a problem with that... but I'm not a rock expert?
Me gusta todo los quiero para mi..YESSS
I am glad you enjoy it, thank you for watching!!
hi Steve
have you tried to roast meat and potatoes in the zebra on the firebox ?
great kit , my clips and large grill plate came today , very quick delivery to ireland , i be out this weekend trying it out for myself
atb
paul
Paul mayo bushcraft No, Not yet, but I do plan to try that soon. I hope you have a great time with your new gear!
I'm gonna bring you some hot bread, best quote ever!
Thanks for the video. Do you sell the rocks for inside the oven?
Or what type can I possibly get? I know that sounds like a silly question but I'm just not sure...
Lol thanks for watching James! We don't sell the rocks for the inside of the oven, typically we find hard river rocks while out and about. You just don't want a soft rock or they can explode. Not a silly question at all.
Wow
Thank you for watching!
just found your you tube vid, never seen the Zebra Head pots / cans with clips on mine have a plastic clip on did you buy seprate or make them.
my cans came back with me while touring neve seen them inuk anywhere else!
Thanks, I sell the pots at fireboxstove.com
+FireboxStove i alredy have the Zebrahead pots 10 and 14, i meant the clips mine are plastic, no need to buy new pots, becides would get charged vat and import tax plus post and packing.
Contact me here and I will make arrangements: www.fireboxstove.com/index.php?route=information/contact
+FireboxStove wow thanks, will do it later, it is a national holiday, in UK, Im off to a bit of a Regimental Reunion, with some of the guys I served with.
Can this oven be used on a gas top with something to prop it up? If it can be, it won’t need a heat source at the top will it?
You really need the heat on top for it to be effective. Thanks, here's a link: www.fireboxstove.com/baking-kit?search=Baking%20kit
Do you use a whole cake mix or just half for that size bake pan?
It is about half, you just eye it. I have overfilled it before and that is fun!! Cheers!
Do the smaller set fit into the SRO 64oz bushpot?
I don't know. It fits into a pot 5 and 1/2 in in diameter and 5 and 1/2 in tall...
How do you keep the coals on top?
I have a rack on top we call it the "roof rack" here's a link: www.fireboxstove.com/zebra-baking-roof-rack?search=Roof%20rack
@@fireboxstove Thank you for the reply Steve.
I don't suppose you need a helper to help you with your goats do you? I'm homeless here in the UK anyway so I could be homeless where you are, have a purpose, have a friend or two and be happy for a change.
Hey Steve, are those baking pans steel or Aluminum? Also, do you think a muffin pan cut to 2 or 4 muffin spots would fit? I imagine those parchment paper muffin/cupcake baking cups would make cleanup on the trail easier :)
Thanks!
Paladinbr They are anodized aluminum. Yes, I think a muffin pan would be awesome!
요리 잘 하시네요 ^^ 저는 잘 못하는데...
It takes time and practice for sure. You will get there.
Use a blunt ended spatula to get the cake out. And tangy cheese on the bread. Not jam.
Thanks for the suggestions, I will have to give that a try.
Did you put coal inside at the bottom of the pot, or is it rocks?
Tom Beaudry I put rocks in the bottom to help regulate the temperature.
Thanks for asking.
Hello Steve. Have you had any military interest in the stoves?
+Doug Bourdo A little bit. Individuals take them on operations I've been told.
+FireboxStove Great. Glad to hear. I will keep these in mind when I get requests from down range. Thanks
so I have a question, If Im not going to use wood to bake, or can't. can I use the Trangia gas burner or alcohol spirit burner to bake? or coal or wood pellets? and how well do the alternatives work? thanks!
Yes, alternatives do work, as long as you can control your heat to the bottom, however wood or charcoal work the best because you can apply heat to the top as well.
Have any of you guys had an issue with your horizontal pot warping?
My website warns against too much heat! All you need is a very small flame or hot coals underneath.
@@fireboxstove I'll admit, I didn't do much research going in. I saw you guys make a chicken and bread in the woods and got all excited. Ive got all types of pressure stoves from a Coleman 520, Svea's, Optimus's and everything in between but no spirit or wood burners. I've been needing a reason to justify another stove and this just gives me one! Thanks for all the great ideas!
Aluminum has been linked to Alzheimer's, I'd look into getting those anodized.
+Skeptic Spartan They are anodized!
+FireboxStove oh great, they looked like raw aluminum. awesome.
+Skeptic Spartan It was unlinked years ago. There is no evidence that aluminum cookware is toxic in anyway.
I see
Sure you remember that right? I talked with miners and they still say it is bad alongwith other minerals tooth filling ect.
