- Join us today as we go on a Little India street food tour in Singapore! Little India is a vibrant and bustling neighborhood in Singapore that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Indian community. Its narrow streets are filled with colorful shops, aromatic spice stores, and traditional clothing boutiques. The area is adorned with intricate Hindu temples, such as the iconic Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, which we visited. Visitors can indulge in authentic Indian cuisine at the numerous restaurants serving delectable dosas, idlys, chai, and lassis. The streets come alive during festive seasons like Deepavali, with elaborate decorations and lively street bazaars offering a wide array of handicrafts, textiles, and jewelry. Little India is a must-visit destination for experiencing the vibrant Indian culture in the heart of Singapore.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, eight years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in Chennai, India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family. You must be very proud of your kids. Smart, well-behaved, positive and open-minded. You raised them well
In an ideal world, this is how all families should be!! What a wonderful world it would be then❤
Cedar looks like a young Jennifer Lawrence and She pronounced Milo correctly...Its "My-Low" not "Me-Low".
I just fell in love with your family. You guys are so well mannered and your children are all so well behaved and respectful. Lovely!
Thank you so much!
I love how you let your kids experience different cultures & food at such a young age. When they grow up, they will look back at these vlogs and appreciate every little monent with their parents & not take anything for granted❤
I love all of your kids! They are so adventurous and well mannered. You’re raising your kids right by exposing them to multi cultural experiences and food and teaching them to try new things and embrace life. Blessings to your whole family and welcome back to Singapore anytime!!
love how your kids are so open to trying different food. Good for them!
the best thing about your food vlog is that now im tempted to try all the foods in Tekka. as a Singaporean ive always played it safe w basic pratas, plain or masala thosais… but now that ive seen yall eat i want to try all kinds of indian food
Your two bigger children are very good travellers. They are nice kids and eat well. The little one, needs time to warm up. But he is a good boy and doesn't made a fuss. Happy Travelling..
The food looks good but sometimes it’s best not to watch how it’s made 😂. Anyone saw the questionable water drip into the pot of curry at 3:44 as the cook grabbed some stuff off the shelf?
Yup. Anyone rem the case of the sotong water dripping into the indian rojak sauce causing the demise of a pregnant lady?
Thanks Jonathan Forest Cedar Gran Kelly! You guys really covered much of little India Singapore all in one session like a gigantic India alike, we like the foods deserts and temple visit and could have been much more! Definitely alot.of viewers will get your recommendations.and likings as more tourists will get ideas too. Hope we get more videos before you guys head back to Indonesia. Cheers to all!
Thks for addressing their nanes

I have been a subscriber of you guys for some time now, but I don't usually comment. I am trying to watch your vlogs more regularly now and making time to watch especially the new ones as they come so I can stay updated to your wonderful unique candid travel journey as a family! You guys are an excellent example of some fine family travel vlogging! I really mean it. You have set the bar for family travel vlogging really high!! And Kelly and Jonathan, you both are amazing parents who are teaching their children through travel. And not just any travel, but travel to underrated & unexplored places and learning the positive cultures & hospitalities! What an education! Cidar, Granite and Forest are really blessed to have gem parents like you! They are growing up to be global responsible citizens!
You guys are in my prayers.

@@BagsPackedFamily My pleasure Dada! 🤣🫰
We love you ❤ Singapore loves well mannered and kind people like you
Thank you so much!
It's rare to see Americans sharing their food... As a Singaporean who lived for 5 years in MO and traveled a total of 38 states, I have never seen Americans sharing their food unless it's a family-style restaurant.
Now that your mention it, I think your right. Interesting!
Surprised for not sharing food
Sharing food you can taste of different kinds and yet paying for one🎉😂
its trying several dish at one travel trip , makes sense , if you want a taste of everything ,of course if you are home base , one will just sit in for a full meal
@@sngjoolianit's not a question of paying. In Indian and especially muslim culture food is always shared.
Also you can try out different dishes. Everybody has a limited stomach and it doesn't care about the restaurant owners financials.
❤Very caring parents
Salute to both😊
I chance upon your videos and keep continuing watching. Very impress with your parenting and getting immerse in different cultures and food here in Singapore. Welcome to my country and hope u have a wonderful stay here

I really like the fact that they share everything. 😊
Nice Vlog
Little India Singapore 🇸🇬:-
Little India is truly one of Singapore's most colourful historical districts. Lime pits, brick kilns and a race track once dotted the neighbourhood, and its streets thronged with herdsmen, merchants and garland makers plying their trade. To this day, this enclave of Indian culture retains its unique heritage.
•Why is it called Little India in Singapore?
Its location along the Serangoon River originally made it attractive for raising cattle, and trade in livestock was once prominent in the area. Eventually, other economic activity developed, and by the turn of the 20th century, the area began to look like an ethnic Indian neighbourhood. Great family vlog.
Thank you for the added information!
It should've been called 'Little Tamilnadu' but Indians as always like to steal others identity, did it here too...
Your kids are the most adorable
Thank you!
Enjoy your stay in sg! Love your kids :)
love the kids. they are smart and well mannered. the little guy is too cute lol.
I am drooling 🤤
❤️❤️
Nice!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your Vedio
Cedar and her sunglasses oh my goodness what a star 😂 such a joy to see the kids enjoying the food. Granite’s thumbs up makes my day!
Granite has such a good head on his shoulders, making the call to order less food because of the big breakfast. And Cedar’s wonderful and spot on pronunciation of milo! (Most people pronounce it like cedar did 😅)
She's such a little celebrity! :-)
😍😍😍

Next time in little India, try the Indian ice cream call kulfi. I am Singaporean myself and just discovered kulfi, man they have special favours like, pistachios, butter scotch, chilli guava. The stalls outside Mustafa sells them and make them. However, they have manufacturer like Arun available in many mini marts in little India. Very good, lol my best kept secret.
I seen many Indian mama stalls selling that ice cream around neighourhoods too. Always wondering if I should try it.
you can ask for moist less crispy thosai..it's nice and soft that way.
Get WELL SOON MAM KELLY❤
Brother I'm in Singapore near To SENTOSA....if possible we meet...👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
never tried this gulab or masala tea before , yet i see it most of the time , maybe one of these days , you miss the famous chapati store further down , another famous chinese store name scissor cut rice
Thanks for the yummy suggestion!
Zam Zam is nearer to bugis area but their murtabak is good nevertheless. Try the springleaf and upper thomson road ones for roti prata next time. Wow zam zam went through a renovation since the last time i came here
Thanks for the yummy suggestion! We had the opportunity to try kulfi back in Dehli. It was delicious! 😋
Lovely family.
FYI Both dosa and idly are made from rice and lentils. Very little variation in ratios. One is steamed the other made like a crepe.
And yes Murtabak is indeed a stuffed paratha/porrota
waiting for bag packed kids new vlog 😁
Punjabi food and GRILL there you must check out the ROOF diner in SINGAPORE..
LONG Beach Crab TOO...

Your very fortunate to have children who are open minded trying new things. My children are like their mother and very close minded to other cultures. They would have ruined my overseas trip.
My sympathies.
