We employe Sentinel and Landsat images, which sentinel has high accuracy images but it is expensive as compared to Landsat images, hence the common and most used is Landsat images.

It's not a glitch nor is Google hiding anything. These satellite images are taken periodically over short distances and pieced together like tiles.
