This is my dream college! I have flags and posters of cal poly in my room- and a jacket! People call me cal poly because they know how much I love the school 💗
Omg congrats!! Cal Poly is the best school! I absolutely love the professors, the people I’ve met, and it’s in the perfect location! Feel free to ask me any questions you may have💛
im attending cal poly as a freshman this coming fall and I'm so excited! Any suggestions on dorm necessities and recommendations for bedding stuff (mattress pad/topper, etc.)
Hey Dianna! That’s a great question! I’m hoping to make a video soon, but I’d definitely recommend a mattress topper, fans, printer, Brita, light weight bedding, and a long phone charger! Hope to get a video like this out in the next few weeks!
thanks for the tour! could you give more detail on the shower situation? you've mentioned multiple rooms shared bath/shower room, but I didn't catch how many people it was. And, how many shower and bathroom stalls are there? I am thinking of either getting a portable caddy to bring my shower stuff with me and then take it back to the room every time. Or, would it work to have a "shlocker", the "shower locker" that has a combo lock and has suction cups and can be attached to the wall in the shower room and left there the whole time?
Hi! In north mountain the bathrooms are shared between 12 people(4 rooms). There are 2 toilets and 2 sinks. I had my stuff in a little caddy because north mountain did not have shower lockers. So you can bring your stuff into the bathroom when you shower although a lot of people kept their plastic caddy on the floor or little shelf in the bathroom. The hanging shower caddies were not the best for north mountain because there is no where to hang it. You can also get a hanging shelf to put in the bathroom to keep stuff on as long as it isn’t in too much of the way of the cleaners. Hope that helps!
Love this I'm going to a field trip called "Epic" and I will be attending there as a 7th grader and exploring their for about a week. So I will get to explore the dorms and sleep there. Sounds amazing 😍

Um hi idk if ur still going to be there during july 21-26 bc i am going there as a field trip for summer its a type of calpoly pomona???? I hope i could see you in calpoly
All the north mountain rooms follow the same layout and look almost identical. This is a corner room so the beds in most rooms will be side by side along 1 wall!
i read that the north mountain is the collab leadership learning community. I’m deciding between mindful living and the collab leadership and don’t know which one to go with, thoughts?
Hey! I personally really enjoy living in the leadership learning community. I also have friends in mindful living dorms that love it. I can’t speak for everyone but from what I’ve experienced and heard, the two most loud and social dorms are definitely business and leadership. If the location of the dorms is important to you or which dorm you get, then keep in mind mindful living is located in the new dorms this year and leadership is in nomo. One thing I’ll say about north mountains location is that it is about a 4 min walk to everything on campus! (Also I’m not totally sure about mindful living but pretty much everyone in my dorm is in Greek life if that makes a difference to you) the dorm locations also change every year so don’t worry too much!
Hey, I go to Cal Poly SLO and i use to work for university housing, just wanted to let you know that just because “collab leadership” is in nomo this year, does not mean it will be next year. Everything is based on demand, so don’t really worry about the dorm you are going to live in! It’s about the learning community. All about the people you live with, not the place you live.
I am going to be in the north mt cal poly slo dorms next year and i’m wondering if you can hang up string lights since they’re electrical? also, how do you “pin” things up without actually putting a pin in the wall? thanks!!
So exciting! I loved the north mountain dorms! Honestly my RAs didn’t care about our lights, but they have posted rules online I believe. On breaks we just unplugged everything to be safe. Also, we used lots of command strips to hang stuff up! Hope that helped!
We bought some of the real succulents in the window on campus. The magnetic ones on my bed are from target and the one hanging from our window is from home goods
Eh it’s definitely not my favorite and you do get tired of it, but it’s not terrible! You can still mix up your options if you try. Students usually like getting smoothies/acai, salads, Chick-fil-A, subway, pizza, pasta, and burritos

Wow! It’s so nice, one of the nicest dorms I’ve seen. I like how you all went with a theme instead of a load of random colours!Xx
Thank you sm!!💛

Omg congrats!! Cal Poly is the best school! I absolutely love the professors, the people I’ve met, and it’s in the perfect location! Feel free to ask me any questions you may have💛

Ahh this was so helpful! I’ll be there in the fall!
So exciting! Congrats 🎉
Great tour. Super helpful. Did your roommates on the top bunks have mattress toppers? Wondering if it gets too high for the safety rail.
Yes they did. It gets a little close to the safety rail but they were okay
@@SammiNicole Thanks so much!

Thank you!! We got them from bed bath and beyond
Hey! Love your videos! I’m going to cal poly this fall, and i know this was made a while ago, but do you remember which living community you choose?
I chose the leadership community! Highly recommend

What are the extra pillows for?
Hi I was wondering how the Shasta NM dorms compare to this one! I will be a freshman this fall :)
All the north mountain rooms follow the same layout and look almost identical. This is a corner room so the beds in most rooms will be side by side along 1 wall!
is there any difference between the shasta and lassen dorms in north mountain?
The layouts are identical but this year Lassen was Ag and Shasta was leadership
Hey!! I'm moving into NM this fall and I was wondering what the dimensions were for the curtains you used over the closets?
I can’t remember :( they may have been 84 inches
super cute & helpful !!
Thank you so much! 💜💜

Yes super helpful tysm!!! 💛
Hi!! I’ll be moving into North Mountain this year :) What curtains did you guys use for your closet? Does the closet come with the rods?
Hi! You’re gonna love it! The closet came with a rod and we used our own curtains. I think my roommate got 84 in ones
I just committed to SLO I’m pretty excited! What do you think about the entrepreneurship learning community?
Congrats! I don’t know much about that learning community but if you’re interested in it you will probably make great friends in the community!
Sammi Nicole ok awesome thank you!
Thats my friends room this year 😳😳😳
Hi i love ur videos
Thanks so much!💞
Hi! Where did you buy your contact paper, and was it easy to remove at the end of the year?
I got it from amazon! It was so easy to take it off. I think it’s linked in the comments or description!
Sammi Nicole ok thank you!
which dorm is this in north mountain? which number is this? beautiful!
Room 32 in Palomar ❤️
I'm in North Mountain this year at Cal Poly. Did your room come with curtains or did you add those yourself? And did it come with blinds?
Hey! Our room came with curtains that were kinda sheer, but most rooms had black out curtains that were cream. There are no blinds
Sammi Nicole thanks!!!
diablo this fall !!!
Yess you’re going to love it! Nomo is the best
Dream room 😘😘
Thank you!
Sammi Nicole your welcome
Where are all your succulents from? Xx
We bought some of the real succulents in the window on campus. The magnetic ones on my bed are from target and the one hanging from our window is from home goods
Sammi Nicole tysm!❤️
How is the food, like honestly? cuz everyone complains about it but what do you think
Eh it’s definitely not my favorite and you do get tired of it, but it’s not terrible! You can still mix up your options if you try. Students usually like getting smoothies/acai, salads, Chick-fil-A, subway, pizza, pasta, and burritos
i think theyre getting a new dining hall next year
How much is it a month to stay in the dorms? 😊
I can’t really remember but I think it was around $1400 a month which also included food. You can find this on the housing website!
are all the dorms bunk beds?
Most yes. All triples will have bunk beds. There are some dorms with doubles (red bricks, Sierra madre, and Yosemite have some doubles and triples)
Omg what you look just like Adrienne hill
Waittt how many people are in one room?
3 ppl in one room!
Oooh!
Do you ever run out of things to do in SLO?
Nope! There’s so much to do I feel like I haven’t gotten to do as much as I want to haha! The campus is super lively and the town is great!
i love the tour! i also posted a room tour that you might enjoy too :)
