Not bad for a DIY repair job. My workplace uses an Autel MaxiTPMS TS508 and rubber-stem MX 1-Sensors on nearly every car with a TPMS problem. I'm impressed with them so much I bought a TS508 myself. As for the repair job you did with your Prius, I'm amazed you were able to take the old sensors out using the Handyman's secret weapon and a fishing line. In the end, I'm sure the $350 US you spent on sensors and the tools you have will pay off in the long run. Well done.
I used the universal Autel TPMS. It doesn’t work perfectly on Gen2 Prius-supposedly Prius TPMS are finicky. The TPMS light will always come back on when the vehicle is parked. Once you run the vehicle for a minute or so, the TPMS light will go off-but it is annoying. Looking at TechStream data, I typically see 2 of the 4 tire read very low pressure even if it’s fully inflated. Saw a UA-cam video by a mechanic stating these Prius’s TPMS is finicky. If was to do this over, I would get the Autel scanner that can program the TPMS module (5xx?) and get a non-programmable TPMS for these Prius.
Not really, I just put the air in the tire and the bead seated. It’s been a while so I don’t really remember, but the bead breaker I used was the best suited for my needs. I think there were options depending on the size of the rim or something…I remember paying a premium to get the one that had a wider application to cover the range of vehicles I have.

did you use a generic tpms or OEM tpms ......i heard OEM last longer and no issues with programing
