i was there that night, and this is one of my favourites, so when he sang it i just wanted to immerse in the music and the mood, rather than sing along out loud. this is such a mood song, i personally feel it needs to be done with the most focus on the music itself, and let the artist pour the heart into it.
I went to see him when he came to Chicago and there were a bunch of 15 year old poser girls so I’m not surprised tbh 😂, or ppl who started listening to him after sob rock :/
Horrible crowd. If you guys watch his performance in Rio de Janeiro back in 2017 (just search for "John Mayer - Split Screen Sadness (Rio de Janeiro - 27/10/17)"), you'll see how different it was when there were actual fans in the concert.
