The media is missing the significance of the congressional delegation showing up in court. Whether intentional or done with reckless disregard of the impact, their presence is a form of witness and juror intimidation. Some police unions do the same thing when a police officer is on trial - they send in a bunch of uniformed police officers to sit in the audience. These congressional people literally showed up in uniform - same color suits, white shirts and same color tie. They entered the courtroom in the middle of the proceedings specifically to call attention to their presence. Criminal gangs sometimes engage in a similar tactic. Gang members show up to watch the trial, entering during the trial proceedings. This is not just a show of support for Trump. They are looking to influence witnesses (including potential defense witnesses) and the jury. And they may succeed, especially since the media is failing to call them out on it and cause them to stop. On the other hand, I hope Pallatore right, in that some members of the jury might resent the entourage interrupting the proceedings.

In this absurd case NO NEED to take the stand, let the prosecution make their bad case. The Burden of proof is not the Defense and the witness for the prosecution is horrible.
As a logical rule, it sounds ridiculous that defendants are given the choice not to testify. The person around whom the case revolves is the key to offering the final answer...not through his lawyers ( as long as Trump is sane, can speak, and has not lost his memory).
