Fantastic spot to show up n just thump
That was freaking amazing. Astounding sense of groove, with a near perfect balance of rhythm and melody. WE NEED MORE OF THIS GUY.
Agree so much so creative to slap on flatwounds I’m trying it myself now and I love the triplets and it sounds perfect on that bass clean sound
This percussive style of playing is very Victor Wooten and is really hard to execute. Amazing playing
Someone really seems to like Victor Wooten ;)
Who doesn't? ;)
BassTheWorld.com Torvic Toowen
Yes wooten without an hand .. the sound is so bad !
@@wilsonm6839 you are a goof 😂
Sick playing man. Also thumbs up on the flat wounds. I just put them on my bass and its opened up a whole new dimension of sound possibilities and playing styles. I would say I just recently I graduated from the beginner to the intermediate level of playing. Anyone who hasn't tried flat wounds out needs to give it a try. They may not have the slap sound your looking for but there so smooth I could probably practice for almost twice as long.
nec plus ulta
And no string noise!!😄
Mr. Lofoco, Very nicely done. And yes he likes Victor Wooten. And who doesn't except maybe a couple of people on this thread. But what I want to hear is music from all these people making comments talking like they are better than you. Come on boys let's hear what you can do. We will be waiting.
1:14 just makes me smile. It's a texture I've probably heard a thousand times, but I never could visualize how it happened.
He's just using his palm on the flatwounds to slide down the fretboard. It makes kind of a "record slowing down"/"sighing" sound. I put tapewounds on my bass, and can get the same effect. I'd only ever used roundwounds, which sounds entirely different when trying the same trick.
Jaco's slide technique
Sei un grande zio...bel suono flat e groove mostruoso...degno portabandiera del miglior bassismo italiano!!
That right handed Palm slide at 0:19 was pretty cool 👍😉
This kind of videos where i can see any bass player in a real place playing.. are very relaxing...
The bass sound is SO nice in balance 😍
When i did closed mine eyes i didnt miss drums..at all..soooo amazing and complete
funk jazz colourfull babble i jus love it you re a super bass player stay with the noble cause saluto a toi
I love it because it's almost like a sound of nature!!!!! I'll have to try it out!!!!!
The champion 🏆!
I've watched this video no less than a dozen times...such a tasty, groovy jam. I could use more of these ^_^
Wow.. . What a unique shape bass
that bass is beautiful 😍
This is captivating. Really tight playing!
That headstock looks... interesting
Yeah I'm not fond of it either, I'd either minimize it or make it pointy to match the body. Definitely cool playing though, and the rest of the bass looks nice IMO.
I like it. Its something different.
I think it. Should've been headless
The body of the bass is so cool but imo the headstock is ugly. I build basses and that is not something that I would ever put on a bass, should have made it headless or traditional headstock.
LONGEST90 It looks like it isn’t finished like if someone’s feet aren’t finished
Wicked moves and an awesome tune!
80 haters who cant play a rubber band over a cigar box...too bad for them...that was fucking outstanding!!!
Pure poetry.
Wish you could see my one year old jamming to this groove!! Ha ha
Very nice!
Seriously man! Awesome solo. I've never been a fan of flats, but now I am.
I like this. The flats give it a very percussive, drum like sound almost like a marimba or a kalimba at times. It doesn't sound like a banjo like with some roundwounds. Listen to Chuck Rainey's flat string thumping on Rock Steady. Very deep and percussive.
Amazed at the control and articulation in your percussive technique. Clean and crisp. Thanks for showing it :-) . Only thing is whether or not these flats can cut thru in a real band situation when playing Slap and Pop? I know it WILL very well fare for finger-tone. Was just curios abt slap tone amidst high vol guitars and drums. Cheers....
It's OK 👌
Love the Audio Technicas, i have the black ones and they're the best headphones i ever had
and holy skills this guy has.
Il migliore.
what a style! awesome
awesome
Cool technique but he doesn't always get back into the groove on time after he plays a fill, that's a pity.
Nice chops though.
@@brennanneaton3062 it doesn’t really sound that way. there’s still plenty of stuff to sample here anyway.
I never would have thunk ... flat wounds .
sound pretty cool .
Bravo Aleks.....it is Laurus bass...
Awesome ! *.*
Thats one fab bass
That was cool mate !
🤯🤯🤯
Absolutely beautiful, and that bass is a borderline sexual offence in several countries. Damn man!!
HI-fi bass, lo-fi strings. Nice riffs.)
This is one of the best bass palyers in the world!
He's got his bass over here looking like a World of Warcraft "legendary" weapon lmao
very special but great sound with these flatwounds. I like it!
So groovy! I love it!
Why does everyone have to slap and ghost note all over the place? The Michael League video you had up for a short time was by far the best playing posted on the channel. Just simple, well phrased and nothing trying to be flashy.
Max Mees Because it sounds groovy, I guess ... But Michael League is a living legend!
theres always plenty of gene simmons videos here for you 😎
@@_Majoras playing simple doesn't mean playing well. Gene Simmons doesn't play well.
Man, it's just a technique, i'm sick of mindless shred for example, but it's just a technique at the end of the day
awesome!!!
This video is proof that slapping on flatwounds can sound awesome.
Awesome! Great skills!!
respect
God that sounds good.
Groove!!
Epic
INCREDIBLE 🙌🏼super human skills😀
He stares at the ground like he's having a staring contest with the devil XD
Wow!!! This is a wonderful class
Super clean, excellent tone and technique. Well done!
holy crap
Oh My Goodness!!!!....
BADASS
Such a fat groove. I really dig the sound too!
Casssssso!
Greetings from Colombia
Please give me the reference of the electric bass.
Thanks and excellent video.
Very close to Victor Wooten Style This guy probably has invest hundred and hundred of hours to get to be so close. IMPRESIVE ! Great Job !Victor would like for sure !
mamma mia!!!!
Is this bass designed to have a wider fret board? As in, 4-string spacing with 5 strings? It looks so wide for 5 strings.
O.o nice bass
Impressive ;) si It recorded with a metronome ? :)
Ever gonna upload some more video's with people that actually groove?
maybe you can volunteer.
william powell
Sure, i'd love to!
Joey DH We look forward to you posting a video with more groove than this guy. Let us know when you upload it.
Shaun Luxon
I don't have the audio or camera setup to do it, but I would have otherwise. :)
hmmmmmm, If you say so.
i love your bass guitar verry smooth sound.what brand is that
This bass sounds sooo good :O
status graphite. e a marca de contra baixo melhor do mundo...
is not a Status. Is a Laurus, Italian Handmade
Sick, so sick.
flats are best. but what ones are those? the red fabric is making me want to say Rotosound, but they are too clicky. Tell me, Mr. BtheW
wow that groove!
you can feel the flatwounds...
One of the sickest Victor Wooten-based grooves I've ever heard. I see you are a fan of his, but I noticed that you put some of your stuff in it. We definetely need a lesson on this groove! What do you guys think?
ps: loved the Larry Graham's "Thank You" lick at 0:23
Wow
Why are there 82 dorks who didn't like this video?
Nice. Feel like he kinda has a Victor Wooten style to it. Dope bass. Dope groove.
OK hezre we have plenty of notes per second but is the result really beautiful to hear?
It is clearly a technical demo but doesn't groove as sexy as a lot of less complicated but more groovy and efficient basslines.
amazing
Nah , flat wounds are too muddy 4 my taste. Id love to hear this again w Some medium GHS Boomer Round Wounds tho
Oh yes!!
Yes, I agree that flat wounds are too muddy. I didn't like the tone or the groove. The guy has a good technique and potential. No comparison to Victor!
I did your style. Good work
You are cool man,
But for "me" i think you like Victor Wooten, Your technique & your groove,
Overall i like your skills :D
does anyone know what kinda bass that is?? its increadibly eye catching
a Laurus bass
thanks :D BassTheWorld.com
+callum aldridge
One of the finest italian bass that you can find
When you have an entire "band" in your hands
Wild looking bass, but the results speak for themselves.
I like the thumpiness, but my immediate reaction was: "I NEED TO TURN THE TONE KNOB UP!"
darkySp Flatwound strings
What strings are those?
Victor wooten style right?
How does this guy play on flatwounds?! I can NOT play with flatwounds at ALL. They are just difficult to play with
quina marcha nanu!!!!!!!!!!!! mol lugrat
Il bassista di roma che c'era in belgio!
Spero di vederti ancora suonare qualche volta! non si sa mai!
what's the band kinda thing on the neck of the bass??
Abishek Miller that's a Gruv Gear FretWrap
thanks :)
That is the most beautiful ugly bass that i've seen.
Bravissimo alex! Tecnica wooten! Ma il suono nn mi fa impazzire
He’s almost as good as the Seinfeld bass player
your ears never need a drumset during the whole performance
It's Usopp on bass!!
