How do you know when your dirt bike boots need to be replaced?

T.R. Catanese goes over when it's probably a good time to replace your Alpinestars Tech 7 Enduro Boots. Please note this method does NOT apply to lower priced boots such as the O'Neal Rider & Element boots, Thor Blitz XP boots, Fly Maverik boots and any other boot that's under $150. The reason for that is those boots are budget boots that offer the basic protection needed to ride a dirt bike or atv. They do not offer the ankle support nor do they have the stiffness of an Alpinestars boot. You can take one of those boots brand new and fold it in half. However with the Alpinestars Tech 7 boots and Tech 10's, you cannot do that when new and that is why they are worth the money that you pay. Slowly over time the boots will loose their support and it's up to the rider to determine when the boots are not up to their personal standards.
As a side note, I am not throwing these boots out. They will be saved as spares for someone who comes riding with me who has no boots or really old boots. These will still offer more protection than cheap boots or no boots at all!
