- For me, 1966 was the peak of the classic Motown Sound. This is one of my favorites from that year. This song is a bit more adult than the previous Supremes hits. I especially love the strings and the vocals, plus that hypnotic bass and "Slow Charleston" beat. I hope you enjoy this new extended version and the video!
Mary Wilson's smokey Beautiful filler voice is closer to the mic & Florence Ballard's soulful strong soprano voice is farther away.. Beautifully Haunting for Life..Rest In Heaven Lady SUPREME Mary Wilson & Original Supreme Florence Ballard.. Motown-R&B/Soul-Rock n' Roll-Pop Music ROYALTY... Thanks for this, it was GREAT!
God, I love this song. I listen to it everyday. Almost 60 years after it was recorded.

I love this mix! Thank you for uploading! Although I'm *not* going through a breakup (which the narrator of this song is), I'm dealing with a different kind of problem, one that also involves someone no longer a part of my life. A friend of mine whom I had known all my life recently moved away, I used to talk to him daily (I won't reveal his name out of respect for everyone's privacy), so this song resonates for me. I apologize if that was more than you wanted to know and/or unnecessarily verbose. Anyway, while I'm not taking away from The Supremes (or *any* of the Motown artists/groups), but let's not forget about The Funk Brothers (without whom there would never have been the legendary "Motown Sound"), as well as The Detroit Symphony Orchestra, who often collaborated with The Funk Brothers on many of the Motown recordings, including this one. According to the song's Wikipedia article, the Funk Brothers members who played on this recording include Earl Van Dyke on organ, James Gittens on piano, James Jamerson on bass, Benny Benjamin on drums, Joe Messina on guitar, Jack Ashford on vibraphone, and Mike Terry on baritone saxophone, with Paul Riser as the string arranger. Thank you again for uploading!
EACH AND EVERY DAY I CRY A LITTLE 😢
🙌🏿🌹
Prefer the original MONO mix with pumped up percussion and added reverb on the strings and vocals…just gives it the depth and dramatic forlorn feeling it deserves!
Thanks for the caulking tips.
