The last crush: Closure of the Moreton Sugar Mill

Thursday 4 December 2003 marked the last crushing season for the Moreton Sugar Mill. It was the end of an era for the Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Nambour, the centre of the sugar industry in the area for 106 years. A State Library of Queensland Innovation Grant funded the film.

I will never see Nambour again. Lived in Nambour 1995 to 2000 as a kid before moving away and thank glad we did. Biggest heartbreak of my childhood.

Lived on the coast from the early 70’s…… I have left recently cause of all the southern wankers coming into our backyard.
I really love the coast but I will never see it again.
